Thanks for showing this Jeff. Some interesting aspects I love for sure like walking around your truck and hooking the cables and those things as well as the fuelling is something I love and wish they'd have in ATS/ETS. Unsure personally regarding the survival aspects myself but certainly a point of difference.
Working on my CDL right now so some weird things: 1- blinkers are not turned off automatically on some trucks (all the ones I used so far at least), 2- Usually no need to shutdown the engine to hookup, and no need to manually lock the pin, it should be done by the small impact when backing up. Love your videos :)

As a person with CDL holder for over a year. I second this. It's also noted there are 1 cord and 2 air hoses. Blue service brakes, red emergency brake, and green cord is for power. Strange that the back lights didn't even illuminate on te trailer when he hooked up.
In ETS in the beginning (long time ago) blinkers didn't turn off automatically either. Maybe a more difficult thing to program than it seems. They added it later, so maybe they add it here too. It's still a demo after all.

I’ve had this in my wishlist for quite a while, glad to see a demo is out finally giving us a look. I was wondering if it was just gonna be an Alaskan version of ATS and I’m glad it’s entirely different. I really like the survival mechanic of it right down to the little things such as running it, it definitely has potential. Curious about mod support further down the road when the game releases, hope they allow it.
These Truck Simulator videos are very entertaining to watch. I didn’t think I would enjoy watching them as much as I have, but I’m glad I like them. Keep up the great work Jeff!

I would never turn the engine off in Alaska in the winter unless the engine is being torn into. Even in the 48 if I'm up north the truck doesn't turn off under 20
Thanks for the indepth demo Jeff! I'm happy to see it has different aspects to set it in a different place than going up against ATS. I think it's pretty cool. For people like me, it'll be a fun addition. I usually cycle between ATS, Snowrunner, and others
That game from the demos looks very immersive hopefully it is as good as they made it look and if so hopefully ats can get to that level of immersion one day

Thanks for trying this out Jeff! I'm actually pretty impressed - ive been wanting the extra immersion and tasks this offers in ATS for years. I'm not that interested in the survival / obstacles nature of the Alaska setting, but the ability to interact with the switches in your truck, get in the back, sleep at will, eat, connect the trailer hoses etc is great! I really hope there are teams at SCS working on adding stuff like this to ATS instead of just map DLC and no additions to the base game.
Yeah, ATS is fun for a while but since the driving is all you do....it gets stale. Haven't booted it up in ages because of that. The end of the tutorial mentions running a company but you hardly do that even, something like that as well as lorry maintenance and having to do some more manual things would be nice. They don't even need goofy arms or crappy mini games, just press a button and watch it all click into place. Like many things in the game all these things should be optional and customisable so you can do what you find fun and not do what you don't.
i love how you can get out of your truck and fill up gas and do work on the truck. It needs some work but I love the concepts. My issue I had was when I was using my xbox controller it wasnt smooth

You are right, in Alaska in the winter the truckers do not turn there engine off, due to the fact that there engine can freeze. I hope they change the turning off the engine. Even when they go in to eat, they leave the trucks on. 😎
Deer sign should be caribou or moose crossing. Winter solstice you'll get no sun, summer solstice you'll get 24 hours of light. Black out curtains are a necessity here to sleep in the summer. This is set about 400 road miles from me, can confirm people cutting off large vehicles (motorhomes, big rigs, trucks towing boats). I think it tends to be done because of the lack of passing areas, and people are afraid of having to drive behind something slow for many miles. Looks like the game has promise.
PLEASE revisit it Jeff it is such a good game! I had it on my wishlist since it was first put up on steam to get it so I was really excited to see the demo get released. The game easily way surpassed my expectations and I am way more than happy with how it turned out. I mean you can do so much stuff in the game that is absolutely awesome 😮
Okay after finishing the rest of the demo I have to admit Jeff definitely covered the coolest parts and then after he died there actually wasn't anything else really interesting. I remember being sad because you can't actually go into the stores like they got me believing you might be able to do based on the incredible realism (for real! I got a little too excited when I saw you could get out of the truck, sleep in it, go in the back, hook up the cables and do all that stuff) 🤷😂 But I was disappointed how soon the demo ended because I wanted to play more 😂
Might as well add bathroom breaks if we have to eat. They could have a 💩meter. Maybe we could spend time shopping for life insurance or after a long road trip, we come home to a cheating wife, and have to play divorce sim. Or maybe devs should stick to driving and add track IR.
The fact that you use a controller to avoid hectic camera movement got you one subscriber more dude. WAY too many streamers have an ADHS-like mouse/camera movement and make their viewers sick to the ground. I HATE THAT! Great video in general btw 👍🏻

