The only thing is i wish the show showed the food more, like them tasting the dishes and close up s of the food, so we can see the ingredients and textures and colors.
Like many others, I was really disappointed not to see the judges tasting the food, I think it’s probably one of the most important parts of a show like this, especially with everyone creating their own vegan cheese flavors!
Just want to say I love this series and used to watch chopped a ton, so after going vegan 3+ years ago and still learning new cooking tips all the time, this is perfect! My only critique is to fix the tasting of the plates. Like chopped, the chefs go into the other room while the judges decide. I would prefer (I would I assume I’m not alone) the host and guest chefs tasting the dish one by one, discussing unique ingredients used, interesting tips, odd combos, or etc. The current setup rolls past it will an overhead shot that kind of doesn’t showcase the food. Again, love the content and production quality is 💯
Same. I went vegan in 2018. Chopped was my jam but couldn't keep watching after going vegan. I agree with your statement, but I also understand this isn't a high production TV channel. It's probably a few of Chad's homies doing all the tech stuff. So I don't expect food network quality, though Top Vegan is very High Quality for a TH-cam channel. 🌱💪🏽🖖🏽
@@Marine_Veteran_Vegan_Gamer oh yea! The production quality is top notch! I just think we should see more footage of them tasting then dishes, discussing their favorite part like the sauce or something, and then it could give them channel a way to cross promote a previous episode by referring to another similar dish a previous contestant did, mistake, technique, etc. They already have the footage, so longer episode without filming more and cross promo a previous episode. Win-win-win And I believe there is a vegan episode out there!
Good episode! I understand you owed a debt of gratitude to Guest Judge Johnny, and I appreciate his support of you, but I would have preferred to hear the thoughts of a vegan judge on today's dishes. Someone who eats dairy cheese on the regular is likely not looking for the same thing that I am looking for in a vegan cheese. I wish the episodes could be longer but I understand production constraints... which usually come down to money constraints! Would love to see more of the judges actually trying the foods and more of their comments. Hoping for a live finale again this year!
You need to give contestants more time for a proper vegan cheese contest, especially with a non-vegan judge. The best vegan cheeses are fermented or aged like Rebel Cheese!!
So giddy watching this unfold to see what tricks people have discovered!!!! I agree w the pool party seeing the taste reaction is priceless in conveying vital information to the audience. Bring Monica on, we trust her taste buds😂
I hope this feedback is seen as constructive, because that's how I intend it. I was disappointed with this episode. The best part is seeing the contestants describe their dish and the tasting. That just wasn't in this episode for some reason? I was bummed. Would much rather see that than people struggling with their ovens and looking for produce they can't find.
Came here to say this. I was really excited to see how they were going to make cheesy flavors, and was sad they didn’t spend time describing the dishes more and presenting them. Also, seeing the judges eat the dishes and give first impressions is the best part of a cooking competition! Love the show and hope to see it totally take off!
We have a few episodes this season that suffered from technical difficulties with the cameras and memory cards that resulted in some lost footage - this was one of them. Just know we are aiming to showcase the food and tasting portions more, but we had some adversity in the post production process. All feedback is welcome 🙏 our goal is to make longer episodes and highlight the food even more as we get further into this season and future ones!
It's a shame that you sent off that chef to no fault of her own, but instead for being undercut by your host's shortcomings. I'm sure she put a lot of time and effort to come out there with a serious intention to compete under fair and equal circumstances.
Love and appreciate this show, but why was the tasting each chef’s dish and showing it being cut into etc suddenly cut? I really don’t like the new format. 🙁
You guys can't disqualify people because they have equipment malfunctions. Take note that everyone should have the same opportunity to present based off of the circumstances.
This was definitely the host's fault and absolutely biased. I am also disappointed. This was a glaring snub to someone who took the time, expense and effort to join the competition. How shameful!
I wish the rules prevented processed "meat" products. There are so many ways to make great vegan/plant based meat-ish products, using walnuts, mushrooms etc instead of processed, big corp products. OR make dishes to demonstrate that meat or faux meat does NOT have to be present for a dish to be delicious and amazing!
@tunajune2382 I was persuaded to go this route because of the first episode, and how the winner of that challenge used processed things. I made two cheeses from scratch also
@@veggiedesithat’s great that you made your cheeses from scratch! I believe some others did as well (which is inspiring and I love to see). Keep up the good work! 💜
Just a heads up: I have been a vegan for over forty years and my veganism goes hand in hand with overall health concerns. So, highly processed foods are a no no. Do your research, look into the processing/processes involved, when you decide on many of the meat and cheese substitutes. Careful.
@@c.leee.5613 Just a heads up: Being vegan has nothing to do with health. Sure, it's a positive side effect if you avoid unhealthy foods, but it has nothing to do with being vegan. @@Marine_Veteran_Vegan_Gamer Eat as you like, Lorenzo. We all have different reasons for being vegan. That's fine. I think, however, you might find it interesting to do some research into the negative effects on one's health of eating processed food. I don't know where you live, but where I live nearly everything is not processed. In fact, it is absolutely no effort to avoid processed food. I assume you live in supermarket leaning America and can't be bothered to search out healthy foods. But, yes, processing is a boogie man (as you put it) and if you look into it, I am sure you will agree with me.
