This thing is killer. Living in Alberta Canada, I want to do the lift with slightly taller winter tires, no need for AT tires for us. The 1.75" Mountain Pass lift looks awesome.
Hi Brian. Thank you for what you do! You’re such an inspiration to us! Been watching this playlist for more than a year, waiting for the chance to get my own Model Y, since I can’t touch my wife’s. 😢 Finally got one this year 2023 Model Y LR in Gray. So, I put some bigger tires (245/55r19) on my stock Gemini wheels (powdered coated satin black) and lifted with a kit (1.85 inches). Almost 4 inches taller now, compared to my wife’s Model Y! Yeah!! 🤘 A little bit of staggered offset using wheel spacers. Didn’t really need them, since I didn’t get any rubbing to begin with, but they just look awesome! 🤩 Installed the Tesla Roof Bars as well and some aftermarket mud flaps. In love with this setup! All I need now is the custom roof rack cargo carrier that you built! Would you sell one please!! 😀 Anyway, thanks again!
@@i1Tesla Oh man! I already took a hit on the range with this current setup, I’d say about 15%. But your roof rack looks awesome though!! 😀 Might be worth the sacrifice! Haha! Something I learned from you.. “We’re not doing this for the range!” 🤘 I guess my next move for now is the vinyl wrap! Dessert sand looks nice in my eyes! Gotta rewatch some of your wrapping videos!
Tesla referred me to the local service department, and they told me the mountain pass lift/spacers would void my warranty. who did you speak to so I my make that call.
@@gokaruna so I actually ducked it up by not getting the same wheels he did and instead tried an offset spacer on the Gemini wheels with the larger A/T tires and it was rubbing more than I liked when turning so I took them off and am now stuck with some tires that are basically unsellable. (Nobody wants barely used tires, no matter the discount) He mentions slight rubbing in his video which I kinda wish he’d covered more. I’m going to try a slightly smaller A/T tire in a few months or so. I figure I need to reduce the diameter by about an inch for it to turn with zero rubbing. Couple ways to accomplish that so we’ll see but expensive mistake nonetheless and I’m pissed at the shop I had do it for not double checking my calculations.
@@gokaruna that might still rub a hair when you’re turning. Thing I noticed is that behind the plastic wheel well liner is some metal from the frame so it’s not exactly easy to just mold the plastic out of the way. So if you can reduce the diameter of the wheel +tire by another half inch (.25 inch off the radius) , I’d recommend it. But it might work.
I'm trying a 29" AT setup. Not as aggressive as yours. Getting the Falken Wildpeak 255 50r19 All Terrain tires put onto my Tesla factory 19" Gemini wheels. You think these will rub?

I love your. “Y Buggy”. Maybe it needs a brush guard and winch Hey your efficiency is about the same as an older model S. Its all relative. Honestly not everyone is driving 1,000 miles in a day. Damn the efficiency. Can you imagine a jeep driver talking about mpg when they customize their jeeps? Lol
I was thinking there’s something I have not seen yet even after googling it. The model Y with the model three 20 inch performance wheels, wouldn’t those look awesome on the model Y?
Did the larger tires cause any problems with ABS, traction control, etc? what kind of wh/mi are you getting? Any regrets? I'm about to order a similar size for my 18" Martians. TIA!
This is a YP in the video right? Did you have to change the coils? I'm thinking of doing a 255/45 20 or 255/50 19 (both which are 29 inches, so 0.6 inches shorter than your wheel) and wasn't sure if I can simply swap with the stock 21s.
Just did the install the T Sportline 1.8" lift kit on my MYP today. I kept my stock Tesla coils and shocks for now, but may go with the Tein EnduraPro Plus later. For tires/wheels, I went with Falken Wildpeak AT 255 50r19 on Tesla Gemini wheels. Worked out great. No rub. Looks great. Easy install.
Thank you so much for the post I recently subscribed to your channel and I appreciate the video content and your sense of humor. I wanted to let you know that the company that selling the Martian wheels when you go to the link they only have 20 inch wheels this is by no means your responsibility, problem or fault. They may just be out of stock or no longer available and I just wanted to pass that on. I am strongly considering getting a model y this would be trading from having a F150 lifted truck and by changing from a truck to an SUV is a lifestyle anxiety issue not so much a range anxiety issue. I don’t Offroad very much so that is not the main concern but I know that I will not be able to tow as much as I am able to on a whim with my truck occasionally my work calls for it but that’s when planning doesnt go appropriately and I get stuck having to grab a trailer for something. So ultimately it would be avoidable I guess I’m just nervous about making the switch but I’m getting ever so closer each tesla video that I watch and yours are a huge help. I feel if I could get a set up like your wheels and lift commuting in the winter time wouldn’t even be an issue. Driving up the pass to go skiing not a problem. Take care and thanks again for all good content keep it up.

Hey man! I am so inspired to do something like this with my MY. My LR keeps shaking, apparently from dented wheels. It's happened twice now. My wheels have more aluminum on them because of the custom off-set. Plus I had mine powder coated a different color. That is why mine are a little more
Let's face it, this is not an off road/over land vehicle and never will be! Look at all the parts that came off the bottom of your car on your previous off road attempt! As much as you would like it to be, the car is not built for the kind of off road driving you do!😒
One thing came off my car and I was being very rough on the car. Normally you wouldn't do that on an overlanding trip. Let face it you have no clue. :)

Only if they can prove the modification is responsible for whatever failed on the vehicle. It’s called the Magnuson-Moss Act.
If the circumference of the tyre is bigger, the speedometer will be wrong and show too little, and not your actual speed.
The speed is off by 2 mph at 75
