it's a bit refreshing to have a more limited use of the minor IV in a major key, but I'm also glad that it's in there
although a tip I can provide is to have some usage of a major III chord in a major key. Seriously, the chord progression of I - III - IV - iv/some V is really neat

@@minefan7 I - III - IV - iv is literally known as the Creep chord progression 😭 (as it was infamously used in, you guessed it, Creep, by Radiohead)

Can I ask, as a younger person, I do think I remember a song like this, but I can't for the life of me remember the name, could someone please come through?

Lmfao absolutely not. Have you ever listened to chopin? It's not even close to the same style, nor does this compete in complexity, it doesn't even get past auditions.

    Great piece
I wonder, how do you come up with melodies? I can never make anything musical and my pieces only work because of their extreme technical difficulties, nothing simple yet beautiful like this

@@MaskedPianist57 that's awful advice and a good way to completely cripple your capablity as a composer. Not only does being depressed not necessarily equal to you making good music, such as here. It also means that when you're not depressed, it means you're musically crippled. You should improve your technique instead through study and rigorous completion of musical exercises from books like Harmony:its theory and practice by ebenezer prout.

Listen to great masterpieces from great composers and study their music. For me Bach is the greatest composer that ever lived but no one has to agree with me on this, although I can say I have reasons to believe what I believe. Most people approach Bach in a dry and theoretical sense and forget that there is a lot of beauty in his works. If one feels like his keyboard works are too dry , one may try looking into some of his orchestral and chamber works, or even his vocal works.

@@MaskedPianist57I think someone has been kind enough to you to give you an honest response to your take on music. You have been brainwashed by those romantic composers who wanted to give up their lives and forget that joy exists. Please, my friend, as long as you are alive, there is always hope, and music should be a tool to give you hope. You shouldn't feed yourself with negative emotions and pass those emotions on your music. Listen, music is powerful: if your music gives a negative message, you can make people feel depressed just by letting them listening to it; but if your music gives out a message of hope, you can comfort people even when they are going through their darkest time. Did you know that you can even comfort yourself by focusing on the hope that you have? I remember me sitting in front of my computer one time in great frustration for whatever reason that I won't go deep into details, but because I hated to stay frustrated, I decided to write something to comfort myself, and let me tell you, I finished writing my piece with a happy spirit, and I couldn't find myself coming back to that frustration again: I've been greatly healed just because I wrote my work. Here's the fun part: when I give this work to any of the people that I know, they never believe me when I tell them that I wrote this in my anger; no, not even my closest ones believe me; and even I myself can't believe I could write something like that in my anger. Here it is my friend, I'm sure you won't hear any anger in here, because I myself can't even hear it. 😂 Enjoy!
