It's been their new thing for awhile...I have viewed at least 15 Live performances of Wolf Alice from 2015 onward, and they typically do this stage alignment now. Not sure if there is a significance behind the arrangement? But it still works for me!

I was going to attend a show they had at a smaller venue in Joliet, IL...but it sold out not only before I could purchase a ticket, but a well 7 month period before the concert date!!
Such a great set in front of a totally listless crowd. Still, a good test for a great band. They didn't let it phase them one bit, just did their thing and got out of there. Ellie looks so cool throughout. For someone seemingly so shy she really shines on the stage. This sort of thing is what happens when these festivals go corporate. You end up with a crowd with no sense of good music. I mean "Giant Peach" didn't even get many of them moving!
So freaking true!! All these dumb college kids take over those festivals and all they care about are shitty rap bangers and getting wasted. It makes great indie rock bands like wolf Alice really difficult to be noticed. So if you don't sound like a mainstream rapper, crowds like that at festivals are extremely hard to impress.

Get over this move about and dance obsession the audience just want to hear tge music ...as do I ...I dont want a load of teen and tween age Louts moshpitting in front of me...plus I'm 48 now...am I not allowed to listen to a band when I go see them ????

Wolf Alice remind me so much of the great late 80s "Thames Valley" Shoe gaze bands like Ride, Slowdive and Lush...( the over hyped "My Bloody Valentine" were too experimental and loud for my liking) .."Ride" were just a stunning band as were "Slowdive"
I got to see them 4 times at this sxsw but missed this performance. The crowd was much better at the other shows. I think it also had something to do with Fader Fort playing more rap/hip hop acts during festival...so these people might not have appreciated the music as much.
Damn, that is a shit audience. The band played a great gig even though. I saw hundreds of american bands over here in Europe, that nobody knew at the time and were not half as good. But they were always treated well by the audience.
They are all great Musicians especially Joff and the Drummer...the bass player can be a bit of a clown at times but I'll forgive him for it....Ellie and Joff are both very deep introspective personalities which reflects on their writing and composing....Joff isn't just a one trick "Indie/ shoegaze" pony on the guitar...he's pretty good at old 1920s/30s "Piedmont Blues" finger picking guitar aswell..like Rev Gary Davis stuff...
Allot of you fail to understand that this band were only starting out at this stage and had not developed a sizeable fan base in England the USA and elsewhere....so don't expect loads of NME reading teenagers to go apeshit mental at this point in time at their gigs...I mean so many of you don't bother to think about the "Reason why"...try think logically about things and not just post/rant the first enthusiastic thought in your head....

Ellie almost looks like she can't wait for this set to be over. And I've seen her at many, MANY events. NEVER have I seen her look so bored. No matter, Wolf Alice is rising to the top faster than a bullet. Two of the best shows I've seen was Paris & Glastonbury. Check out the difference in Ellie's energy at the Paris show here on TH-cam.

All the guys are too insecure with their manly-hood to show any emotion towards music that isn't a band that's all dudes screaming about their issues lmao

Johnny Marr. Simple. Understated.
Jonny Greenwood and Ed OBrien are great at making the guitar sound unlike a guitar. Same goes for Joey Santiago of Pixies.
