  • Ngorongoro Crater is not a crater but a caldera.
About 2 million years ago, in Northern Tanzania, a volcano about the size of Kilimanjaro exploded and collapsed into itself.
Millennia later the walls that we see now are known as the Ngorongoro crater.
If you have a choice of visiting one game reserve in your life, let it be Ngorongoro. What a place.

After watching your Moremi vid I loaded up your channel and see you up in Tanzania now . Heres a story for you in the early 1950s my Dad moved to Tanzania in the days before tourism he showed me cine film of them walking in the crater when a pride of lion rose up in front of them the camera shakes for a second and the lions turn and run away 😁 will you be going on to Kenya ? You were lucky to see the black rhino I saw them disappear from Amboseli in Kenya in the 1970s sadly😢 there are still no rhino there .

Seeing lions are always a bonus. If you watch our video of Mogotho, we saw lions there as well. Please keep watching.
