My Dad was born in 1914,I am 79 years old.109 years gone and what a change is there to see.1914 no cars no fancy dress above all no one on phone.❤❤

Very nice, dear Sir/Bapu ji (as they used to say back then with love and respect). My dad was born in 1934 but I am 46. My mother was about 9 when you were born and she told me a lot about those times. Her dad had moved to Ghaziabad and right from the roof top, they all watched the lights of Rashtrapati Bhawan in 1947. Horse riding, tongas, British rule, meetings with various kinds of people, sleeping on the rooftop at night under the canopy of stars and much more. I never lived there or in Delhi. I was born in Chandigarh and lived there apart from 3 years in Punjab. I am very happy to meet you here. Which city do you live in now? Warm regards and much love, kind Sir. ❤ 🪔

@@ranjittyagi9354 I never said that most were Indic muslim, muslim men used to wear kurta pyjama while muslim women used to wear saree on daily basis. Shalwar kameez was brought by Punjabi Hindus/sikhs.
@@gilbertvillanueva2096 there were few pashtuns but majority of Delhi population belonged to Mullej jat, Mulle Tyagi , Ranghar etc. Delhi share same culture belt like Haryana, West UP.

@@ranjittyagi9354 Common folks still live peacefully, probably more peacefully than when your Grandma or mother were young, when the Hindu/Sikh and muslim tensions were at it's peak and everyone was talking about 2 nation theory. People love the feeling of nostalgia, they do not realize that things have gotten better over the years, Indians are more healthy, educated and rich than they were 100 years ago.

Nobody was fat like today's average Delhi guys
Junk food wasn't present, they ate good, pure food and worked hard. Used to get up and sleep early. No pollution, no plastic, no stress. These days, kids eat junk pizza and their parents support them fully in their endeavor.
I do not know why people are looking back and thinking it was great life? People were thin because they were poor. India was not independent. That was not a great life. People used to die in famines. Leporsy, TB, Small pox, etc. were wreaking havoc.

It's surprising how many people do not know how our ancestors used to dress pre independence. Yes, the Hindu men wore topi/pagadi and dhoti, kurta & pyjama with vest coats. Most men even young boys used to wear dhoti, kurta and topi.They weren't Afghanistanis. At least search for some old pictures of pre-independence era.

@@gandabacha8200 Indian Muslims and Pakistani people don’t wear dhoti,kurta and topi. My grandpa used to wear dhoti kurta when he was young. Affluent people used to wear kurta pyjama and vest coat like Pandit Nehru. You can see Modi ji wearing kurta pyjama and vest coat. Even in Hindu weddings the groom wears kurta pyjama and vest coat. It is not Muslim culture alone who wears kurta pyjama.
Almost every person in street covers head with different headgears either turbans or scull caps .

Maine 1995 ke baad ka life dekha hai lekin kuchh kuchh mahsus hota hai phir bhi wo balgadi, wo bina electricity ke village and sudhh hawa pani.
