I guess I have a pretty cool mom, because when I was like 10 years old, she had just gotten her first MP3 player. She proceeded to load it with music from Napster and figured out how to hook it up to her car stereo. The first song she played was this song, and I was like “Mom! You like Mudvayne?” And she just said, “Yeah, they’re awesome!” One of the greatest moments of my childhood, right there. Even after... a lifetime of listening to alternative music... this is still one of the best songs ever made. 20 years ago this song was made. Can you believe it?
I have loved mudvayne for most of my life. Ryan martinie is why I decided to try playing bass. We need more female bass players that can play crazy shit like this.
And btw a beautiful thing I remembered on my hike today is that when you learn to love yourself, as I did while carrying rocks in RI and getting out in the woods every day, it’s true that your world changes. Colors are brighter and you suddenly love life. Always, no matter what.
This songs gives me that extra kick when things are not going my way and motivates me to keep on pushing ... such a sick band , the 2000s was the golden decade of metal bands indeed

Chad is definitely one of the better singers. The range and the power. He can sing with the visceral power of his screams but bring it down to something truly melodic and even tender. Definitely better than most and definitely not paid the respect due.

LYRICS:
Always known in all my lifetime
A little left of center and now
Reflect as I realize
That all I need is to find
The middle pillar path to sit like the sun by a star in the sky and just be
Sinners, casting stones at me
I, I stand
Not crawling, not falling down
I, I bleed
The demons that drag me down
I, I stand (for nothing)
Not crawling (the center), not falling down (of calms within the eye)
I, I'll bleed (for no one)
The demons (but myself) that pull me down (for me and no one else)
Goodbye, sunshine
I've put it out again (sad)
I'm over personalities conflicting
I don't need you or anyone but me
I'll just be living my own life
I feel my glowing, center grow
Infecting, I feel alive
Shovel dirt over lime
Plant it in myself to sit like a seed, under covers of earth and just be
Sinners, pointing fingers at me
I, I stand (for nothing)
Not crawling (by myself), not falling down
I, I'll bleed (for no one)
The demons (but myself) that drag me down
I, I stand (for nothing)
Not crawling (the center), not falling down (of calms within the eye)
I, I'll bleed (for no one)
The demons (but myself) that pull me down (for me and no one else)
Come play, kill (refuse my body, refuse my shadow)
Stone-cold will (refuse to lead this, refuse to follow)
Bitter pills (refuse to feed this, refuse to swallow, I'm fueled Godless)
Come play, come play
Just be
Just be
Just be
Just be
Just be
Just be
I, I stand (for nothing)
Not crawling (by myself), not falling down
I, I'll bleed (for no one)
The demons (but myself) that drag me down
I, I stand (for nothing)
Not crawling (the center), not falling down (of calms within the eye)
I, I'll bleed (for no one)

Hellyeah sucks!
I wouldn't say they suck, but they're not gonna be as good as Mudvayne... NEVER
Drake Parker I don’t think Hellyeah sucks, they are actually pretty cool, but they will never be as good as Mudvayne or Pantera, even Nothingface.
Whoever doesn't like mudvayne never experienced pain. Not physicially but mentally. I turned to this music to help me. It worked. I feel a little better :) Stay Strong People
Ghostship never bought me here.... Just a true metalhead
Same here

To this day I still haven't heard a song like this. That weird rhythm is so cool.
You don't realize how good that bassist is until you realize how good he is.
These guys are gonna come back bigger than last time. Can't wait.
touring now on east coast. ...
This Song Gives Me Power Young & Old Forever........ We Shall Not Falll.........
Edit: To all the people who have liked and commented on this comment, I’m sorry to say that my Mom passed away two days ago. If she only knew that somewhere on the Internet, 1.5k people thought she was really cool. Thank you, everyone.
C'mon Tyler... And I sincerely hope to hear about you and that guitar one day.
👍😎👍😎👍😎👍😎👍
Yes she had good taste man this band here can Rock fuk yea
That's cool! I'm 10 right now, and I discovered my English teacher (Second English teacher) Liked system of a down and pewdiepie!
How could a cool mom birth such loser
@@Brett-yq7pj says the person who's illiterate. Your mom must be ashamed of you.

YEEESSSSS
i really want to say it's the first time i heard the song. totally did not fit with the vibe of the movie, but my second fave Mudvayne song after "Happy?"
THAT WAS LIKE THE BEST PART OF GHOST SHIP !!!!! X)
THIS SONG IS A HEAD BANGER
Ghost Ship is such an incredible cult classic IMO, anyone that hasn’t seen it I strongly recommend you watch it!!!! It’s on Netflix as of 4-28-2019 y’all!!!
No shit, R U serious? It's on Netflix?
Yup! It’s on the USA Netflix, though I’m not too sure if its on other versions of Netflix.
this song is wild and brutal; i remember from Ghost Ship. sick.
My Favorite Song from Mudvayne since 2001. Wow that was 20yrs ago. Time goes so fast.
A song that's not just a banger, but also an inspirational song, for that in midst of its heavy, chaotic melody lies the message of never giving up, no matter the odds.
Even after... a lifetime of listening to alternative music... this is still one of the best songs ever made. 20 years ago this song was made. Can you believe it?
This song is art, and it should be cherished by newer generations too.
YOU ARE BACK! THANK YOU! Those times are pretty rough, but you just brought some positiv energy in.
Love this song & yes I think of "Ghost Ship" every time I hear it 😉
I have loved mudvayne for most of my life. Ryan martinie is why I decided to try playing bass. We need more female bass players that can play crazy shit like this.
Kittie❤❤❤💯
we need more bass players period
wait is ryan a girl

And btw a beautiful thing I remembered on my hike today is that when you learn to love yourself, as I did while carrying rocks in RI and getting out in the woods every day, it’s true that your world changes. Colors are brighter and you suddenly love life. Always, no matter what.
This songs gives me that extra kick when things are not going my way and motivates me to keep on pushing ... such a sick band , the 2000s was the golden decade of metal bands indeed
damn I love this song.
This is an Audio Onslaught of the most incredible degree...talk about an excellent WALL OF SOUND...love it!
The most awesome band in this cold world
I love this song. The chaotic breakdown shortly after the 2 minute mark is the best part.
2022 and this is still better than music today 🤟🏼
March 2022 Mudvayne still rock'n strong!!
As much as I like watching and listening to Ryan's playing, Matt's drum work really stands out on this track.
2021 and still headbanging
So many gains in the gym from this track.

Next tell him to hear trivium, kill switch engage and hatebreed
I first heard this song when I was watching the movie, "Ghost Ship" at the 11:20 mark on the movie. I love this song.
How many people have watched this more than once? Tell me how many times you listened to this video? I've listened to it about 30 times so far.
Cary Huff i thought mercy, severity was played in ghost ship
Cary Huff probably like 7 times tonight lol I didn't see that movie but randomly was reminded of this song the other day and it's my jam for this wk

Chad is definitely one of the better singers. The range and the power. He can sing with the visceral power of his screams but bring it down to something truly melodic and even tender. Definitely better than most and definitely not paid the respect due.
look up mudvayne 2021 you will be sad
