Hi - in theory in the UK it should be registered as it has a camera even though it is less than 250g. But since it can't really fly too far from the user - I don't think it can cause too much mayhem unlike other drones. As long as the user doesn't annoy other people, I don't think the CAA will be too strict.
Hi - before launching the drone you need to make it face you, and then it will use AI to remember you as the target - no phone or fob needed, just yourself
Can you use the drone if you are in a crowd in a different city and you are having it track you only in the crowd or is that a no-no with these things?
Hi - it's a shame the Pro Max version is so much more expensive otherwise I might have been tempted. I think a lot of these mistakes though will only apply to the X1 rather than the Pro models as they have obstacle avoidance and can fly over cliffs, water etc
Hey Tim. Happy New year. Nice Vieo! Interesting drone. I got one for Christmas and am just getting good at flying it indoors. It's a simple one but it has a camera. Nothing usable for creating content but still fun. Your's is much more advanced! Congratulations on the popular video!
Hey! Happy New Year to you too! I assume you mean you have one of those little indoor toy drones to play with? I have a little one as well which I use for practice flying and usually smashing into furniture!
Hi Ben, cool, it's fun! enjoy! I've tried it a couple of times, seen on this video th-cam.com/video/D5lspQTeLT4/w-d-xo.html but I think the controller is really needed as it's tricky and fiddly with the mobile only
Hi - thanks for the question. No, definitely do not fly this guy over water or big drops like cliffs or buildings. It has a downward facing sensor and a max height of 15m, so will just drop down the cliff till it finds the ground.
Hi Step, thanks for watching. I haven't tested it in crowded areas - it might not be in the drone rules. I think it depends how crowded exactly and if you are hidden from view among other people or can be clearly seen by the Hover
Hi - as it's under 250g for CAA / EURO rules, in theory, as it has a camera it should have an Operator ID. But as it can't fly too far unlike a DJI drone, I doubt you'd get stopped and asked for anything. But an Operator Id costs £10 for a year so not expensive to be safe.
Hey there! My hover is having some kind of issues when I activate the orbit mode. At some point, it records like on the opposite site and not the objective (not sure how to explain it) I’m worried my shots are not looking good 😭
Hi Jim, that's an interesting question. As the hover has no object avoidance on the side I think it would probably not get through doors or crash into things in follow mode. But I think it might be possible to do it in custom mode, manually controlling the drone. I think I'll have an experiment, thanks for the question
Hi! Thanks for the comment and question - unfortunately not, it's only going to follow humans. In fact it refuses to fly until it can memorize the beautiful human face before it launches! However, it's possible to fly it manually with a mobile, so could sort of follow an animal if you are really nimble with the fingers 😀
Thank you for making this video - nice shoreline. It's a lot of money for me -- So, I am watching at least 100 videos. :) So far in other videos I have watched - I like the dolly view the best, as well as the noise filter. I'd like to see how fast you can run at it in dolly mode - Is it catchable? And exactly what happens when the battery runs out in flight - does it land or fall? Can you disable the voice notifications on the drone - because that seems to me to be a battery waster - unless there is a warning for low battery. What would happen if it landed in a small puddle or fine sand? - I think it needs some detachable landing legs to keep the belly of it from getting wet in case of a ground landing.
Hi John - thanks for the comment and questions. I can answer some of these now - I don't know how fast it'll go as I'll probably collapse running before I outpace it! If it runs out of battery it will enter landing procedure and try and land where it is - but it won't care if it's suitable landing point, it will just go for it so hopefully it's on flat land! Yes, you can certainly disable the voice notifications as they are a bit annoying. It won't care about where it lands, so will get wet in a puddle or on fine sand etc. It's always best to just either grab it from the air or put the hand underneath for it to land on your soft palm 😀
@@4T-Tech A friend of mine just bought himself a DJI mini 2 for Xmas - but, I like the vlogability (if thats a word) of this drone better. Maybe it's the lense I like? I dont like and am concerned with the battery life of 10 minutes. May I suggest another video from you detailing how you manage the short battery life - do you use a stop watch? Do use a power bank? If so, what brand powerbank and can the power bank keep your batteries (assuming you have extras) charged without too much wait in between battery swaps? There is no SD card - correct? so, how do you move or transfer videos to your phone or computer? anyway -- sorry I probably sound like a pesky kid asking a million questions, but at 59 years old, I have had my fair share of buyers remorse. - Thanks
Hi John, these questions are great! What a good idea about another video - I'm in the process of planning a video to answer these questions along with others which will be available soon. You are welcome to ask questions at any time, I'm happy to help! And I also suffer from buyers remorse too, much stuff lying unused in my cupboard! Thanks Tim
I just purchased this drone, and I like it! But there are pros and cons. On the positive side, it does most of what it says it does; on the negative side, there is only a 10 or 12-minute battery life, even though it comes with two batteries, and it takes up to 4 hours to charge 1 battery. I see the advertising showing people getting followed on their bikes; I guess the bike ride is less than 10 minutes long. There is minimal instruction on how to use it; also, when sharing the video or picture, it's not as clear as the original. I had to research TH-cam to find out how to work things; with that being said, I give it a 7.5 out of 10 rating.
4 hours? You need to change your plug or cable or something. Mine charges in less than an hour on the drone, 35 minutes using the dual charger (and for some reason I got 3 batteries, 2 plus 1 already on the drone). You're right it's not a flying Gopro for the whole bike ride, the idea is to pull over, pull it out your pocket, pull off a wheelie or whatever while it watches, put it back in your pocket and continue your ride.
Hi - thanks for the comment. I agree with @bigglyguy8429 - a 4 hours charge is definitely not right. Yes, mine is the same maybe 1 hour or so on the drone and much less on the charger. Check that you are only charging one device at a time and not a low powered 12W USB-A socket. Should be USB-C 30W and above. Like @bigglyguy8429 said, this Hover is not meant to follow an entire cycle ride, it's just for doing quick shots perhaps a min or so at a time max. Whip it out the pocket, do a shot, pop it back in. Even DJI drones £1000 batteries only go for about 20 mins or so.
Hi - thanks for your feedback. Indeed I agree the music may be too much in this earlier video and have stopped using background music mostly for recent and future videos.! Best wishes, Tim
I bought it while they were crowd-funding. It was pretty shitty for the first few months because it only launched 20% of the time. Recently, had it in orbit mode, after completing the partial orbit, it came back to me, but I bumped and it flew over 30 feet or more away and landed in the water. Smh
Hi Adrienne, sorry to hear you seem to have got a bad one. I also got mine during the crowd-funding but towards the end in the last few batches. Maybe I got lucky or the early ones had issues. Are they going to replace it for you?
@4T-Tech they are not taking responsibility. They requested the app log which I provided to them but then they never told me what the logs said or gave me a solid reason for what happened. I explained the situation to them and gave them pictures of the scene and at first they tried to say it was because I flew over the ocean (I didn't). Then said it was because I was in zoom out mode (I was in orbit). They then said it was because I bumped it. I have bumped it many times and it has also bumped into many things and never few away. This was the first time that happened. They offered to repair it at cost or give me a discount for a replacement.

