    This is a great video - and I do appreciate your showing some good 2-3/4" 12 gauge turkey loads. My brother really likes his Ithaca M37 and is limited to 2-3/4. There aren't many 2-3/4" turkey loads on the shelves, so a roll-your-own option is very useful!

    Could cheddite hull and primer and longshot be used what changes would need to be made

      For a Cheddite hull keep everything exactly the same but no need to trim the wad.

    I've found 1-1/2oz to 1-5/8oz payloads to be the sweet spot for TSS turkey in any gauge (28 gauge to 12 gauge)... I have a 10 gauge, 1-5/8oz TSS load moving 1375-1400 FPS.

      @theshotgunscientists  ปีที่แล้ว

      That 10 gauge load sounds nasty lol that would do that job so far beyond 60 yards.

      @@theshotgunscientists It’s good to hear it works better in a 10 gauge with a lighter load anyways as expensive as that stuff is! Saves me a 2 1/2 ounce to 3 ounce loaded anyways of the stuff.

    Excellent video, please continue with a few more loads in 12 ga. With TSS it is not as easy as you think to find that much data on it because of so much proprietary stuff people are funny about sharing it for some reason.

    Can you tell me if there is any difference between a 2 3/4 inch tss with a 1 3/8 ounce pay load and a 3 inch tss load with 1 5/8 ounce pay load other than pellet count?

    • @theshotgunscientists
      @theshotgunscientists  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t need a 3” shell for 1 5/8 ounces of tss, 2 3/4” will hold over 2 ounces if you want it too. It might be lower pressure in 3” though do to having more cushion.

      @@theshotgunscientists Thanks. I am shooting Apex #9 in 2 3/4 inch. The load is 1 3/8. I was just wondering if there was any difference other than the payload. I really like the way that 1 3/8 load shoots.

    So just a quick question. Did you test fire this load? If so do you have a video? I love your videos by the way. I mainly load duplex loads for waterfowl hunting,but toying with loading some straight up TSS loads for spring gobblers. But i feel that 30gn of blue dot or 28gn of long shot is way over charged. Maybe not im not quite sure and you might know better than me. But im pushing 1 3/8s duplex at 1350 ish with 21.8 grains of longshot unbuffered. No doubting you at all just wondering if you found this load to be pretty hot?

    • @theshotgunscientists
      @theshotgunscientists  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      23 grains of longshot gets us 1350ish speeds with a 1 ounce load in 16 gauge man, I’m not sure how you’re getting 1350 with 21 grains in a 12 gauge with 1 3/8 ounces.
