I know this video is a year old but I must echo others’ comments-you always cover things in such great detail! A pleasure to learn from you! Thank you!
Angie, you are my hero, I just got my new printer connected and ready to try HTV. Just found out about printable HTV and your video answered all my questions and showed me exactly what I need to get started. Thank you so much, you have a new subscriber that has a silhouette.
I have yet to see a more professional and helpful video with varying materials and processes than yours. Thank you SOO much! I am confused on how the product manufacturers word their material. It says it's Printable VINYL...but, it seems to be more of a printable fabric material as opposed to actual vinyl-but, that may just be my perception. Thanks again for this video-extremely helpful. :-)
So I don't need an extra pinter AND sublimation ink AND sublimation paper to put a desing on fabric??? That's GREAT! Thank you so much for your video. It helped me clarify all my doubts! You're the best!
This is awesome! Your instructions and projects were perfectly understandable (which I really enjoy watching your tutorials)! I never really understand printable heat transfer vinyl until now and I am envisioning a lot more projects with this method. I don't understand sublimation so this is perfect for my needs. Thank you so much, Angie!
I've learned so much from you during this quarantine. I subscribed about a month ago. Thanks for being so thorough and pleasant. Love from Houston, TX.🥰
I stumbled upon your video and it answered all the questions I had and I really like that you showed troubleshooting attempts when things were a little more stubborn. Definitely made me more confident to try this. Thank you for such a helpful video!
I've wasted so much vinyl because the backing will not separate from my printed image! I called my local shop and requested a different brand because of this. I'm glad to see you had difficulty with it also (not just me lol) and I will try the solution you had but it takes forever with some designs to do that with individual letters, etc. Also, when you don't use transfer tape the image curls up and before you can center it on heat press it is ruined (from the heat)! So frustrating! However, thanks for this video - I will keep trying! Guess I need to break out the easy press instead?
Love your videos - super clear and complete. I usually have to rewind and listen to videos several times but with your videos, I can absorb it on the first run through. I appreciate that! Question: when you say "cool completely" do you mean 15 minutes or so?
Hi Angie. Thanks for another awesome video! Please let us know how well the clothes wash? Does the design stay bright? I wonder how many washes it truly lasts? 😀
I've been looking for which printer, cricut product, and materials to get so I can begin making stickers, shirts, etc of my comic characters. Your TH-cam channel is really helping to make me feel less nervous about spending money on the machines, and more confident in which materials I want to use for stickers and such. Thank you SO much! Any advice on shopping for printable sticker paper or transfer material? I'm having a hard time finding which materials will hold up to washing or being outside.
I really like shirt that you're wearing in this video. The colors are so vivid. Can you please tell me which materials and method you used to create it? Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you so much for that info I have my Grandsons tea shirts sitting looking at me but my first attempt was more than rustic. Watching you do all those test has really helped Me understand more so hey ho I will give it a go.👍
What printing quality did you set your printer? The colors a very bright. Why do you have to reverse image for light vinyl? EXCELLENT VIDEO! THANK YOU! 😀
Great content, I enjoyed it but i think its uneven or unequal pressure that gave the wood design rusty look, may be you should try it on fabric and work on the pressure, if u will get d same result. I haven't use starcraft before but I have use forever product for both light n dark materials and I got great result with heat press.
I would say this is correct but there will always be uneven pressure on wood as the surface is never completely flat. The fabric pieces all worked fine.
Great video but why didn't you compare by using white printable htv on light/dark material too? Would that not have been a true comparison? Just wondering because I was most curious about the light printable being used!
Angie - thanks for the great information. I just subscribed and have found your videos to be SO helpful. I have a quick question - when using wood, have you found anyway to make the result not so "rustic" and more crisp and clear the way the transfers look on fabric?
I have not with this material. I have used tattoo paper to transfer images to wood with good luck. However, the wood grain always shows through so it is a bit "farmhouse" by nature.
1 question, but first I'd like to thank you for this awesome video, now I'd like to know about water resistantce and sealing? Is it going to be just fine, or is there some extra steps, like applying some polyurethane spray?
Is there a special ink you have to use with your inkjet with the printable vinyl? I'm asking because the regular inkjet ink is water soluble, which if you've ever dripped something on a printed page you know what I mean. And since you need to be able to wash any clothes you use this on, I was curious how well regular ink would hold up. The same issue with putting prints on wood since you would most likely end up sealing the project with one or more coats of polyurethane or varnish. Thanks for the great videos and for all you do to help this community out.
