For all who commented why no history, decent Urban Explorers won't give away details on an untouched property like this because that might draw in looters and vandals who will wreck the place

    • @altha-rf1et

Because people will get in trouble, it is like telling other people to go and break the law. The best thing to do and I done this on several of these videos, Look when they are driving and look for road signs, Then look it up on Google Map

Reading some of these comments really piss me off. First of all, The whole point of urban exploring is to get in to sites that have been abandoned. Yes, sometimes you're trespassing to get inside to sneak a peek. I personally don't have the balls to do it which is why I turn to these guys on TH-cam. If you watch them for any period of time you know that they are ethical explorers... they don't take anything from these places and they don't give out the full story or location so that assholes don't come and trash the place. If you clicked on any video with the word "abandoned" and you're watching it, then you're curious and you want to see footage so why are you complaining? And for crying out loud! The phone thing is their signature…IT'S PRETEND! 🙄. The title isn't Clickbait… It is probably truth and it's a hint as to what happened in that house without him giving the full story and people flocking to it. Another thing… Kristy is not his girlfriend, she is his wife. Haters just need to go away!

Laurie Myers what a fantastic comment. Written by a astute observer and true fan of exploration. In a world of absolutely over done laws and limitations put on people is it any wonder people just want to find something to go and explore to re capture some freedom. :-)

Finally someone who gets it. This is why I like their channel. They get in, explore for a while and that's all. They despise vandalism and thieves. These guys make the whole "urban explorers" community look better. They have their code of honour and stand by it it's actually really refreshing to see.

Totally agree. They are so respectful of the places they go into. I wouldn’t have the balls either, and now this damn virus has stopped us all going places, I like seeing where they go. I’m from England and partly why I love watching these guys is that I see parts of the US I’ll probably never see in real life.

I knew two sisters, for the past 50 years, who lived in Ma., who were millionaires. Their family is famous and have lived here since the Mayflower. The sisters, never had to work other than maintain their properties left to them. They cut their own grass, bailed hay,had animals, cats, cows,.. did snow removal etc, right up till they were in their 90's. Just before they died, they sold their ocean front mansion on Rye beach N.H. for 3.5 million. They loved that home..wood paneling throughout very expensive when their grandfather built it in the 1920's...They kept the Mansion in Ma...then one sister got very ill and sadly passed away. Shortly thereafter her younger sister passed away. They lived right up the street from us. I knew them both since I was a 6 year old kid. Nicest people you could ever meet. Real New England Yankee's .Hard working, very kind, but they held newcomers at arms length ...they were VERY private people. Well their grand nephew lives in the mansion now, but we have read that he has sold it and the land for an elderly housing development .Very sad for the long time neighbors to see. Supposedly they are not to touch the original mansion it is still there, kept up by the sisters for all those years. They are greatly missed by all of us.Sad to see homes like this go the way of the wrecking ball.

The woodwork in this place is absolutely amazing ! I don't think you can find anyone to do quality craftsmanship for any amount of money . They just don't make things to last and keep their beauty . And don't even get me started on the furniture ! I lost count $$$$$$$ ! Awesome find !

Just cut back the overgrown foliage, check how the roof and foundation are, and the inside pretty much just needs a few fixes here and there and some paint work...from what I can tell. Would be a great home, but...most likely out of my price range haha

This is really interesting and I am happy that they went there, but I would hate for this place to be "found" by the general public. If that were the case and they decided to go back six months later I can guarantee that the place would be picked clean.
I mean everything from all of the contents to the columns, rails, stair rails, bath tub, sink, to the very walls and floors. There would be nothing left but a husk!

some mega rich folk have lots of houses and have still got even the fones switched on, everything paid by direct debit / standing order etc...classic example is the 'abandoned beach front property' in Malibu, worth multiple millions just for the sand it sits on... It's owned by Cynthia Beck, wifeLET of one Gordon Getty, she pays rock all taxes as it's not lived in, needs LOADS of work etc etc...and she has 'lots' of similar properties, the mega rich pay least tax...didn't you know that lol

That happened to me and a gal when I was 20, in Keachi Louisiana. Fully furnished house, abandoned in the 30s or so. Clothes in closet, papers on desk, unfinished painting on easel on 3rd floor. The power was still connected, and there was a 1920s car in the detached garage. The house looked pre-civil war, and probably was. We were in there for an hour before the owner showed up with a shotgun. He was the mayor of the little town, and it had been his grandparent's house. He held us there until 6 sheriff cars showed up and we were arrested. Fun times. That was 35 years ago. The owner is dead now, yet the house still sits there as it did at that time. I'd love to go back and look some more, but I'm way too old for that now!

My neighbor and mother have houses from that era. Based on the ornate woodwork on top of the archways, I would say 1903. Houses were first wired up for electricity during that time. The house would have light switches that turn with a switch or push button, if it was not updated. The first house Edison wired up was Hearthstone in Appleton Wisconsin.

