Hi there M.E., I'm back again. I love this tri cornered bowl in plywood, it is probably fair to say that this not the most frequently turned wood but it has 'responded to the challenge' extremely well. It seemed to turn well & it finished well & is a piece you can be justly proud of. Thanks again for sharing. Don from South Aust.
Yup...pretty snazzy! I like it. 👍. I turned one out of plywood too. The glue in the plywood a little tough on tools and required frequent sharpening. Turned out nice like yours. Definitely need to watch the fingers when turning, sanding and polishing. I always hold the paper towel flat on my fingers with no grip when polishing and sanding by hand as the piece rotates. The fingers just lightly press the paper towel or sand paper against piece. That minimizes the chance of the wood catching the paper and taking my fingers along with it. Keep those wood shavings flying!
You stay awesome, too! Your artistry is amazing. Your dad would be so proud. Heck, my dad would love to see what you are creating and he would be so proud as well. Rock on, ME!!
Fantastic Magen! You have done an awesome composition here. The shape is outstanding and the finish . There must have been a lot of dust and small chips everywhere, but the pain was worth it, I think. Keep on turning. Cheers, Bluey 👍
Looks great Magen! I tried one with a solid block of cherry just today. I got about 80% done and left it to finish later. It is not easy! You are right about the focus!
This is my second visit to this video. My first 6” three corner bowl was made from pine plywood. It turned out ok. My second attempt was with 3/4” oak . It was a disaster. Oak plywood does not turn very nicely and big chunks of wood break off the outer ply. I did not experience this with the pine. For my 3rd and 4th attempts, I did a tree winged bowl from walnut and cherry wood. Both turned out really nice. Now off to the big box store for some pine plywood.
I have made large vases from SpectraPly and Baltic Birch. It turns nice but LOTS of sanding to finish them. Three cornered bowls are the scariest thing I make. Any time you turn one and don't require emergency medical attention you have won for the day. Nice bowl.
I amazed at how nice a plywood Bowl actually looks when finished. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching, John!
Megan you have inspired and this is what I’m going to try for my first time
That is awesome! It was a fun one. I'm so glad you're going to try one.

Thank you very much. Thank you for the sanding tips! I need all the help I can get. :)
Can totally see where that really could raise hob with fingers!!! Really sharp end result!!
Thank you so much! It was pretty scary. Lol

Thank you Bluey! Yeah, nothing but sawdust on this one. Worth every second. :)

Love it!

감사합니다
Nice piece and from plywood yet!
Thank you very much!
Very nice
Thank you!
0:07 love that movie!
It really was good!
Nicely done. All that glue must have been hard on the cutting edge of the tools, but the plywood turned out quite beautiful.
Hi Sigurdur,
Yes, I had to sharpen frequently, but it was a lot of fun still. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for sharing. I’m a new turner so I’m curious about your work. Full View and Like

Nice bowl.
Thank you so much! Yeah, the sanding is a pain, and the whole thing is sketchy, but they are so neat! Thank you for watching!

Parabéns ficou lindo.
Muito obrigado
It looks great what you make, I recently started making a plywood tri corner bowl as well. So my idea is not as original as I thought it was.
Thank you. I agree, it seems like all of a sudden everyone is making tri-cornered bowls. It is a fun challenge though.
Thank you for teachings, approximate size?
Again thanks
Thank you for watching.
It is approx 4" tall and about 6" across. I started with a 5"x5"x5" cube.
Really nice. Looks a bit dangerous the corners as you say.
Thank you!
