Spaghetti that is cooked at home is better than Jollibee spaghetti if they know how to cook. Jollibee spaghetti (6/10) is, in some cases, even worse in other franchises. And for spaghetti, cook it at home (9/10) if it is cold, and when it is hot (10/10) if they know how to cook.Almost all are better home cook actually. Do a cooking challenge some time.

According to Reddit in r/Philippines, the reason why there's no adobo rice in the Philippines is because adobo varies from the taste of every filipino. There are many different kinds of styles, there are different techniques, different recipes, and everybody are at each other's throats just to see who cooks the best adobo.

Thousand island dressing
So about pickles in the Philippines. We don't normally use cucumbers to pickle, instead we do use green papaya that's been shredded. The pickling method is called "atsara" and it is ubiquitous in Filipino cuisine.

Just a Quick Trivia!
Since you were surprised with the Burger Steak, there was actually a Discontinued "Secret Item" at Jollibee, it's called "The Ultimate Burger Steak" ( It's A Quarter Pounder Beef Patty with a generous amount of mushroom gravy, underneath is a chunk of Fries and topped it off with crispy garlic bits, sided with White Rice and topped it off with A sunny side-up egg. The topped up egg is an add-on to the order, BUT IT MAKES IT 10X MORE DELICIOUS).

Atsara/atchara is the Filipino equivalent of pickles. They're usually pickled papayas and best paired with grilled or fried food.

Probably same reason why rice or noodle based stuff is less popular as fast food aswell. It's more messy and can't be eaten without utensils. A lot of the popular American fast foods is eaten by hand like burgers, fries, nuggets, pizza.

the peach mango pie is so relatable, i always get messy when eating but it is really good 💕
The trick is you gotta squeeze the pie so some of the filling is almost falling out.

maaan. i grew up in socal and miss jollibee so much. now i'm hard-craving. also watching bella use the spoon and fork the way i was taught growing up is so reaffirming. i live in the US south now, and i get weird looks for using utensils like that (esp using a spoon to cut where a knife isn't necessary).
I think Rae needs to know 60th Birthdays are a big deal here in PH, that's also when they are officially recognized as a senior with benefits etc. lol so they throw huge bday parties...

9:35, actually fun fact, we do have pickles in the philippins, but not in the format that americans are used to, like the cucumber pickles, onion pickles, etc.
Instead, we have this type of pickled side dish called, "Atsara (pronounced as achara)" Where it's a mixture of shoestring sliced pickled radishes, carrots, and even garlic is on the mix, and it's usually paired up with anything greasy, or grilled, as it's vinegariness helps cut down the fattiness of its food pairing, like i guess fried chicken, barbeque, etc. That's all! Hope you learned smth !
