they have the same script (albeit russian having three exclusive characters), though, how would you recommend a non-speaker to differentiate the two if they can't read either language? this isn't just a westerner thing, it would apply to anyone who can't speak russian or bulgarian. i assume you can't speak urdu or arabic (urdu has same alphabet as arabic save for some new characters), would you be able to tell which is which in written form? edit: checked again, it's on r/bulgaria. that's more of a laziness thing than western ignorance
