England vs Springboks RECAP: England stun Springboks at the death

  • England scored three tries and rookie flyhalf Marcus Smith had a flawless kicking performance as they defeated the Springboks 27-26 at Twickenham on Saturday.
The Springboks scored a sole try and had to eke their points through the boot, while England was more enigmatic with the ball and posed far bigger danger than their visitors.
It was the "Rassie revenge game". His name was as obtrusive to proceedings as his body was conspicuously absent.
Erasmus face replica masks filled pockets of Twickenham, probably from expat South Africans who couldn't resist a sly dig at World Rugby authorities.
The Springboks are a team that fights for courses, and none came closer to their hearts than when one of their own was touched.
But England came out of the tunnel with more fight than the aggrieved party. They, too, had revenge foaming in the mouth from their last meeting at International Stadium Yokohama in 2019.
The hosts wore the occasion like the rose on their crest. They were white-hot from the start and got at the Boks, swinging huge punches from the first bell.

When I was younger, I was told because of my height I wouldn’t be able to play a sport in school however I proved everyone wrong and played sport and became first-team cricket captain of my school.
Having dwarfism did force me to stop playing sport after varsity; however, I continued to share my passion through my TH-cam Channel.

Gareth, I have followed and watched you for many years and I will continue to do so.
I love your Live feeds as it reminds me of when me and boys used to get together, knock back some jars and enjoy the game.
You are just extremely passionate and that came through during the end of your the stream when things were becoming chaotic. If you heard me at the RWC final when you guys were pounding us😆haha.
The game brings out emotions and it’s clear this RSA team have a very special place in your heart which is truly beautiful. The sport needs people like you.
I can’t imagine going through what you have been through this past year and the fact you are still going strong only evidences that you a strong person capable of inspiring so many people.
Thank you for all you do Gareth.
As always, love and respect from England brother ❤️👍👌

No need to apologise mate, you’re going through a rough patch at the minute and rugby is clearly your passion as it is mine and many others. It’s good to get all that negativity out, hell, I certainly do, especially in intense games like that!! A great great game, very pleased England came through in the end, it was a huge game for us! Keep up the good content. 🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

People can get very emotional about sport I notice sometimes when my life is getting me down I put hope in existential things like my team. But we have to try and remember it's a game for us it's not life. but for the players it's there life and they should all be respected for what they give us regardless of results. Looking forward to the next match 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿♥️🇿🇦💪

Don't dwell on it. I lived in Durban for 5 years, the pub banter used to be the best thing about SA v Eng games. Funny thing is, I've always supported Ireland in rugby as it was my Irish great grandfather who got me into it, but always got involved in the England games purely for the fun. Also, the majority of England fan's do my nut in lol.

England will probably brag now that they didn't even had their best players in the team against the boks on Saturday, because the boks also didn't have a few key players not just against England but through out the entire rugby championship and this November internationals series like RG Snyman, Cheslin Kolbe, Faf de Klerk, Pieter-Steph du Toit and Frans Malherbe.

If the boks just play more with the backline, like England do, then they will score much more tries because the backline uppers the tempo and intensity. I can't even remember a game were we scored more then 3 tries this year (except the Georgia game at the beginning of the year). Theres a simple reason why the boks don't score more then 2 tries in most games that they play and that is because they don't use the backline.

  • @johannrugby3811

I think Johan Ackerman must be the new bok head coach (assisted by Swys De Bruin), in the place of Jaques Nienaber and then Nienaber can shift back to his defence coach position. If we do that then I promise you all we will see more backline rugby because Ackerman and De Bruin has got more attacking mind sets. They say that the forward pack rugby style is our DNA but that's rubbish because we played beautiful back rugby in the past and also scored a few brilliant backline tries this year. I just don't see that Nienaber is made to be a head coach, defence coach, definitely, but not head coach. People like Johan Ackerman is a fantastic coach and he should've been given this chance to be the boks head coach a long time ago. I don't know why we picked a random bloke in our coaching staff to be our head coach since his never been a head coach before. Not saying Nienaber is a bad coach, just saying that there are a lot of better guys that have liften their names high to be the new boks coach Like Johan Ackerman. Nienaber is a brilliant defence coach(make no mistake) but I just don't see him as a great head coach since we also played inconsistent rugby this year.

Two cents rugby and the kiwi lads never lose their temper when the all blacks are playing witch is quit weird because they are New Zealanders, if you look at two cents rugby you would think that he doesn't even support the all blacks because he is just sooooo relaxed for some reason and I really can't understand why. It's not natural.

Just does my head in when South African's complain about unfair decisions when they got gifted so much in that game.
Eben Etzebeth should have got a red for his tackle on Marcus Smith 2:15 into the match. Not to mention nothing more than a pen for Frans dropping his knees into Smith’s back whilst he was unprotected on the ground. A Saffa also grabbed an English player in the face in the closing stages off the match but never got carded. Also England should have got like 3 penalties in the scrum, one for a Saffa not driving straight & the other two for tight heads not binding on the arm.
I have no problem with fan's calling out unfair refereeing, but when your team are the ones who are getting special treatment & getting away with vile behavior, and you still have the cheek to complain about unfairness & do it in such a vulgar manner, it forces some of your subscribers to lose a lot of respect for you.
You're just lucky that you acted that way towards England, because a lot of your subscribers aren't going to care.

    • @subwax

If you go through the game with a magnifying glass, you're going to find things - that jockey erasmus made 60 minutes out of going through a game like that - pity he doesn't post the ones where SA get away with things though.