I have been wondering about this game ever since I seen the trailer for it and glad there's a demo out for it and it seems like it's gonna be pretty good and I like how interactive it is and how there's all kinds of different things you can do and it's pretty cool how you can fill up the oil and stuff in your truck thats pretty awesome. at 40:50 after you cycle the heater off and on your health icon went form a blue heart with a snow flake to a green heart. i think that fixed it and it just took a while to fade
bro'... it's better than ATS and I'm happy about it... you can get out of the truck, do stuff while out, real-time game speed, 4 seasons, all sounds great so far... I'll definitely get it, it's on my wish list... is the in-game time real time speed?? To me that's a critical feature...it seems that the driver got hungry and tired a bit too fast...so is it in real time speed?? thanks for the presentation
Its one thing to play a game on trucking its another animal to go out and do it. That is why they limit our hours to 14 driving in Alaska because we get tired from the mental capacity it takes to do this. Also most trucks at idle burn about 1 to 2 gallons an hour. Yes we dont shut down the trucks for fueling or hooking a trailer but It is awesome to have to hook it all up! besides locking the fifth wheel.... That happens when you back under the trailer it locks it self. But you do have to unhook them
in AK it is highly unusual to shut off our engine for anything other than fuelling and parking at night during the winter, especially if the temp is less than 20 F

I think the heater bug was actually triggered by going to exterior camera view. It broke right after that, and it looks like the game thought you actually were outside or something.

This game looks like fun. But from what I know, on a winter road like ice roads. You never want to shut the engine off when temps are dangerously low. That would be something I think needs changed. Otherwise, I'm diggin this game Jeff.
Hey Jeff, I`m tryng out the demo as I write this (great suggestion btw), and I`d like to point out that I just discovered than you can indeed get out of the truck with it running, if the handbrake is pulled. However you can`t attach or detach the trailer with the rngine running (I came back to correct a typo and figured ad add that 2nd tidbit while I as here... Oh and it seems to work ok if you shut the engine off and sleep with heater running... Must have a webasto or something)
I had really low expectations for this game, but I was pretty pleasantly surprised by the reveal. I think I'll stick with the truck driving simulators but if I'm ever in the mood for survival now we've got a cool niche with trucks! (Though now that I've seen what the game already has, I fully expect there to be a decent selection of trucks considering they're going the un-branded route)

Always good to check the pin just in case. You can drop a trailer if it doesn't luck automatically

In Alaska we get like 3-4 hours of sun light in December and in the summer we get 24 hours of sunlight

It says online that the demo is already out. Can’t seem to find it on the Xbox store. Anyone have any idea if/when the demo will be released on Xbox?
my guess is that there probably gonna play rich jerk's about it. and only add it to new gen console's.

This game looks like fun. But from what I know, on a winter road like ice roads. You never want to shut the engine off when temps are dangerously low. That would be something I think needs changed. Otherwise, I'm diggin this game Jeff.
One cool feature I seen was when you pulled over to eat that car went to the far lane to pass you like in real life.
So this is American Truck Simulator meets SnowRunner, basically! I'm a fan of both so I definitely want to give it a go :D

Hey Jeff, I`m tryng out the demo as I write this (great suggestion btw), and I`d like to point out that I just discovered than you can indeed get out of the truck with it running, if the handbrake is pulled. However you can`t attach or detach the trailer with the rngine running (I came back to correct a typo and figured ad add that 2nd tidbit while I as here... Oh and it seems to work ok if you shut the engine off and sleep with heater running... Must have a webasto or something)

I had really low expectations for this game, but I was pretty pleasantly surprised by the reveal. I think I'll stick with the truck driving simulators but if I'm ever in the mood for survival now we've got a cool niche with trucks!
(Though now that I've seen what the game already has, I fully expect there to be a decent selection of trucks considering they're going the un-branded route)
