You are braver than I am. Even looking at google images of this thing sent shivers down my spine. I don't know if I'd ever have the courage to see it in person.
Angel of the North just scares me in general, I remember travelling down to Darlington and having to go past it my cousins thought it was funny to torment me.
Can't believe other people suffer this phobia!! Had this all my life tall buildings churches cathedrals etc especially at night. We went to America and the size of the buildings made me shiver. Feel better knowing I am not on my own cos I never met anyone with this phobia.
I remember as a child looking up at the forth road bridge and being hysterical as I looked up and saw how high it was and how the clouds moving above it made me feel like I was falling backwards. I still have it to this day but I can just about get away with it!
Braddazz' Travels no your not alone, no need to feel embarrassed it's braver facing these things, I have this too, I also have Altocelarophobia..which is comically rare...how are you in places with high ceilings?
I was looking at a tall cathedrale and I heard some loud noise because some workers were fixing something and it made me think that it would fall down. That is when it all started.
When I was visiting Newcastle in 2012 I only saw this from the highway as we were driving down to London for the next leg of our trip. It's on my to do list for a return visit. Good for you going up to the statue. Quite a nice view from the base. I'd be fine standing under it looking up, but if I was standing on the head I'd be scared stiff with my acrophobia. Hate heights. So since you can't climb the thing I'll be right as rain if/when I see it LOL
I have this phobia, it’s worse at night or in the evenings. No way would I even go near anything big like that in the dark. Just freaks me out. Bright sunshine or not at all.
huuuuuh even in the video the look-ups under the wing were scarying! I probably wouldn't be able to get under it either accompanied by other people.. Anyway thanks for reccording this. I search for megalophobic videos here on youtube as I started to make a channel about this. I am pretty megalophobic not only to statues unfortunately, but to anything wha't big, especially when I am alone there. Don't you want to record other challenging trips like this? I am going to make more too.
@James Cook have you been hurt by someone like your parents? Is that why you're a troll? What a worthless soul you are. The rest of us get on with dealing with our fears and then there's you. Worthless, ignorant frightened little person.

Nick Green - Not too bad, but some places can be quite daunting such as the inside of a lighthouse or a cathedral.
Dude same! When I was little I looked up at a tall tower and got the feeling that I was gonna fall backwards.