But since it can't really fly too far from the user - I don't think it can cause too much mayhem unlike other drones. Unfortunately, under the sub-250g drone rules it would not be allowed to fly a drone in a crowd of people.

What is the max wind resistance of this HoverAir
Hi - it's about 17mph (27kmph) wind speed, so not much really! This video might help with other questions: th-cam.com/video/qjSMb29eG9s/w-d-xo.html
how do you remove the battery? is there a release button?
Hi, it's just a case of gripping the battery tightly where the slots are and tugging upward. It's a little disconcerting at first, but soon pops out.
Thanks for this video. I just got one yesterday and I am still getting used to it and learning more...
Hi - I'm glad this was useful and hope you enjoy using your Hover!

thansk for the info do you know it can be used on water like paddleboard, sailing follow me ?
Hi - no the Hover can't be used over water as it has no sensor that can cope with reflections, it will most likely fly off, or land in the water.
Thanks for that! That could have been an expensive mistake lol
What about licences and taking it abroad?
Hi - as it's under 250g for CAA / EURO rules, in theory, as it has a camera it should have an Operator ID. But as it can't fly too far unlike a DJI drone, I doubt you'd get stopped and asked for anything. But an Operator Id costs £10 for a year so not expensive to be safe.

Hi! So if I understand correctly, the hover is doing an orbit but facing the outside and not you in the center - is this right?
@@4T-Tech that’s exactly what I wanted to say 🙁
I wonder if this could be used indoors for real estate promo videos. Would it steer clear of walls if I had it follow me around the house?

Generally yet it will, as it follows your path, so don't walk into any walls.
I had a very gentle crash and now it flys but stops and wants to land immediately while blinking yellow 😭 any advice?
Hi there, blinking yellow is usually an error and normally displays as a notification in the Hover app so you can see the reason?
How high can it fly?
Hi - it can fly a maximum of 15m
Great video, Will it follow other objects other than yourself? Like a Radio controlled car or animals/pets as an example?
