During my uni time back in late 90s, this mall was nearly deserted we thought it was going to go out of business. Thanks to these antique and vintage traders, I think the mall was given a new lease of life.
Ah thanks for sharing that bit of history. These vendors certainly have made this place alive with this niche. I think since then many malls have tried to copy but failed
This place has fallen down a peg in standards and shops that used to be here over 2 decades but I am glad it's still alive. I used to give Java "tutition" at the Mc Donalds there which I think has now closed down. Also gave tuition at the A&W nearby which has definitely closed down. Also loved the cheap RM 5 Wednesday Cinema at the top floor (again now has already closed down). Glad the other shops that has taken over like the flea market still keeps the place in business.
woah...so rich with history the place. thanks for sharing. You're right, the mall have evolved to be a flea market now and that's what keeps people coming here.
A&W is still operational, but the status is still hanging in the air...Since the signboard of the parking lot development is still there... And yes, the flea market circa 2008-2013 is the peak of Amcorp Mall flea market experience...Furthermore given that nowadays the flea market started later (*around 11:00am-11:30am) compared to the old 9am-6pm do impact the overall experience a bit... Another downer are the fact that there's no longer McD or Kenny Roger's Roasters and there's less eateries at level 3 compared to before i.e less port lepak for me and my toy collecting folks (McD used to be the COD locations for toy collectors)
i used to live in KL. Amcorp used to be a place to find old goods and as an avid stamp collector..this place is heaven. Should try nasi ayam and mee curry kapitan. For me best in town.
Ah yes it's actually heaven for stamps and coins collectors here. Nasi ayam and mee curry? Is it the restaurant beside the mamak Selera Berkat on LG 1?
It doesnt feel 44 minutes long at all. Thank you for sharing. I plan to go there when i visit KL, this video really helps me prioritize my visit to the shops there 😁
You sir, got an awesome childhood. I came to KL to work in 2009 and only introduced to this place around 2011 i think. At that time i came here to pick up comics like Spiderman and Batman from the sellers here. It is still a meeting place now. After long time, my itchy hands went and explore then "kena" poison by toys 🙈
I used to come here during my college days to buy loose parts for my 1/6 scale action figure builds. Was truly and interest niche place to browse for wares. Surprisingly from your video the place has changed a lot from last time I went there. Back then the place looked more run down with many empty shop lots. But now it seems like the place has had a glow up.
Glow up was thanks to the flea market and niche shops here. A lot malls tried to emulate but didn’t come through. The accessibility to LRT also helps. Thanks for watching!
with NSK newly set in this year this place is getting a new revival of new faces tourist from your neighborhood grocer aunts and mums. Kinda cool to see a vid made about this Collector's haven.
Yes, NSK really helps draws the crowd from outside and a relief to the residents and those working there. Thanks for watching! Do drop by and visit them if you're around the corner.
Deserve more like & share so that we can reach more to the collector to go there.. flea market is amazing by the way.. sometimes you get history lesson with the seller.

I love amcorp mall. Its a good spot to find new and old toys. The toys and figures collection scene is quite lively with active communities around the Klang Valley.
My last time here was 20 years ago when I bought an old hardcover book on Anthropology. I’m not sure whether it’s considered as an antique, but it looks nice on the bookshelf. I wish you could go further into the bookshop just to show a glimpse of some books they are selling currently. Thank goodness the bookstore is still there. Anyway thanks to you for showing us the place which brings back all those memories when I was still a young student. ❤❤❤😊
Anthropology, now that's an interesting niche subject. I recall seeing 2 bookstores there, 1 on ground floor and BookXcess on level 3. For vintage and rare titles, you might get lucky going hunting in the flea market as some of them do carry books for sale. Thanks for watching! Come back soon!
This is one of my favourite malls to go to when I visit KL. Made a mistake of going on a weekday. Place was dead 💀. Didn’t know then the flea market was a weekend thing. There used to be a Tapak street food area at the carpark but it closed down. Went there about a month ago and even the food options were great. There was an Abang selling freshly pressed coffee at the entrance and another selling bomboloni. Love this place❤
I remember when my 2 boys were in in primary schools. Every weekend i bring them to amcorp all the from seremban. Cause we spent lots of money on 2nd good especially book for half of the new books cassette and etc.. now they are at 24 year . And i hope they repeat it when they have their own family later on. Those day outside parking cheap .
