I'm not a big fan of muted colors. Just when i thought your review videos couldnt get better they did .I love that your showing us them croched, knitted and washed. That makes it alot easier to decide if I want to try it. Hope you continue doing your reviews this way.
Hi Crystal. This is one of the best, most useful yarn reviews I have ever seen. With both knit and crochet swatches, and then the wash & dry thrown in as well, we have a really good idea about how these yarns will perform. My favorite is the Cabana, and I am not drawn to brown shades at all. The price is way too high, but I may cave if they go on sale! Thanks for all you do.
ooh i love this yarn! I impulsively bought a bunch of Tidepool in order to make a trench coat for the ren fair and I've been pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is to work with! I agree that it is a little more expensive than I would normally pay for it, but once it goes on sale (since it's a limited time yarn I'm sure it will) I intend to buy a bunch of the cabana, blossoms, and pink grapefruit colors.

I bought the Caron Blossom Cake in Tidepool. I find it very soft. Works up nice. I have not laundered it yet, but so far I like it. The color is beautiful. Blues and greens. Of course I didn’t pay full price either. I had 2 $5 coupons and a 20% off. So that helped.

So, I was recently inspired to make a lacey spring cardigan using Tropical Blooms Blossom Cake and I am so impressed with how pretty it is. Puff stitches look like a bouquet of blossoms and the irregular colour changes that flow beautifully create whimsical drifts of colour across the pattern. Stuff works up like a dream and the amazing stitch definition along with slightly fuzzy effect just make the result even dreamier. So pleased I got started before i stumbled across your less than enthusiastic review or I might never have decided to use this beautiful yarn. Love your channel Crystal. Great review! I bought 3 cakes on sale (buy 2, get 1 free) so the price ended up being $8.66 which is good to me! The box is expected today and I don’t remember what colors I chose so it will be a mystery! I also bought 3 cinnamon cakes with the same deal and they’re in the box too. Don’t recall those colors either. 😂
All the colors are very pretty. I knit chemo caps and could make 4.5 caps out of on cake. $12.99 is a little high, but with a sale and/or coupon and some Michael’s rewards the price drops. I like to make my chemo cap’s with some color to make the patients feel good. I’m a cancer survivor, so I know what it’s to take chemo. This yarn would work nicely. Thanks for the review Crystal 😊

I think Radiant Rainbow is my favorite. Followed close by Tide Pool. I'm not usually into super colorful yarn but I really like the muted look these cakes have. The rainbow really screams spring time to me so I bought a few. (:

Omg an unraveling test?! Thank goodness! I'm using one of the suuuper soft caron cakes for a shawl right now and omg if there's a part I've messed up on and have to take apart it's a P A I N. It gets all stuck together, the fibers twist around, and I end up snapping the yarn. It feels so nice, but never again lol! I'm never using it again.
Hi Crystal. I think you are right about the prices. These companies are making it so difficult for people to afford to craft. I also think they actually did a pretty decent job with the color changes on most. I do like the muted color changes. I am like you and am driven crazy with any abrupt changes and usually will stay away from anything with short color runs unless it is for a specific project. I bought myself a gift and purchased six of the Blossom cakes in the colour Cabana, I live in Canada and it cost me a small fortune. I normally don’t pay full price but I loved the colour so much I made a bold move 🤣I was thinking of making a cardigan but now I think I might want to make a throw! I can’t decide!!

Cotton will often shrink in the dryer. I still love it though.

There are some beauties in that batch of yarn. Very hard to pick a favorite without having specific project in mind.
