Why I created my TH-cam Channel: Through my TH-cam Channel "Walking Tall with G-MAN" I strive to inspire and motivate people to never give up in life as well as using this platform to share my sporting passion.
When I was younger, I was told because of my height I wouldn’t be able to play a sport in school however I proved everyone wrong and played sport and became first-team cricket captain of my school.
Having dwarfism did force me to stop playing sport after varsity; however, I continued to share my passion through my TH-cam Channel.

Being a sufferer from depression myself I fully understood what it was like to have it through a development process happen to me and I still can't put it into words how I feel about his loss. Devastated.

It's so sad that I didn't see this video sooner. I can clearly see the pain in his eyes. It was so obvious he was under insane emotional distress. Rest in Peace brother. You will be deeply missed.
hey Renaldo, just want ti say you actually introduced me to G-man. He has pain in his eyes, yes, but does anyone know his cause of death or is it just assumed that it's suicide as comments suggest?
@@dripsa I called him a couple of times last year, we had good chats, but he wasn’t in a place to listen to and act upon the advice. I always knew it would end badly for him, sadly. I’d say it was the second option.

This kind of issue is clearly on a upward trajectory, and people need to start addressing the core reasons without waiting to be prompted by the media.

I can't believe I'm so late finding this out. I used to watch Gareth a lot, when I was not in a good place, we even exchanged a few messages. In recent years I have stopped watching Rugby so much and stopped keeping up with Gareth. Seeing him like this, it just so desperately sad,. What a wonderfully kind soul he was and I think the comments here demonstrate what an impression he made. Gareth you were small in stature but a giant of a man in all the ways that matter. I hope you are at peace and may your family take comfort in knowing that a community around the world shares their grief.

I want to be honest. I didn't see an awful lot of Gareth's content. I liked his stuff, I really liked his get up and go, the verve he had for life and living. It came across in his vids. I only heard of his death today. But, dear god, the pain Gareth was in comes across in this and is thoroughly heart breaking. To see what his problems did to him...it's hard to watch, and he was the one going thru it. It is so, so sad.
This has really affected me. Seeing another human being in this condition, brings tears to my eyes. IU had a bad bout of depression in my 20s, although I have wrestled with it off and on for much of my life. Seeing Gareth in this vid makes me think of what might have happened if had been less...lucky than I have been in my circumstances.
Depression / anxiety is a cruel, murderous illness. It fools you into thinking you're weak, when in actual fact you have to be tough to live with it. It fools you into thinking you're useless, so you apologise to everyone for being a burden to them, even tho they love having you around and are just worried about you. It eats you from the inside out, which makes it so corrosive. And seeing Gareth in so much pain is deeply, deeply sad. I am so sorry the world lost a a real light with his passing. He deserved so much more.
If anyone suffers with this, I truly hope you can find support and comfort. You are not a burden, you are not weak, you are not useless and you are not alone. There are millions of us. I don't know what else to say. I am truly sorry the world lost him.

It really is
To anyone else like me who is seeing this a few weeks too late as I am, and watched the whole thing through, this is my message: this is one of the many faces of what a deep, intense depression can look like. Inability to cope, to perform daily activities, to safely grieve losses like relationships, to feel grounded in a sense of one's self... It's gravely serious.
Therapy and anti-depressant medication is normally the strongest way to fight it, and telling your loved ones/support group is essential to inform your people of what you are going through and allow them to help how they can.
If you feel like you're alone in this world, my heart aches for you, because that thought is suffocating, and yet it's not the only perspective... So give yourself the gift of grace, a free, unmerited favor of love, and the blessing of life, and give yourself lots of sleep and rest. Do not use your energy for others, do what you need to survive: work as we must to keep fed and housed, take medications and get therapy as necessary, but take as much space as you need from the social expectations. We all have our own timelines to getting better.
If you or anyone that you know is battling depression, mental health issues, or having thoughts of self-harm, click on this link below and call your respective number. There are people all over the world who take these calls for free because we all know of someone who has battled with their mental health, and it's tragic when we lose another one of our bright lights to the sickness.
And check in with your people about mental health, I try to do so at least once per month since a crisis in my circle last year.
RIP Gareth, for you are now safe from the perils of our world. You will live on in our hearts, minds, words, and actions.

Just came across your channel. Your honesty and bravery is a rare thing in this world. I and countless others can see that. You need to see it too, acknowledge it and use it as a relentless driver. We live in a mostly vacuous cosmetic world where so many talk out their arses to fit in with the herd. Don't entertain self-pity for a second., no matter what happens to you .Treat it with contempt and give it no quarter. You will bounce back but make it the last time you have to do so. There will be more bumps in the road and disappointment. Sit down and devise the most powerful coping/redirection strategies you can think of. What inspires you? What are you passionate about? Sport, Music, art ,poetry, nature, faith? I found your video very inspirational. Liked and subscribed.
