This movie was everything childhood me ever wanted. Im now 24 and i was grinning like a schoolgirl the entire way through the movie and teared up multiple times while i was sat next to my GF. This movie was better than it had any right to be and i will never forget it.
It was pretty much a repeat of the Super Sonic reveal in Sonic's second movie, the bad guy thought he got the hero only to later discover that the hero's power-up had activated at the last second.

This is how I used to make audio loops for "walkers" in Second Life. Which were basically just looped sounds (10 seconds long or less) that would play anytime you're walking. Also for Second Life I did this for "dubstep gun" loops.

My thoughts when I saw the Mario Bros. using the Star's power: (To Mario) You're alive! Kolhii-head, you could have been Koopa bones! Mario (to me, in mind): Could have been, but I'm not.
Princess Peach passed the Super Star to Mario, turning things into his favor. But Bowser still refused to let that happen and tried to burn Mario alive with his fire breath. Mario’s brother, Luigi, blocked Bowser’s fire breath with a sewer lid, giving our heroes extra time to get the Star. At the moment where both the Mario Bros, Mario and Luigi were about to be toast by Bowser’s Fire Breath, they both grabbed the star. Bowser thought he had won. Princess Peach thought she lost all hope. Well she didn’t. She was relieved that both the Mario Bros grabbed the star just in time and began to kick Bowser’s butt really hard with a series of punishing blows, paying that fire-breathing bastard back for hitting Mario with that unfair advantage and attempting to murder Luigi while trying to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser doesn’t deserve the star because of those things. There will be other ways for him to be the “most powerful turtle in the world.” For that Star, I have imagined that someone will upgrade it so that it and all the rest of the same Star can only be used for Good. All the heroes get to use those Stars only for Emergencies, like Evil Bastards getting unfair advantages and beating up heroes too much. Do you all agree with me?
This is just a movie about a video game plumber so this is kinda corny of me but I really can’t help but be MOVED by this theme. Like it actually brings me to tears when I hear it. It’s so powerful. Just the thought of what it MEANS. Maybe it’s because of what I’m going through personally? Just the thought of Mario (and Luigi) being this super ordinary guy, a plumber, but he’s capable of AMAZING things and the star allows him to become INVINCIBLE like no obstacle in the world can stop him and he’s FREE. Idk how to explain it. It’s just so triumphant and “empowering”. Like *you* can be a superstar too. *You* are capable of amazing things. *You* are invincible with or without a power star. It represents unstoppable hope in the face of obstacles. Like the iconic theme is a symbol of resilience in the darkest times, freedom, and the indomitable human spirit. It reminds you of your own capacity for courage and perseverance. Like we can overcome any challenge that comes our way. It’s so anime. And like I said all of this could just be being by the personal things I’m going through. But it just moves me man.
Someone needs to write a "first contact" fanfic involving an idealistic but realistic take on the mushroom kingdom and the magical world it's from making first contact with the governments of a relatively non-magical earth. All of Brooklyn saw the powered up Mario and Luigi kicking Bowser's butt, it's impossible to cover something like that up and it's impossible for the government not to catch wind of it. that being said, I imagine that the super mushrooms and the other powerups would be in high demand by our world, they have so much uses besides combat, for example imagine foreman spike carrying two steel girders under his arms while using a super mushroom.
Illumination really just said "fuck it" and dropped the best version of the superstar theme of all time.
