You should have your dad on more, he is awesome
Dad was thinking of The Brave One, the Jodie Foster vigilante movie. Love it when the panel gets stumped.
That was a deep cut from Papa Simmons.
Thank you! I was hoping someone in the comments would have answer for this.
Papa Simmons is awesome. It would be really nice to have the stories and wisdom of his generation recorded for posterity. Please have him on as much as you can.
Man, I have been on a binge of Rewatchables, I never thought I would find a group of people who loved Michael Mann as much as my friends and I.....I HAD TO GET IT ON!
Lol. Don't waste my mmmotherf*cking time!
Had to get it on
I’m on a 2 month binge ! I didn’t know Simmons did movie reviews fennesy knows what’s up most the time
@@KevinOblivion ….it is the juice
@@KUATO_COBRETTI “ be riiiising….”
The East Boston chatter is amazing. Literally no one, even the biggest Beantown homers, knows how to get there (aside from the T). This is (among other things) such perfect commentary on how bewildering driving in Boston is.
Boston is the most difficult city I’ve ever driven. Forget looking at Google maps and budget extra money for parking 🤦♂️
I have to admit, I didn’t give this film much of a chance, I thought it was Man on Fire-lite and passed it over. Then I was flicking channels and caught it and have never looked back- rewatchable Classic for sure
Deniro is the answer for desert island actor filmography - because not only do you get all the Scorsese films, but you also get the Focker stuff and analyze this/that for some comedy, joker, the best godfather, cape fear/taxi driver, tarantino for Jackie Brown, some action with frankenstein and backdraft, touching drama like awakenings and this boys life. Heat.
Must do Rewatchables:
1. Apocalypse Now
2. To live and die in LA
3. The Thing
4. The king of Comedy
5. Raging Bull
6. Dog Day afternoon
7. Mulhuland Drive(they don’t seem like lynch guys but still)
8. The French Connection
9. Chinatown
10. Drive
I'm willing to bet they do To Live And Die In L.A. in honor of William Friedkin since Bill and Chris are such big fans of Manhunter and William Peterson is in both. Plus To Live And Die In L.A. is a precursor to L.A. Takedown and thus Heat.
@@spencerkindra8822 definitely hope they do it soon. To live and die in LA feels like a quint essential rewatchable
@@Redclxxd agreed. I’m fairly certain Bill, Chris, and Sean all love that movie.
To Live & Die in LA is an imperative. I believe they brought it up during the Manhunter rewatchables pod (one of my faves) and it's just SO SO GOOD.
I stand with CR, Drive is fucking incredible. It deserves to be featured on the rewatchables.
"you never want to be the wife in a vengeance movie" ...love it
Denzel is just on Mt. Rushmore period
THE BRAVE ONE - Jodie Foster vigilante movie your Father was referencing.
I feel like Chris held back his typical Rewatchables zoomies around Bill's dad for this episode
He didn't come for help. He came for permission
I love the first 20 mins of Equalizer. He’s reading his books, he’s folding his napkin, he’s looking up Chloe Moretz’s skirt….. What’s the problem?
Two notes on The Equalizer pod - 1) Doug McCray worked at Boston Sand and Gravel in The Town and 2) When Teddy visits Robert’s apartment, he never actually says he’s a policeman. When Robert asks if he wants to leave a card, Teddy just smiles, re-enforcing that he never claimed to be police.
I love how Bill keeps saying "My dad" like he isn't sitting right there.
I agree about Melissa Leo. Haven't watched the sequel. Don't want to see her die. She was my favourite supporting character. In my universe that character is still alive.
I just saw this one, maybe a year ago. Was surprised how good it was.
I think you miss a lot without the first 20 minutes... The 100 novels, the DIY "My Songs" CD and the Faberge eggs, Russian iconography, and Ballets Russes music are an elemental layer of this film. The bloodied Orthodox Madonna is an important shot... The film is a meditation on deep perception, creativity, (OCD) the Arts in culture as well... "Bridges"... "The Equaliser"... !!! This meta-layer unfolds in the first 20 minutes. The Foreigner T-Shirt...!!!
McCall offers $9800 because anything over $10,000 raises suspicion and triggers bank alerts
That Bill's dad is not on 80 percent of episodes is a sin of a missed opportunity... what a natural. P.S.ESPECIALLY Man On Fire
We're gonna a Re-Fire pod w/ Bill's dad
Man on Fire is a much better movie than The Equalizer
Looking good Dr.Bill!
These in person videos are great!
I don't wanna spoil anything. But people get equalized in this.
For the desert-island question, not that she'd be my pick, Sigourney popped came to mind. First 4 Alien movies, 2 Ghostbusters, 'Cabin in the Woods,' 'Paul.' I haven't seen either Avatar, but she was in one or both. I don't remember how good it was, but I think she was in 'Dave.' And she might have a couple good ones I'm forgetting. Only a few GREAT flicks, but a bunch that entertain.
How about To Live and Die in L.A.?? Seems an ideal choice for Simmons/Ryan and a 4K version was just released this summer.
This should have Van
Ive known david harbour's name for a long time, bc he has done a lot of stuff, and has always reminded me, a bit, of michael shannon
I love this movie. Saw it in theaters the week it came out. Pop corn movie
Cmon CR I Need My Weekly Wayne Jenkins 🤣🤣🤣
Papa simmons got that HAIR
I always wondered what happened to The Greek from The Wire. And now I know, he entered witness protection and is pretending to be Bill's dad
You guys talking about the softball game the nwxt week had me pulling my car over to laugh safely. That's top tier Probably Unanswerable Questions.
there should be a documentary on Mr. Simmon's Barber... that would truly be a Rewatchable... fax!!!
