I love how smoothly the theme music flows between audacious brass and soothing woodwind. However much Warhorse is to be credited for historical accuracy the crowning glory of this game is in the writing. The story is as engaging as any classic novel. The characters are genuine and fully human.
Keith could not handle the mighty west-slavic tutorial of the year 1403 Even the baby starting area is too much Well, god bless his soul, for ye, who wants to be a rogue-type character, have to go through massive heaps of bullsh*t for it to work
This game is an unpolished gem, a "diamond in the rough". It has a few glitches and bugs, it's a bit clunky sometimes and has weird collisions and performance issues... but boy, it really nailed the authentic medieval feeling if you can get over the flaws and offers you a ton of possible solutions to every quest. It's a lot of fun for me!
ya Im a bit of a historic nerd, going to medival fairs and dressing up in cloths from teh diferent periods and do a bit of role play :). But mostly I really really love the way the do combat and I dont mean the gameplay but the animations and realism in how people move, the tactics involved and the way you hath to think, react in the combat. I have trained in the medival arts mostly 2 handed swords fore about 8 yers and also sword and shiled and since we follow teachings from German swords masters manuscripts from the 12 hundred until the early 17 hundered yers I can say that oooh ya this is the most realistic combat I have seen in any game or movie well lol exept fore some very minor fighting styles like how theay hold there swords infront of them and by this I mean that you NEVER shuld have eny part of your arms too faar from your body. You want to shield as much as you can with your sword before you make a move or you most likely will get it cut off. Also not to mention the fact that leather not to mention any cloths dont have a chanse agasint eny bladed weapon let alone a sword or an ax lol. Even if the weapon is blunt with the force of a hit from a sword your arm wold most likely be easely broken or cut off if you dont react in time without an armour and with the heavier weapons there is no way in hell that something other then the most glancing blow wold not caouse you serious hurt without an armour and even with armour. oooh lol I wrote way too much sry but you started talking about realism and I just wanted to agree and give what I hope to be is a bit of interesting info :)
Well, they had to make some cuts to the realism to make the gameplay work. Like the enemies holding their weapons too far away from the body - that's done to make their intention easier to read for the player. It's to make up for beeing limited to only two senses when playing a game and for technical limitations. But yeah, the developers did a great job of simulating the experience. Also, i live in germany, and my home is still a few hundred kilometers away from Bohemia, but the game world looks like what i see when i just go outside (well, minus the streets and modern houses). It's incredible believable.
ya I can imagine so, it being realistic and ture to your home apart from the dirt and missing cars and so on lol :). I live in Sweeden so I know a bit abot how things look in our part of the world :). We got a medival festival fore 1 week every yer in the near summer on the Iland called Gottland and man this game realy looks like the town there during that festival :)
Your comment makes me feel so old since the issues you stated are nothing compared to issues i faced in playing games before there was steam and the early days of the internet and dial up modems lol. Seriously this game looks great though now if some dev could make a braveheart rpg or well a game in that era and epic splendor i could die happy. :)
The easiest way to deal with Kunesh is to just sneak up behind him and knock him out. A proper fist fight can be challenging as the game will not allow you to block or dodge for another eight hours.
"If you get caught stealing, the consequences were kinda severe back then." Me, having the Firestarter achievement: You have no idea. Edit: and then you got the achievement too. Haha!
33:10 - I can't believe you didn't remember the conversation with your mother and how she very clearly said that Fritz was one of your friends and would be found hanging out at the tavern all day. I'm sitting here, yelling at the screen, "GO TO THE TAVERN!"
Keith yaaay! I'm really glad you're doing this. I've been playing and I really love the game so far, with the only caveat being that the combat can be kind of slow and clunky at first, but I really hope you like it and we get a huge playlist of it X) Hope you like it too, good luck Edit: Also speech is a surprisingly valid way to go if you invest heavily and do it properly you can actually get through a lot of the game with nonviolent Solutions. No Fallout 4 Quest structure here lol Edit 2: Oh my God at the end there... i didn't even know that was possible lol yeah talk about an effective way to communicate to the player that actions have consequences... damn
I play this on PS4 and thought it was just me who felt that turning left was faster than turning right. At first I thought the right analog stick on my Dual Shock 4 pad was wearing out! Strange how it does that, though. Wonder why?
Im starting to watch your series today...i followd a dude that played this game but he quit...so i had to find a new person...hope you play sidequest and everything...im excited!
My first impression is that the game appears very neat with nice graphics, (supposedly) authentic setting, interesting mechanics (speech, gambling), but the actual gameplay is kinda clunky (combat, sneaking, the fact that every dialogue has to load for some time even on Keith's monster of a computer) and annoying (nebulous independent passage of time, restrictive saves).
the loading seams to be caused by what computer your ucing I have not seen enyone having such long loading screens as Keith so maby he shuld mix a litle witht eh graphics settings
hmm allright hope that it gets fixed eather way but I watched 2 youtubers before Keith started and one of them is a streamer and he hath like maby 1 sec of loading screen max
I agree with you in most cases except in sword play (as that's what I primarily use) and archery. Horseback fighting is not nearly fletched out expect in archery and as per expected its kinda hard to shoot accurately while moving. On the up hand if you have good aim like me a head shot to anything unprotected is an insta-kill as I have experinced when accidentally getting someone with a helment on in the eye
Lol this game was so damn hard at the start but once you get used to fighting and have good armor and realize this is not a hack and slash game because 2 guys or more literarly murder you
ik im late but when radzig sets up camp to get ready to attack the bandit camp i wait for radzig and his knights to sleep and then knock them out i got the best armour in the game
I have found that this game REALLY does not like overclocking. I had it crash every few minutes when i had my GPU overclocked and since i went back to stock settings with my gpu it works like a charm. And the music... so lovely.
Just really hope your play through is enjoyable for you. I had to return it because it’s riddled with bugs, mixed with the god awful saving system... A bug flung me in the air and killed me making me lose so much progress... and it happened 3 damn times.
Honestly this guy seemed like such a game snob through this episode 😂 hope it gets better later on if he'd focus more on the game than his frames it might new a better experience lol
Such a negative vibe about this game from you and comments. Checking first episode on another channel the response is super positive. I wonder why it's like that.
Depends on the person I guess. This game is set in a civil war that actually took place so we cannot choose the outcome or affect it, we can only come up with different ways to achieve those outcomes. I personally find that very interesting in an RPG. This game also has a lot of older rpg mechanics. Customization, weapons and armor degrading if they are not maintained, hunger and exhaustion, the ability to starve to death, food poisoning, getting poisoned by plants if your herbalism isn't high enough, not having a set charisma for speech checks but rather it goes against the person your speaking with as they have their own speech checks. This is not a game for everyone. People who don't like managing all the things that you need to in an old fashioned rpg won't like it. It's something of a niche game. However, Warhorse, the developers were also the publishers. They didn't have to jump through hoops or anything and got to develop the game they wanted to. I personally find it highly refreshing playing a game that, aside from patchwork that is needed, is a complete product. It's not a game as service and there are no micro-transactions. It's a complete product at purchase minus the patching. Very few games are like that these days. I also happen to love rpgs.
I thought the descions was just a gimmick but I watched another playthrough that did it totally different and we actually saw the town getting attacked and the army charging. Sucks you got caught and missed it it was a very cool cutscene.

