Got the same thing with my puma, I'm a retired lorry driver and some of the trucks I've driven have had smoother gear changing than my car.

When you put it in context like that, it makes it even worse coming from what could be called a brand new car

Similar issue on my mk8 ST. If i shift from 5th to the 4th, the gear stick gets stuck to right side between 5th and 6th

We have had a few comments on here as well as people we know raising the same issue. We just hope that in general it will note become a massive issue that will require replacing parts. Spending money is never good news.

Had the issue with Mk8.5 fiesta with only 7k miles on the clock. Gear selector mechanism replaced under warranty

Just sent mine in at 4k miles only does this when at higher speeds town runs was fine

Mine is a 20 reg, 35k miles, suddenly couldn't get 1st gear, it kept tripping out. Eventually seemed to improve, but should I get it checked out?

I would say to start with checking the gear control cable (linkage cable)
