Hi Friend, thank you for this video. Indeed, a lovely 1960 Fender Precision Bass (I am born in 1960 too !) that needed some slight adjustment. This old granny was lucky to finding a fine and master luthier : nice job Man !
Wow! The care and craftsmanship that went into bringing this beautiful Fender back to a proper setup is, as always, top notch. At 19:53 the detail of setting wood screw threads is so important. Precision matters (no pun intended).
@@zdude335 Great question. A counterclockwise turn allows one to see and feel the start of the screw’s thread aligning with the thread already cut into the wood from the initial installation of the screw. If we were to just start installing the screw with downward pressure and clockwise rotation, there’s a strong chance of damaging or stripping the threaded hole in the wood. In this video you should be able to hear how the screw drops just slightly into the hole as Nik rotates it counterclockwise and aligns the threads before tightening. Cheers! 🎸
Well, that bass guitar has seen a LOT of night clubs and still going strong! I love that invisible shim idea Nik, and I'll wager the owner would never know if you didn't tell him. Great work Nik, and thank you for sharing.

FINALLY someone who economises time reusing tape fret to fret during a buff out, vs a prettied up full board tape.... I get it if you're doing a re level, but most times it's empty wow factor.... beautiful bass, nice work
@petrekguitars , quick question: @12:15, why didn't you use the E and G strings to keep the nut in place and proper positioned? not questioning your methods. just want to learn 🙂