Do NOT badmouth Santarpio's, Bill. Their pizza is awesome.
Liam Neeson - Unknown, good 5 o’clocker
Boondock Saints and The Punisher in 04 were also major vigilante movies imo
Please do a “Expendables” or “Prometheus” pod. Both are great but very different action movies
Bill’s dad look like the Greek from the wire
Is this the apex of The Equalizer or is it when Rob Reiner is trying to watch it in The Wolf Of Wall Street? "I'M WATCHING THE FUCKING EQUALIZER!!!" Lol.
I'd love to smoke weed with Bill's dad. He seems like a cool hang, and would probably have TONS of stories...
Colombiana is another good vigilante movie
I hate to break it to everyone, but Equalizer 3 is definitely a 5 o'clocker
Denzel gets both Deniro & Eastwood type movies. Good points Chris!
Now we need equalizer 2!
No, we really don't; it jumped the shark.
On the gritty early 80s tip, a shout out to Vigilante and Walking the Edge - both starring the mighty Robert Forster.
Classic
It’s Cruise. Bill gonna change back in 2 weeks.
Hearing Bills dad bring up Brockton was crazy city of champs lmaooo
Bill’s dad looks like Bill in old man make up. The strongest genes.
I see a 21st century version of Mark Twain.
A Denzel movie where he doesn't win the movie: Inside Man. Clive Owen made that movie his bitch
There are so many John Wick/Equalizeresque iconic movies from Korea and Japan that these guys are apparently completely oblivious to. A Bittersweet Life anyone?
Hi I’m fairly new to this channel,
And I can’t get enough but I’ve been looking for older episodes video versions but I haven’t been able to find them all audio versions are on Spotify but it is more fun to watch,
Is there a place where to find them?
Please send me in the right direction…
Greetings from a new fan from Denmark:-)
I don't think they recorded them live much in the early days. This channel or The Ringer is your best bet to find them.
Josey Wales is top notch.
Street kings, one of the best vigilante movies with keanu
The Brave One is the Jodie Foster movie where she went vigilante.
do EQ 2 please
Bridge on the River Kwai rewatchables plz
Does the Crow count as a Vigilante movie??🤔
Marcello Mastroianni... Eyes Wide Shut?
does that include children books?
Biggest picking nit is the cop pulling the chain to reveal all the cash and trussed up henchmen. Wouldn't he have already had to do that to find everything? Meaning he reset the whole contraption just to do it again for the other cop.
Papa Simmons or Einstein?
This is a poor mans Man on Fire, but its still damn good in its own way.
Blasphemy--The Equalizer is a great movie in its own right. Equalizer 2 jumped the shark though...
@@elliota.1063 I’m staying it is great, but MOF has a little more drama, s little more depth.
When's the last time CR *didn't* do Wayne Jenkins?
I just wanted to ask if Eyes Wide Shut was a Christmas movie?
No way. Drive is a great movie
filmography of one actor --- I might go with De Niro
you get: godfather pt2, taxi driver, the deer hunter, raging bull, once upon a time in america, angel heart, midnight run, goodfellas, awakenings, backdraft, cape fear, this boy's life, a bronx tale, casino, heat, sleepers, cop land, jackie brown, wag the dog, analyze this, meet the parents, stardust and joker.
Btw, in NO WAY is Equalizer 2 better than Equalizer 1. I just couldn't let misinformation that drastic go unaddressed; sorry.
Best actor of all time and you mention Stallone? GTFO. Denzel should be pissed off being on THAT list.
How do they start a video about the movie The Equalizer and not once reference the fact it was a TV show on CBS from 1985 to 1989. I guess they don't want people to know they changed the main character.
How is Gran Torino a vigilante movie?
Is this the newest movie they have ever done?
top gun maverick and once upon a time in hollywood
Down University. Are you down?
Bill dug up Albert Einstein just for a rewatchables pod??

Nic Cage filmography >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"The Outlaw Josey Wales." OMG......The film is nothing but Lost Cause mess. However, I can't get enough. Excellent film.
I found the movie to be lacking in many ways. Denzel was pretty much unstoppable. At no point did it feel like he was in danger. The only fun scenes were when Denzel and the main villain were talking, but that had a flaccid ending with the villain getting taken down way too easily.
I understand Denzel is supposed to be a force of nature here but there's no tension at all. Just feels like another Taken with a less interesting premise.
Honey has an acidic pH of between 3.2 and 4.5. When applied to wounds, the acidic pH encourages the blood to release oxygen, which is important to wound healing. An acidic pH also reduces the presence of substances called proteases that impair the wound healing process.
Equalizer is good but Equalizer 2 was better. Supposed to be an Equalizer 3. What is your next Rewatchable?
As I watched original series, then it was strange with Denzel - he is not Mccall.
The correct answer is Samuel L. Jackson, he is in like 200+ movies.
I think the idea of the OCD stuff is to demonstrate his meticulous nature so it does pay off.
The Equalizer was OK. Not in Denzel's Top 10 best movies.
Book of Eli is better than The Equalizer
anyone but chloe grace moretz in this role. so miscast
Millionaire Bill, still dragging his ass, covering Disney, etc., B4 real films like the original: The Thing. Prob cause he sucks, &/or just waiting for the right moment. To waste even more yrs on another cable-tv film. With commercials, of course.
Jack Reacher, anyone?