Hey Angie! Thank you so much for all the videos you make! They are amazing and SUPER helpful! I have a question: i use an inkjet printer for sublimation, and i'm wondering if this Starcraft Printable HTV for dark materials, for example, would any black lines appear on the black t-shirt (100% coton) ??? Thank you so much!!!! Keep up your great work!!!
Great video that really gave me some new ideas as I have been struggling with heat transfers. Question: did your transfer tape not melt when you put it under the heat press?
Thanks for referring me to this video! It was very helpful. I do have an additional question: what does the fabric on the onesie or the shirt and bag feel like afterward? Are they rough, smooth, or do they feel like they're "infused"? Thanks.
Your videos are so helpful, glad I found this channel. Btw I have few questions. Does sublimation paper work on 100% cotton tshirts? Or is htv better for cotton material?
In my experience in the distant past, ink jet printer ink couldn't handle getting wet. Is it the type of ink you are using or the Starcraft product that keeps the ink from running when wet? Since you're putting this on clothing, it has to be washable.
Washing instructions are: turn garment inside out, wash in cold water with mild detergent, do not bleach. Dry on low heat or hang dry. Do not iron directly on transfer. I don't know what the magic is but is is washable.
Thanks a million ! You reckon i can use this on leather? i just need to iron on small flag images on white leather.. so nothing big just tiny images. If yes, which would be better white or dark? is this any different from heat transfer paper?
What heat transfer material would you recommend if we want to avoid including white backgrounds for more intricate/complex designs or outlines around images?

My printable HTV designs always bleed after I was fabric. I don’t use fabric softener and I wash them many days after I ironed it on the t-shirts. I’ve tried putting mod podge for fabric on top and they still bleed. Any suggestions for sealing my printable HTV? Do they sell clear HTV that I can iron on top? I’m using epson EcoTank et4800 with ink that it came with, 522 which I recently learned it’s dye. That’s the ink that printer calls for. I don’t know if it’s ok to switch to 502 ink which is pigment. Thinking maybe it’s the dye ink causing problems?? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I think this is heat transfer paper rather than heat transfer vinyl. The washing instructions reinforce the thought. Does it come off after after about 25-30 washes? Also does it feel soft/rubbery to the touch or papery?
@@AngieHolden The thing is, to print on proper HTV, you need to use latex ink. Standard inkjet printers don't work, which is why I was confused when you said vinyl. On the starcraft page it calls it "heat transfer material"

The one I’m using now just runs and peels off which is so annoying
Any suggestions for other brands of printable HTV
I don't have a ton of recommendations as I am not a huge fan of most brands of this product. Sorry!
What heat settings do you use for printable htv. I have done it om different settings and when zi wash the shirt the decal comes off
You will need to follow all the directions for the brand that you are using.
How do we create a design of for example a family member's photo to print on the htv?
Thank you in advance.
You can use this for photos.
you have link on amazon where you get your the baby outfit ?
I don't and it has been so long I don't even remember where it came from.
Hi Angie where else can we buy this? is not available from direct vinyl supply
I know I bought the same thing off of Amazon!
I following all your steps and my cricut explorer 2 is only cutting the picture into a square... why do you think that is? I appreciate your help!
Did you flatten to a square? Most likely that is what happened. Or when you uploaded you didn't remove the background.
I have a question, I have used the same material to make shirts, but when I placed that sheet (I don’t know the name if you could please type it) it transfers the image, what I’m doing wrong? Besides I used a normal iron.
I would just say to go back and read the instructions that come with what you purchased carefully. Each brand is different.
Hi Angie, When using the vinyl on shirts does it feel like vinyl on the shirt, or does it feel like it is within the shirt? Thank you
It will feel like vinyl on the shirt. The only thing that fuses with the fibers is sublimation or Infusible Ink.
@@AngieHolden Thank you Angie...
Do you use sublimation ink or a normal ink printer on the htv dark paper?
This is regular inkjet ink. This process does not last as long as sublimation though.
Do you use a regular ink for the printable htv or do you need a special ink for it?
Regular ink.
Thabks for your help
Hi, I am confused, I tried using a Siser Mask on my DTV and it took it off the print, I am getting so confused and discouraged.m
The siser mask should work with DTV. maybe let it dry longer?
I always wondered why print & cut doesn’t work for me. I do have the cricut joy. :(
The Cricut Joy will not do print then cut.
Thank you for the tutorial! I enjoy your videos.
Glad you like them!
how do you get your image you printed to cut out on the cricut? Do you have to download the image to cricut? If so how do you do that?
Upload image to design space to print. I have videos on print then cut if you need them.
