  • In this video we decide to have a little fun. We decide it would be a great idea to show up at Busco Beach the closest ATV park and build a Phatmoto from scratch and take it for some off road fun........ Things did not turn out as well as we thought. In fact things almost didn't happen at all. The list was pretty long. Late, missing tools, broken chain you can imagine. From the creators of Hold my beer! It worked last time! Nobody's watching! and of course we can't forget Hey y'all watch this! We come to this (working title) How are we getting back! Lets see if we can have some fun on some motorized bikes!

    Pretty cool bikes, I was recently in the Philippines and stopped into a motorcycle shop and they had made a motorized bicycle it was really cool and showy with lots of anodizing and foil type paint. It had a 70cc motor like a Suzuki raider 150cc where the jug sits straight forward and the forks were either gas or oil and 2 spring shocks on the back, brembo disc brakes front and rear, the engine was 3/4 in. straight piped with a small gas tank below the seat. It was like a show bike lots of gold and blue anodizing Bike was green with green rims and gold spokes, gold and blue handle bars gold control levers, shocks had white springs, the motor was a red foil and blue jug. Wish I could send you a photo or video I'm sure you guys would get a kick out of it.

    Ike, you've been holding out on me. I've been after you guys on cars and cameras to do a 212 mtb forever. Well it aint a 212 Predator, but it's close. They are more fun on pavement than dirt. Get rid of the chain adjuster, and make a spring loaded one attached to the torque convertor backing plate. You won't regret it. The 212 Predator is a wheelie monster that requires the carful arrangement of seat placement, and putting as much weight over the front wheel as possible, to keep the front wheel on the ground. If you have adjustable front suspension, set the rebound setting to slow, otherwise the fast rebound will bounce your front wheel off the ground at every start. And it's no fun when you're sitting at a light with lines of cars on both sides of you, and you don't know what direction your bike is going to take, after the front wheel comes back down. I rode my bike for a week, like this, before I moved some weight around, and got the wheelies under control. My bike will do 60, 70 mph without blinking, so as you can imagine, this would very much upset the police, so, I turned the throttle stop screw to keep me at 45 mph and not attract too much attention, although the Windsor police don't like motorized bikes of any sort. I did, however call them when I first arrived here and asked them if I needed to do anything to be legal, and I was told I am legal, so I ride with no fear of reprisals. So far, so good, 2 years, and counting.

    In 1974 I fitted out a Cinelli racing frame for touring and crossed the Moroccan Sahara with it. I'm interested in this bike, as at 70 years old, I feel a need for some help on the hills. I would opt for the Rover, knowing that, though not comfortable, a skinny wheeled bike can go overland...if one doesn't have a choice! - how often does one go overland anyway?

    Guys, how cool was this video! Amazing these Phatmoto bikes! I loved this proposal to be able to accelerate or pedal at the same time. Mainly on sand and fine dirt terrain, where steering a normal bike is very difficult. Congratulations on the hint of good humor.
    If anyone here enjoys or needs to cycle at home or train indoors for whatever reason, be it time, physical reconditioning or option, I know how boring it is without something exhilarating.
    Thinking about it, I created the BIKE IN BRAZIL channel here on You Tube, containing more than one hundred videos of training on Brazilian streets and bike paths, with few cuts, so that the experience is as faithful as possible and you feel really comfortable burning those undesirable calories...
    Here I did my part, liked it, left a comment, shared it with my friends and subscribed to your channel.
    If possible, stop by bikeinbrazil and see if you like it.
    A big hug and once again, congratulations and success!

More torque, quieter (much quieter), 4+ hrs of ride time. However if these are meant to be more of a nostalgic upgrade catering to a niche crowd of people I find them very cool. Ride on.

      @funkymalloy3695 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@datvik7187 Technically it is but when referring to a bicycle frame material it is understood alloy means aluminum. Although there are other materials steel and alloy (as in aluminum alloy) are the 2 common ones in use. And the Phatmotos are made of aluminum alloys so I thought it would be obvious what I meant but thanks for correcting me. It will never happen again, just like I never call an engine a motor or vice versa after being corrected in the past about the semantics of that nomenclature.