I'm using the one which needs at least one Schnapps in your inventory and it works fine. Was too much of a hassle to find a bed or too expensive to get more Schnapps when you have to go quickly.
The only thing missing is the save on exit and they'll be adding that in patch 1.3. Save items are cheap, just make it yourself, you can brew 3 for less than 5 gold. Finished the game without the mod and I didn't mind the save system, finding bed is just a fast travel away and I have schnapps on me and on my horse whenever I need it.

I prefer motion blur on because it makes lower framerates less noticeable, and as soon as you turned it off, the frame rate looked more choppy. It's funny and ridiculous that movies are shot at only 24 frames per second, but nobody complains about crappy frame rate when watching them. Why? Because motion blur blends the frames together, that's why. Same thing in video games.
Wait… wtf was that ending? Thing is supposed to try and be realistic, but when you get caught by the guard, you can't even say the truth: you were trying to get back your property. Hell, you should be able to ask the guard to help you get it… Seems totally unfair and unreasonable to punish the player that arbitrarily to me.
You could also go to your father and explain the situation and he'll just give you money and say he'll deal with Kunesh himself. Or you could sneak up from behind him and knock him out and take the key then take all the items to your dad and he'll take them and give you the money for how much they're worth, or you could wait until Kunesh wakes up and he'll give you his key because he feels he got beat up and he knows we're in the right. Or you could beat him up with your friends. Or you could pick the locks. This game offers so many solutions.
Glad you're playing this. I was interested in myself but I have no desire to support the bigot in charge so this is a great way for me to experience it.
First RPG in many years that I do not even want to try, I don't like the look of it, I don't like voice acting ( really flat and boring sounding ) and I do not like all the black screen loading, which takes away the flow of the game. Also for an RPG the saving mechanic is too clunky. I watched another play of it which is a little further in, but I really cannot even watch it being played looks as boring as hell.
Chris Shaw Its too bad you feel that way if it helps this wasnt a triple a title it was developed by a small studio if i remember correctly this maybe their second or first title i could be mistaken still though. Even still not every games made for everyone.
I've seen a lot of play throughs of this game, but never have I seen anyone die in the tutorial town prison.
Underrated comment. This was hilarious
That's what I did.
For once a Let's Player said he was going in blind and wasn't lying his pantaloons off.
I did...the first time I played! Got thrown in jail....Cumans attacked...."You died!"
Tutorial town has a prison? 😆

