Those big beautiful eyes get me every time. The intelligence that these beautiful apes have is just incredible. I love every one of them. This baby must have lost her mother and is being raised by a nanny here. I only hope that they find them in a proper sanctuary and not a zoo like environment.

For every baby taken as a pet to satisfy some idiot poacher and some selfish humans wishes , there was a mother that was brutally killed trying to save her baby and very likely there were other members of that group that were killed as well.The babies witness this and are completely traumatized. As you can see in this video. The baby doesn't even respond to the playful tickles....& that's one thing they love & always makes them laugh. Why do some human beings commit such vile acts?

They share 97% of the dna with us their human cousins... its not too difficult to distinguish their emotions or when they are happy or when they are very sad or unwell....Hope that helps.

Instead they treat them like human babies and keep them in cribs with diapers and feed them baby food. This isn’t necessary because they have a full set of teeth. They still likely need the nutrients from milk (formula) but they certainly don’t eat baby food in the wild or in captivity. They start sharing mom’s greens and fruits at this age. But the zoos over there know displaying them like human babies will draw in tons of visitors. They do the same thing with chimps even though just like orangutans they’re normally carried or held for the first few years. The only time these poor things get touch is when they’re being fed or getting their diaper changed. Then the ones that survive grow up and get pregnant the minute it’s physically possible and have no idea how to care for a baby. And so the cycle continues.
