    The Maono sounds the best of them all. However that Q2U sounds incredibly good.
    The rode pod mic does not sound good (preprocessing)

      i honestly think the worst sounding is q2u and the best is maono, but the fifine is definitely my second best

      @@GoMode2.0 I guess "good sound" can be subjective. And it depends on whether your wearing a headset.
      I bought 2 Maonos after watching this video. (That was 7 months ago lol)

      @@ROVideos yeah youre honestly right, i had to use a different headset for a few days since my main one broke, and it was SO weird, all headphones are different, but yeah ive had so many maonos, fifines, the re20, sm7b, so many microphones. (also im surprised you responded so quickly considering your comment was that long ago)

    I think the q2u and this are probably the best budget microphones out there and I think the q2u sounds phenomenal on it's kind of funny but there's been videos where I put it up against way more expensive microphones and people said hey we like that one better we like the cheap one better so I don't know, I guess if you match it up to the right voice
    But these things are both amazing for the money

    I'm trying to find a review of this mic that includes background keyboard noise. can anyone advise if this mic picks up keyboard strikes?

    I take objection to the Niagara Falls advertisement that ran after the video. I love Niagara Falls and it doesn't take much prompting to get me into the car and down the highway for a trip there. But they are trying to make it sound fast and action packed. Which is fine if you're talking about during the summer. Young people ziplining and racing around the tourist attractions. But for me Niagara Falls in the autumn and winter is a much more relaxed experience. I just like to take a casual walk, enjoy the parks and enjoy the view. It's a more mellow experience. And if the casino is the draw then you don't need Niagara Falls and its natural beauty for that. There are all sorts of casinos in Ontario. You're looking inward the entire time. It could be in a basement. And they never discuss the parking hassles. So many parking hassles.

    Q2U still kicks ass and sounds great. Sounds best of these to my ears.

    I’m looking for something small to record my band and was thinking of the Shure MV5 because it’s small and plug and play. What’s the best budget small compact usb mic for iPhone/MacBook Air M2… any suggestions?

    I am currently recording my podcast on the podtrak p4 using the zoom ZDM-1 microphone. I’m looking to start upgrading, should I start with the mics or the recorder? What are your thoughts on the ZDM-1?

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am devoting a full video to this.
      Long story short...Unless you are making money at the podcast, and the injection of more money for the podcast will benefit you financially...do NOT upgrade.
      You are better served upgrading your podcast in other ways...like adding video...or even some promotional campaigns.
      If you ARE making money...and you think you can have a return on investment...upgrade your interface first.
      As for the ZDM1...it is fine...nothing stellar...but you could change to a $1000 mic and no one would notice I bet.

    The Rode sounded terrible. The K688 sounded the best. Don’t need a mic with its own software for crappy limiter, etc.

    The mic sounds better to me than the q2u however maybe I'm getting older but I really can't stand the look of the mic and it's gain knob something that wouldn't bother me 4 years ago when I was 20

    Considering all these new microphones and technologies these days, maybe it'll be an interesting video to look into all time favorite mics like the SM58 and see if they're still relevant these days at their price point. Just an idea.

    • @theoutsiderjess1869
      @theoutsiderjess1869 ปีที่แล้ว

      The answer is yes the sm58 and sm57 are worth their price and should stay at that price you could do almost everything with both mics and not need to replace it. I want to pick up one of these mic before I get a sm7b

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      Considering the cover song I did of Hurt with JUST the SM58...I'd say it's still relevant

    I don’t understand the point of a $50 xlr mic. If you invested $100+ in an interface and $100 in a boom arm…
    USB for $50? Sure. All the way up to like $200. Then go XLR.

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The combo allows you to get going and expand later on.
      Quite good for those that have little money but want to start

      The cheap usb/xlr mics helps beginners learn usb and eqing if they have a computer but it also helps easing the learning curve for xlr
