Tell me about it I used to trade action figures and comic books for Nintendo games and had almost all of them and a lot of SNES and Genesis games and traded everything for the Nintendo 64 when it released and I go to replace a few of my favorites a decade ago too play with my kids and they were from $40 and up cartridge only I was thinking wth glad stuff like little Samson and The Flintstones didn't mean anything to me costing several hundred dollars these days and I had them before too tmnt tournament fighters was hard enough to find an pay $115 for the nes

Yep, resellers like Phoenix are the absolute worst. They haggle small business owners and independent sellers just to benefit themselves, and he doesn’t even care about the hobby and nostalgia like others. Retro Rick is amazing tho and I feel like those jokes they make about Phoenix are honestly a joke, but also a real jab nodding towards how he is.

For example, I started collecting primarily for Dreamcast in my early 20s because it’s my favorite system, then I have other consoles - I simply want the games from my childhood along with cool titles I either couldn’t afford or didn’t get. When folks are buying up everything, creating tons of demand, it makes it harder for Average Joe’s simply looking to have a small collection of their favorites. It's his business. But I think the hobby suffers when too many are in it PURELY for business sake.

Yeah I dislike a lot of these guys for that reason. I'd probably spend more than caleb at a specific booth but because I don't have a camera pointing at them with a large following I get laughed at for suggesting if "going a little down on sticker prices".
Love the early 00's graphic engine aesthetics of some of these games; reminds me of the immortal Arcade places from back in a day. This vid in general makes me miss the quality of tech 'Made in Japan' in 90's n early 00's . I was so close to visiting it at one point. Had xp with MoCap and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit the place that inspired artists like Toriyama and movies like 'Akira' and 'Ghost in the Shell'.

But as said its still a hindrance as he would have to find time to post it to himself. Besides he might not feel comfortable giving people his address considering that is also his place of business etc. Then again i thought he made an app or something so i guess that is the case. So yes he could have shipped to self but maybe he didn't "trust" people enough to ship it for him and he didn't have time after the convention to ship it before flying home.
I found 4 gamecube games at a pawn shop by my house for $5 each and one was Luigi's Mansion complete with manual and inserts. The walmart by my house also has Cult of the Lamb for the Switch.

Some of these Switch games really confuse me. There ARE some cases of awesome games grtting re-released on the Switch, but some of them are not great at terrible prices. In most cases these are steam games being released years after they come out, and can be found for very cheap on Steam, but up to and over $40 on switch. Yikes.

Can someone explain the purpose of these shows from both a seller's and buyer's perspective? Vendors spend money to attend, only to sell their products for less than they could if they sold from home. I’m genuinely confused. I get how this made sense back in the 80s/90s when I was a kid, but now everyone has access to the same technology.
I mean. You could make the argument that a lot of these guys are either trying to get a word out there about them or is easier to sell in person since a lot of people want to see what they are purchasing and the quality of the item. Honestly a booth at a convention might not be as expensive as you think. Probably. Cheaper than eBay and Amazons fees per item.
