Thanks for the video! The acceleration is pretty good for a budget car with 140hp like this one. I, personally, love it.

Clearly, it's a good, honest performer. It's a small surprise that the automatic is quicker than the manual. If I had to have one of those cars, the manual would be my choice.
i guess the automatic is quicker because you dont have turbo lag after each upshift.
Digi20 hard to say...... it's not a dual clutch transmission just a regular 6 speed box.... it does show the 40-110 is slightly faster on manual so you might be right.
How often do you do a 0-100 though right....I'll take the manual because it's more fun and the in gear acceleration will be the same.
stick shift is just the most fun. I drive a jimny and it's bloody great

And turbo lag hasnt been a thing since about 1995.
Pure old school autos blur their shifts for smoothness, which kills acceleratio, dsg doesnt which is why its always quicker.
The only reason this normal type auto beat the manual is the drivers shit launch. It was obvious even earlier coz he bombed it in one of the earlier scenes too. Not enough revs and way too gentle on the clutch.
Not surprised- he couldnt launch the kia cerato manual either.
@@sugarnads Turbo lag is still a thing , Go from 2nd to 3rd in the old ZC32S and then try it in this , its not long but theres definately a half second of turbo spool up.
Which is obvious really since when you change gear you lose boost pressure , it cant instantly regain that.
Swift Sport track edition (only onsale in New zealand) is equipped with HKS CAI and catback exhaust, it gives the SSS 18kw more!

I’m actually really surprised that the auto is pretty quick for a standard 6 speed box
And especially in Drive mode, not tested yet in sport mode ;)

@@thomas56701 the new Suzuki automatic has no dedicated sport mode. Simply D and M. Even on the normal one, it is quite good and fun gearbox. It also suits the Boosterjet engine in the normal Swift.

Driven both, don't feel much different in a straight line quite identical in speed. Nothing to call home about. And not to mention I got my 86 gts for 10k (for mods) less than what the dealer wanted for zc33s. And I run the swift club here in australia, and have owned swifts for 8 years (modified zc32s and zc21s).
Toyota 86 times.
0-100km/h: 7.25sec (13th) - Manual.
0-400m: 15.19sec @ 152.79km/h (13th)
And good review for the swift too - posted a 7.86 0-100kmh, which i imagine was for the manual. Really depending on surface, I totally believe the 7.39, there are guys who have got well sub-7 second brz 0-100km times by launching the shit out of it and flat shifting. LOL.

@@CollateralFatality cerato gt is like a second faster than 86 and if people can call 86 a sports car, cerato gt should be called one too. It is cheaper than 86 and probabaly far more reliable.
living in a crowded city with bumper to bumper traffic , auto is the way to go for me .
The ZC31S is still my favourite. NA engine simply gives a better driving experience imho.
I have my quantifiable doubts about that statement of yours. I own an SR20DE B13 and recently bought a ZC33S and there's no doubt force induction is the way to go. History proves it just check F1 and how all Teams had to switch to forced induction to remain competitive and that's just one example.
Where can we find the automatic version in Europe please? Only manual seem to be available.

The only thing I dont like with these cars is the ride height. They made them so high off the ground it almost looks like a compact SUV from some angles. Fist upgrade coil overs
Je confirme pour en avoir une depuis 2019 en Jaune champion c'est un régal 7s2 environ de 0 a 100 soit plus ou moins les même perf que mon ancienne clio rs 182 ......le turbo et le poids joue beaucoup sans compter qu'apparemment elle sort généralement plus de 150ch sur banc
bref un petit kart qui en plus est full option pour 970kilos

Great performance testing you guys do. In your opinion, which car would be quicker on a tight racetrack? Swift Sport DCT or i30 N-Line DCT?
LOL ... 2022 i30N DCT is 5.3 to 100 :) stronger then sype R & cupra leon
@@edenazulay4829 he is asking about track times... 0-100 means very little there... that said, the i30 would probably beat the swift on the track too... but on a tight track I don't think the swift would be far behind... also, swift sport does not have a DCT afaik.

Close match with swift sport (doesn't have dct {is torque converter auto})
However depending where you are from they have differing mod markets. Swifts make great race cars

@@mrg-ghx8052 Can't you? I can redline my jimny which knocks off at 6 grand, same engine as the standard swift I'm pretty sure. Looking at getting a swift as well though, they're sick little cars!
@@WTRGK I've only driven this new swift sport. When you're pressing along hard, it can hit the limiter when you expect a bit more rev range. However the reason you look for that extra range is because the steering and suspension are 100% on point giving you great feedback and confidence. It's a fun car.

Since Suzuki pulled out of Canada, I wouldn't know what they would have priced this in the market but I would assume it would be less than or close to something like a Fiesta ST? The interior looks rather low rent.
When it was launched in the UK it was selling for £15999 and the cheapest fiesta ST £19500

200hp 1284kg for stock fiesta ST.
174hp and 975kg for remapped Swift Sport , it is a close race and it's not "smashing" it.

Keithen Taylor Suzuki claims it is 210 km/h, what may be true, I got over 220 km/h according to speedometer.
Just keep it at 8 seconds for every person possible, that tries normally to 0-100
The pdrive put their best effort to get it fast as possible by alot of trail error. ( experience )
And best possible tires for the car.
It's on stock continentals....

In the manual the best time I have got is 6.29 I took off from 2nd gear it's faster that way...

I owned a 1990 twin cam 16 valve gti, lowered suspension, full race exhaust and chipped ecu and it was fast, I clocked 212kmh and it didn't take long to get there either...I miss that car.
