Speaking to a realism of ATS, I am a retired truck driver. 10 years, 1 mil miles. I am really impressed with with the detail and the sound. Hearing those jakes rattle is like the sound of music to me. All you need is a candle that smells like diesel exhaust lol.
Great video Jeff! Glad to see you back in ATS, the rig is finished, and most importantly you feel better. I will try to pop into the stream if I can. Enjoy the New Year everybody!
I'm happy to see ATS return to the channel ❤️ I've been enjoying Texas and I love the new prefabs with tighter parking. I can't wait to see you explore Austin, San Antonio and the coastal parts down south, you'll be blown away.
Awesome to see you back in ATS, no one does it as well as you do! Looking forward to your content in 2023! Texas is fantastic, lot of varied roads and sights and it's really well-made, to normal high SCS quality, you will enjoy it greatly! ...and it's huuuge! Happy New Year!
@Jeff Favignano I’m so glad that you’re back and you will not be disappointed with Texas DLC it’s Amazing it would be fun to see you and fivepd boys playing in convoy in Texas
The northern part of Texas is highly underrated. Once Oklahoma is done, you'll have to map out the portion of I-40 that is the old Route 66 and drive that across NM, TX and OK. At one point in Oklahoma, there are wind turbines as far as you can see and it's a really cool sight.
Ats is one of those relaxing games where you can zone out and listen to your fave tunes...which is why I enjoy playing when ever I can. Hope everyone has a wonderful new years eve and may the new year bring everyone good health, peace and happiness and many more blessings!👍✌️🙏
I want to say thank you for the closed captions in your videos. Most dont bother. I am here because of that. I can see/hear your videos which means A LOT to me and those of us with hearing issues. Great videos and great thoughtfulness
Since Texas is my favorite state in the U.S. I think SCS has done a fantastic job with it! Hope to see more content from you driving around the different cities in Texas!
You'd better thank Russia for that, because if it weren't for the Russo-Ukrainian War, the resources SCS allocated for ETS2's Heart of Russia DLC was instead diverted to Texas DLC and the other upcoming DLCs for ATS!
My dad has almost 40 years truck driving and he said that the game is kind of accurate but he doesn’t like it because the scale is so small. Your vids are so cool Jeff.
I think one of my favorite mods lately has to be pedestrian traffic sounds. You can hear other diesels shifting and it just adds a whole new dimension of realism.
There's something about cruising in ATS and Jeff giving an update on things! It's so good to have it back on the channel. Happy New Year to you Jeff, Nicole and the family. Here's to 2023, and what's to come. I wanted to say a huge thank you Jeff for being you and the streams and uploads
I grew up in Wichita Falls, watching you drive through it, it’s a fairly close representation of the town. Landmarks, roads, and the like. Good on ya devs!
A very happy new year to you Jeff! Was watching some of this at 2am this morning on my home from the Sydney Fireworks, completely toasted 🤣. All the best wishes for 2023 and what it will bring.
That is crazy. I’m a Texas native and I live in the Fort Worth Dallas Metroplex and it was like I was driving on my own throughout the highways from Wichita Falls through Fort Worth and Dallas and it is so realistic, even down to the stupid crazy drivers!
I've been waiting for SO long for some Jeff trucking again. Jeff is the only virtual trucker I enjoy watching. He plays it as if its real life. Watching him makes me want to drive for a living. Plus my father is a trucker, so I guess it's in me blood
Thank you for introducing me to this game over a year ago now! Its the game I have played the most since I got my PC last year! Love seeing you back playing ATS!
Having lived on both sides of Texas since 1987 until 2005-6ish this looks so accurate, and all the signs I saw for speed limits were correct to me. Great content Jeff, keep it up.
20:30 - We might be getting Texarkana in a later update. I know that SCS has discussed finishing up northeastern Texas (and by northeastern, I'm not talking about the panhandle. That'll be northwestern Texas), so you may be able to go to Texarkana in ATS in the near future.
My only wish is they go back and redo the Panhandle. I can't remember but I don't think they put in Palo Duro Canyon which is the 2nd largest canyon in the US. Pretty sad to have missed that.
@@JTube571 yeah its very pretty. I live just outside of Palo Duro and we go there constantly. Not as "deep" as the grand canyon but it goes on seemingly for hours. It's so beautiful. Sad that it's not in this game.
glad you're back on ATS, jeff. i got into this game from watching and being inspired by your vids, so I'm happy you have a dedicated set-up now to make more content. happy new year!