That's what I was thinking. It's in too good shape for it to be sitting too long. Other than the peeling paint in the hallway (which could have been peeling while they were living there), it's clean and in exceptional shape, which leads me to believe it won't be abandoned for long. Also, the person could still be living and in a nursing home.

While seeing the inside of the house was cool and was what you promised, a little history would have been nice. Who owed it, when it was abandoned, when it was built, that sort of thing. Did the person you talked to for access to the house not know anything about it? And what's with the "Murder Mansion" thing? Is that what the locals call it or something? And if so then why? Also when my great aunt passed her house looked similar to that for years while her estate was being settled and before we all had time to go and help clear it. So it's not particularly crazy for thing to look as if the people just walked out of the house.

My mother-in law was in a nursing home for six years, with full mental faculty, so she paid her utility bills, kept her home which was far from where we live, then when she died it took another 10 years to settle her estate before we could enter her home. So for 16 years no one had been in her house. Luckily no leaks or break ins because she had close neighbors. This could be the case in many of the homes you explore. The courts do not move quickly.

The very old mansions did not have bathrooms but dressing rooms off the bedrooms, and this one looks like it was retrofitted for an update for that time frame. Perhaps those that lived in the home were the last of the inheritors. Or the owner had many estates and left this one the way it was due to the memories left behind. It looks as though they did a lot of entertaining or they had a big family. By looking at the passport, you have a name and a year issued. And you can look into the public records- the taxes just may be paid up. Very rich families have it in a trust and it is taken care of thru that trust. Very interesting vid.

i don't think that house was abandoned. look like that house still had power. Maybe the executor of the will or of the estate like mentioned before are trying to figure out what to do with the place. whether to sell it and split up the funds or to keep it. It doesn't look the the owner has been gone for long. Again that house looked like it had power. Lamps still plugged in to outlets. I don't think it was abandoned.

agreed. it's really disturbing that they have such a sense of entitlement to enter. i'm all for seeing truly abandoned places but this i believe is not the case based on estate issues in my own family history. this is just wrong... if it's proven otherwise then i stand corrected... the video will only bring more unwelcome guests that may not be so respectful of the property which is sad.

Details vary from state to state, but adverse possession laws generally state the following: If a person moves into possession of property, improves it and possesses it in a public manner, then after a certain amount of time he will acquire title to the property even though it is actually owned by someone else.
The basic requirements for a valid adverse possession claim (which, again, will vary by state) include:
A hostile claim: This means the occupier must be on the land either by mistake (an incorrect deed), with knowledge that they are trespassing, or simply on the land without knowledge of its actual ownershipPossession: The person occupying the property must actually, physically be present on the land and taking care of itOpen and Notorious: In other words, the occupier is making no attempt to hide their occupationExclusive and Continuous: The person making the claim has solely occupied the property for an unbroken period of time

My ex sister in law, took care of a sick old man for years, he willed her two properties, she never took ownership until like 15-20 years later, his estate apparently paid the taxes, I am not positive, maybe she had power of attorney, but she avoided paying anything, including inheritance taxes until recently when she sold both properties. I don't get it but she did it.

    • @debpolenz9554

Another thing is, if you inherit a property, if it has a mortgage, you have to pay for the house, and the taxes etc, they might not have been able to afford it. and are leaving it sit. Some people have money and don't care or want it. So it sits. It is crazy.

    • @Smiles2U4Ever
      @Smiles2U4Ever 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Deb Polenz, if that's the case and if there is a mortgage that they neglected to pay then the bank would foreclose and resell it. The house is probably paid for, and the taxes are being paid by the estate otherwise there would be no electricity. The owners simply have not made a decision on what to do, or they have no time to deal with it right now. This dork with the dark glasses is trespassing.

I think what you two do is really cool! My husband and I would love
To go inside abandoned houses that have nothing in them just to
See what the inside looks like. But to be able to go inside a house
That’s been abandoned and the people have left all behind would
Be even better!! Just to be able to look at these things would be
So neat, so interesting not to take anything but just to look. In a
Murder house it’s a sad enough history but in a way your looking
Into the lives of the people that have lived there and died there.
You have the coolest jobs ever! I don’t think we have any like these in our area.
Wish we did! Please do more!

which is more likely and why i have a problem with this being perceived as abandoned. after my grandmother went into a home there was a chunk of time that no one was staying there as my parents and aunts and uncles sorted out what to do about it. i wish people would respect private property. i love seeing abandoned places but this isn't right. it's pushed beyond... there is no description to ensure it's truly abandoned so it's crossing the line.