The Dark Souls of the Tutorials.
Wasn't that Cuphead? (joking)
This game feels so relevant...
What were you doing last night?

“Game Over: You have died and jail”
*WHEEZE*
haha, where's the burning to death in a jail cell tutorial?
CHARLES THE FOURTH KING OF BOHEMIA AND HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR WILL HAUNT YOU EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THIS GOD FORSAKEN GAME
On the list of possible endings, I'm guessing that was the 'worst' ending.
wow i never ntoicied you can see your dad working at the forge in the title screen pan over the village
33:10 - I can't believe you didn't remember the conversation with your mother and how she very clearly said that Fritz was one of your friends and would be found hanging out at the tavern all day. I'm sitting here, yelling at the screen, "GO TO THE TAVERN!"

Omg, watching the sword fight tutorial make my head spin. 😂😂😂
The german person in town is named deutsch. How subtle.
In medieval times you took a name corresponding with something about you. Either your profession, a trait, or even descendance :)
Im starting to watch your series today...i followd a dude that played this game but he quit...so i had to find a new person...hope you play sidequest and everything...im excited!
Actually, depending on how far back you go, forks weren't really used, if at all...
Just started playing this so hell yeah, subscribed and thanks for the play. Im watching them all
This game is f****** amazing bruh
Love your videos 👍.
I never seen someone fail so bad in a prologue befoe, so funny lmao.

In the German Version is his Name Heinrich not Henry ;)
Lol was just chilling waiting for the death reveal
That's amazing!
If my laptop could handle this game i would without a doubt play it.
Dude you're amazing to watch, first time i don't get bothered by a person's attitude while playing a nice game. So nice.
Bůh ti žehnej Jindřichu. (God bless you Henry) translate from Czech language.
Welcome to the unforgiving tutorial.
It's great to see you playing more wrpgs again.
YES, glad youre playing this

stop using the witch's alchemy table it's cursed lol
Yesssssss was hoping for this play through
Yes I've been looking forward to this but a word of warning you'll be in tutorial mode of the first few hours but the game really opens up after that

How do you like the game?
damn you died in tutorial lol
My game on Xbox one crashes all the time lol..
First youtuber I've ever seen get the game over in the tutorial 🤣🤣
Dancing, bad choice.
Speech is king in this game.
the game has problems with AMD cpu wonder had it now low and it was about 25fps
This game has a problem with lots of things I think. People with 12 or 16 GB RAM is also suffering for whatever reason.
This game has amazing graphics
This game is awesome - combat and lockpicking aside.
The lockpicking is fine wym?

The reason why you're here.
oh man Keith, you sure are smart, but it will be a death of you. you overthink this game already
22:00
I thought the descions was just a gimmick but I watched another playthrough that did it totally different and we actually saw the town getting attacked and the army charging. Sucks you got caught and missed it it was a very cool cutscene.
I didn't really "miss" anything. I died and have to start over now. This isn't a viable alternate story branch.
Keith, I believe there is a mod for the game that allows you to circumvent the savior Schnapps mechanic. heres a link to an article about it www.pcgamer.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-unlimited-saves-mod, to save you a lot of pain. Also out the the turorial you can also save by sleeping or visiting a bathe house.
I'm using the one which needs at least one Schnapps in your inventory and it works fine. Was too much of a hassle to find a bed or too expensive to get more Schnapps when you have to go quickly.

ran well on my 590
Only 99 fps, ONLY 99 fps be happy with whatcha got
I had to choose between this, and Cold Steel 2 - I chose Cold Steel 2 - I regret nothing. :P (though I still plan on buying this later on maybe).

No skyrim is not

Absolutely terrible.
