- I had a wonderful trip to California to visit friends last week. We went to garage sales and estate sales and topped it off with a visit to the Rose Bowl Flea Market. Plus, my incredibly generous friends gifted me with some lovely items. I hope that you enjoy my finds!

Hello there. I was just glad to find something affordable at a California flea market. Everything else was so expensive!
Welcome to California. Sticker shock, eh? I love that compact! I just today listed a similar one but mine was silver plated.
The sticker shock was extreme!! I saw sterling spoons for $10 at an estate sale today, and no one was buying. Those compacts are so fun. I was reading that they could sometime have the make up plus dance card/pencil in them. So ingenious!

Hi Michelle. My friends are simply amazing and so generous. I love the pitcher; they know that I collect RS Prussia, and my friend's husband was saying "I want you to take that pitcher home with you." I had no idea what pitcher that he was talking about until then end of my trip when he pulled it out of his display cabinet. I was stunned! So beautiful!! The compact was so amazing too. All those features and in sterling too. Go figure. I can just see a fashionable 1920s woman wearing it to a soiree.
Hiya D! You found some very nice things. I am still looking for the pot of gold and the end of the rainbow, LOL! Market last weekend were LOUSY. There is nothing good this weekend, either...oh well gives me something to look forward to!
Hi Bonnie. The prices in California were sky high. I pay anywhere from $1-$4 for a sterling silver spoon at home with prices up to @ $7-10 maximum, and every dealer there wanted $15...except for the 2 spoons that I found at the booth next to the exit gate. I am hoping that there are some sales tomorrow!

Whitting is known for their bar wear. Maybe what your calling toothpick holders are for drink picks or other things for bar wear.