This is definitely one of the best houses I've seen. It really is surprising how much stuff was left. The woodwork is beautiful. The amount of work that was put in older homes when they were built is so incredible. I love the canopy bed. The wallpaper and curtains remind me of Laura Ashley. Her catalogs were really popular in the sixties and seventies. I had an aunt that had all colonial furniture and she bought from there. They were kind of pricey. I bet if the woman was elderly she probably bought that house for a song. It's a shame that it's just sitting there. That's why if you own property you should always have a will. Someone may be entitled to the house and not know it. Thank you so much for sharing it. I always enjoy your videos.

What I could do with that space. A lot of the furniture is beautiful, I'd love to have it. I don't know why but I get the feeling that a lot of love iived here. Judging from all the chairs in the attic there was alot of family gatherings. It's all so sad no family has claimed any of the treasures left behind. The bathroom is probably 70's - 80's. You also said it was a murder mansion, that doesn't necessarily mean it was committed in that house, the person/ s could have been involved in a homicide away from the house and the house now is known as the "Murder" house.

Hello there! I discovered your videos just today and I am a fan already! I love what you two do, and have done the same myself. The homes and properties are amazing, although a trifle sad to think that , in some cases a persons life and possessions are just locked away and not appreciated and enjoyed. I too love the workmanship involved in making these homes and the woodwork is , and will probably never be seen again. It took true craftsmanship to carve the banisters and make the staircases.I grew up in an old home, not a mansion but we had a library and , as a child I remember sliding down the wooden staircase, and the old wooden ceilings and the creaks in the stairs , etc.... I could tell you some ghost stories! Anyway, I do digress! I really like you two and enjoy watching! A truly handsome couple! Thank- you so much! Peace, and keep up the exploration, I'll be watching! ✌🏻♥️

Dust is caused by flakes of skin and scalp from pets and humans mixed with dirt tracked in from outside. If the house has been left empty and closed up to outside airflow, there wouldn't be much dust. The carpets could have been vacuumed just before the owner left, died, or whatever... No one in the home walking on them would mean they would stay looking fairly clean.

Someone must've passed away and no one has been there to go through all the stuff. Maybe there is a dispute over the property.so many questions as to why all this stuff is still in the house. Sad though that people's pics and clothes and furniture and basically their life seems to have meant nothing to the family left behind. Maybe there is a legal matter going on. The woodwork in these old homes are amazing and there were men that did that for a living, that's what they did the woodwork and carving and mold work on these beautiful homes. Unless it's a custom home, these days homes are prefabricated and just thrown up in a matter of weeks, nothing really special anymore.

This is someone's summer home, not abandoned. The power is still on. It would have been funny if the owners can home with these two snooping around, lol.

jaynpenny its not abondend or in ruins cause her children own it and pay taxes on it. You see this all the time with wealthy families. thats why the roof is protected with tarps to prevent leaking. They locked up after her death and intend to come back. we did this to my grandmas house.

Being old school, that was really a cool house. A lot of work needed for the update. Sometimes, city hall records could provide answers regarding who lived there and if there were any relatives. May be the relatives live over seas and are not able to afford to come over. Therefore, there the house stands until someone looks into it.

the woodwork in this house is absolutely gorgeous. It will be ruined if someone doesn't live there soon. What a shame

Why did you title it "Murder Manson"? I would like to have seen a close up of the canopy bed and some of the titles on the albums..

tazlynn1958 yes me also. I think some urban explorers need to think of their viewers more.

tazlynn1958,ya know, I was thinking exactly the same thing! When he was showing the album's in the closet, I was sure he was going to bring a few down. What a major disappointment! I can only imagine the things we didn't get to see, tho it is a beautiful home only to rot away. SAD

I would like to have seen more close ups of everything. Some personal descriptions of the items too. Slow the camera down please to make these films more interesting. "Cool", "Crazy", "Unbelievable" comments add nothing to the wonder of this property.

The Kitchen (which is an addition) was likely a garage originally. The original kitchen would have been located at 3:07 with the pantry located beside it at 14:40. The bay window would have been added after the kitchen was converted into another living room.

What's odd about this one, there seems to have been multiple people living inside due to the amount of beds, unless the person had quite a few guest rooms.

What a gorgeous home!! I see lots of antiques, furniture and books etc... That claw foot tub and marble sink is original to the home..Maybe she did not have kids was probably married both passed away and who ever in the family did not claim anything, due to owing taxes on the home. In cases like this, the State would take the home and resell it if there was no Will. Family would have to Probate the house and items. It is disheartening to see it all left behind . so sad to see it abandoned..

i doubt it's abandoned... which makes this troubling.. going too far for the sake of youtube clicks isn't right.

This is a home I would invest in. The sad part about these beautiful, strongly built homes for me is, where are the families of these ppl who are no longer with us? Why are they not interested in the legacy that their family members worked so hard for, just to leave it abandoned?
