The engine sound is spectacular.
You think? I think its one of the very few flaws of this car. Its artificially generated not even the real engine sound of this car.
I don't usually complain but the way you trail the camera off towards the ground or sky is terrible. It's 1-2 seconds of viewing not of the car, of the ground; I don't want to see it. You REALLY should use that time to cross fade to a new shot. I don't feel that it works in anyway. Like if you agree. Otherwise I'm wrong.

if your buying a car , you want to try the 2015 fiesta St. that car has a brilliant engine but I think the polo is nicer looking. polo isn't as good handle either and sometimes feels abit soft but defo is a more comfortable car . both nice cars

VW Polo Gti DSG now seems a better choice than the GOLF, a car that has become too big in size for modern day living. I loved my MK5 2.0 tdi dsg but the new mk7 seems and looks too large , my next car will be a Polo, petrol with supercharger and turbo rather than a diesel.
Get the Polo GTI in manual, if you cant drive manual learn it. Its worth it. Owning a manual Polo GTI myself and having driven the new Golf GTI i can tell you the Polo ist just more GTI than the Golf. It feels more swift and agressive in my opinion. And its a lot cheaper at that.
The Golf has remained the same size since the Mk5. The Mk7 GTI has an extra 40BHP than the Mk5, if you are thinking of upgrading to a newer VW and have the money for a Mk7 GTI, do it.
The MK7 is not the same size as the MK5 lol..it is bigger...

Its the standard exhaust with the "Sport Mode" i belive. Basically by the push of a button besides some other things the engine sound gets artifically amplified.

Jean V yes, modern DSGs are reliable. The old ones could last about 200,000km but the new ones are much better.

I belive the DSG wouldnt let you do it but the manual version could do it i would assume.

Test drove one and ordered one. Depends what car you're used to 'launching' I've had a 1.0 corsa for years, my gfs got a nice Audi q3 and an a1 before it, nippy cars and they are superb but I floored this polo gti in 2nd and it absolutely rockets.
I can launch an i20 diesel manual in 2nd gear...You need to learn how to.

Dont know about the 1/4 mile but the Golf GTI is 0.2 seconds faster on the 0-100km/h and its got a 10km/h faster topspeed at 246km/h than the Polo GTI.

To put a DSG variant in sport mode you simply pull down on the gear selector and it will engage it into sport mode. Obviously not possible on a manual hence why the manual version gets a button next tocthe hazzard lights and the DSG is built in to the gear selector :)

He took the factory numbers i belive, most of the new Polos out of the factory have over 200hp and do the 0-100 in about 6.2 seconds. I watched a lot of tuning videos where they tested the performance before and after, thats where i got the numbers from. Also depends on the fuel used, where i live you can get fuel with 101 octane. That makes quiet a difference compared to the standart 95 octane fuel.
Didnt hear you explaining me the difference between torque and horsepower. Maybe your just to stupid to really know the difference. And dont just copy/paste something from Wikipedia, i wanna see you notice that you actually have no clue of what you are talking about.

Matt R C, is just accidentaly stumbled over this old "discussion". Meanwhile im a proud owner of a manual Polo GTI and as i picked it up at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg i got to talk to some employees there. The reason why the DSG version does the same 0-100 is simply in the more agressive gearing and the speed at which the gears change. The DSG only takes 0.1 seconds to change a gear and therefore doesnt loose any boost pressure from the turbo, the manual one no matter how fast you change gears dumps almost all of the boost when changing gears. The felt acceleration in gear of the manual gti is stronger however the actual 0-100 time stays the same and indeed is faster than what volkswagen claims in the stats sheet.

Car Nut i dont think so. Almost 10% of Skoda cars in India have the mechatronics unit replaced which even resulted in fire in some cases. People prefer manual over it but in the last year the failure rate is like less than 1% which is a good sign. These gearbox are good and the dct is very fast but not bullet proof reliable i would say. Even i am in the market for a new car and will go either for the 7 speed DSG Polo TSi or the 1.8 Octavia TSi which sharws the same engine with the Polo GTi.

I cant understand why anyone would ever buy a car with automatic gear. I learned driving with manual, i drove manual ever since and i ordered my Polo GTI in manual aswell. I like beeing more involved in the actual driving of my cars, having to watch my rpms, deciding what gear to choose and stuff. And automatic gearboxes tend to fail more often than manuals and they are expensive to fix. A manual box needs maybe 1 or 2 new clutch discs over the lifespan of the car and its a cheap part thats fast to change.

this car is bullshit, I had an experience to drive it, the dsg broke down in 52 000km, I drive it carefully with all recommended tips for dsg drive, when the dsg heats up on summer it sounds like a scrunched metal. the car it sellf is good but the dsg is shit. I got the cat brand new from vw salon and service also from the vw garage. don't waste your money!!! this is my last try for european car, I wold prefer toyota