I laughed at how fast you went from Wichita Falls to Fort Worth. I have driven that in real life and its a couple hour drive. In real life that trip whole trip would have taken you 10+ hours. Love the videos.
Its funny how I just checked your channel literally last night to see if you had any recent ATS uploads, and was sad that you didn’t. Now I got this notification haha
I can’t even fathom what it would cost to get setups like this (including the sim itself or computer to run it). It just looks like so much fun though. Whenever I used to play games like “Crazy Taxi” or “Grand Theft Auto” I had no interest in doing anything except driving around and obeying traffic laws/signs. I always wondered why nothing like that existed where you could simply drive around like the real world, and then I found these ATS videos and have been completely blown away. I know I could never afford to get the required equipment surviving on disability, but at very least I can experience it vicariously through those who can.
I was so excited when Montana came out because I could finally drive on I-90, which we took from Minnesota to Montana where we had a week long family vacation out there in 2020. Super cool to see Montana and when driving through Bozeman I actually found the Firehouse Subs we ate at while we were there. SUPER COOL. I can't wait for the Midwest to start rolling out!
I moved to Missouri from Texas….. and mannnnn do I miss Texas. Missouri is beautiful as well. You can take the boy outta Texas but you can’t take the Texas out the boy
When I first got Texas, i had alot of navigation issues, also, I to have to do a video on Texas now. Hope everything goes well jeff, and thank you much for your excellent videos. Keep up the great work man!
I live in Texas (Conroe, just north of Houston) I've lived here and traveled the whole state my whole life and they did an absolute fantastic job detailing it! Kinda sad I didn't get to see anything after Centerville since it crashed (Areas like Huntsville, Conroe, Spring). But they modeled Houston absolutely perfectly. Love to finally see my homestate get some ATS love!
The sound mods are SO good these days. I remember during my 18 Wheels of Steel days, you were happy with any semblance to a turbo. These sounds are so realistic it's scary 😂
It’s so weird as someone who lives off 35/287 and works in downtown to see downtown Fort Worth right next to Basswood Boulevard 😂 I *wish* it was that close. This is super cool though to see Texas in ATS.
I will say its an accurate representation. I spent a lot of 2021 escorting windmill blade Oversize loads in that area of Texas, Galveston Witchita Falls, Amarillo also spent time escorting body component making machines to the Tesla plant in Austin
Firstly, glad to see you back and illness free man! Secondly, I have played the Texas map since it was released and it is pretty accurate. I have family in Dallas and Houston and I live and work about 45 minutes north of Austin. It all is pretty accurate to IRL. Obviously like you stated, it isn’t identical or super in depth as it would be just too much time and detail on one state. But there are some significant landmarks they put in that as a Texas native, I can tell where I’m at roughly. I am kind of bummed that the cowboys stadium and the rangers ballpark both in Arlington are not shown. But, six flags is there so there’s that. Overall, I can speak from experience, it is pretty well done and they did a pretty good job capturing Texas. Love the vids, can’t wait to apply for OCRP and you have a good new years brotha! Cheers from Texas🍻🍻
47:43 “twerk around” lmao gave me a good chuckle. I’ve found after the 1.46 update every city in the game is very laggy. I’ve been told Texas is the most laggy though. As for the jazzy cat motorcycle pack, it should come with 3 files the main one, the def and another with a 3 letter name at the end. If you put that one above the main file it makes it to where there is a normal amount of bikes on the road. “The other day I had one merge into my trailer and let’s just say he didn’t make it lol”
Finally excited to see this and glad to have you back in American truck simulator I've missed these videos Happy New Years to you and Nicole hopefully it's a good one
Great video, Jeff! Glad to hear you are finally feeling better - being sick is no fun especially the double whammy. ATS has been immensely fun to play with in Texas. I haven’t been able to explore as much as I’ve wanted to due to graduation and Christmas, but really looking forward to getting back into it myself. The parts of Texas that I know are east Texas, and I think SCS did a good job. Especially around Galveston. Take care of yourself, my friend, and happy new year to you and the family. 🙂

I have only seen a few parts of Texas, but I’m liking it so far, SCS definitely put a lot of love and care into it!
Definitely a lot more fleshed out than Coast to Coast, I've been told Coast to Coast is apparently absolute garbage.
I agree, the game itself doesn't work with just a mouse & keyboard.
Especially with driving and backing your truck in when you're unloading your cargo
