I was with the 187th from 1975 until 2008 as a Jet engine specialist and Electronic Warfare Technician. The unit is the best F-16 Fighter Wing in the Air Guard or Air Force!!!!!! They are so good that they will be changing to the F-35s. I got to fly in the backseat of an F-16B years ago and there is nothing like it. Flite Test is a wonderful group and I really enjoy all the projects/videos. Larry L. Duffell
I'm not a builder / flyer, just a watcher of your amazing projects. I've noticed they are getting bigger or more complicated so here's a EDF challenge for you. Build a F-111 or F-14 with actual working swing wing!!!!!
John Overstreet, the designer of the master series planes, actually already did this! If you check out some of the older videos on his channel it’s there.
Love how you guys are revolutionary in the rc marketplace, I feel like it's the 80's or 90's again being able to bring this type of excitement into the hobby! At a great price people can actually afford.
Those flite test radials are crazy powerful. I used two of them to make a foamboard 20 x 20 pizza box flier and it fluttered the rudder off while in a vertical climb.
John it is amazing how you design RC planes so realistically that are made from foam. Thank you FliteTest for making foam RC planes more realistic it brings me so much happiness seeing a realistic RC plane flying.
Love the videos. Is there a chance anytime in the future you guys might a f-14 build? That’s is one of my favorite jets. I would definitely buy that build kit.
For the refuel attempt I'd strongly recommend to have a flightstab system to help dampen movement from control and wind. Just like the real one that is also fly by wire
Way to go FT and John O, those are both awesome! The prop version actually looks fine in the air. I want one....or both. Thank you FT and John O for awesome planes! Your videos are fun too! Dueling foam jets sounds so fun!
@@NoAgendaFPV cannon 05 to7, Luke 07 to 08, reserves 08-09 on A-10s then 10-11 cannon again as a contractor for the pred ground control stations. Now I work on medical Xray equipment
You know what I would love to see you guys make a Predator drone, it would fit along with your military-like projects and I think it would make a fun challenge, also it uses a prop so no issues there.
Yea I know the flying carrier in the Marvel movies is cool and all, but it suddenly occurred to me that for a flying carrier it would be pretty redundant to have a catapult to launch the planes. After all there's really no need for it as when you're several thousand feet up there's no problem just dropping the planes straight down. Might feel a bit funny the first few time but it certainly cuts down on the complexity and size requirements as you do not need a longer take off / landing strip than what's needed for landing using a catch system. Other than that it should be quite easy to design a carrier in the form of a oversized drone. It would however be a problem to make it stable as anything that big and still light enough that it's practical to lift it with a number of drone motors will be at the mercy of the wind. Now if you build a carrier that is flying like a plane then it wouldn't need a large take off or landing strip at all as long as the planes it serves can fly at the same speed as the carrier. It certainly would be an interesting test of skill to land a remote controlled model on one of these. I'm guessing FPV would be needed to make this more than a expensive guessing game.
Very well done. You should really do a dual prop Eurofighter like the NEAT 2013 fair ... Maybe something with a 4 foot wing span. That airframe fits the props perfectly.
F-16s are my favorite! I have Ben Harber’s F-16, the Eflite 64mm F-16, the Eflite 70mm Thunderbird, and I will have his shortly. Awesome! Keep this in stock please!
I absolutely love all your amazing content you guys always are making for us and I really love how extremely realistic all your planes look and sound close to the real thing
WOW - It *sounds* and *looks* awesome! I was hopeful it would be a great kit, but when the jet flew by for the first time, a huge grin took over my face. - WOW
mid air refueling is possible , your C130 that carried the monster truck , put a big batterie instead and a 4 way magnetic tether so it always hooks up right + NS - SN . a little spring loaded so contact is good
Just a thought, why not use the missile hardpoints at the tip of the wings as booms for the motors? You could get a TON of differential and it could even reduce the vortice drag! Cons: less airflow over the control surfaces? It would mess the CG, although if I remember well the F-16 is unstable by design right? Anyway, keep up the good work guys, I love it!
I'll be dimwitted and ask by what method I may be able to get hold of the plan files, to build the aircraft in New Zealand from foamboard available here ? Much obliged for any reply on the subject.
Hurray! Finally a plane with EDF! Will your drawings be available for download? I am also interested in whether your future plans include the creation of models of Russian combat aircraft, such as the mig-29 or Su-34. Or maybe even a promising Checkmate Su-75? I would also like to see in your performance the most massive aircraft of the 5th generation of the 21st century, the F-35 Lighting, with EDF. Sincerely from Siberia, Dmitry.
Josh: “Have you ever seen EDFs go [unlimited] vertical?” Me: Yes. Josh: I don’t like flying for 2 minutes. Me: A lot can happen in that amount of time, oh, and more efficient EDF models are coming out that can last for around 4-5 minutes. More foam board EDFs please!
@@alexrobertson1472 Nice! I can get that on my E-Flite Thunderbird on a 3300 6s. You do sacrifice a little maneuverability, but it’s still fun, and you don’t necessarily need to fly WOT the entire flight.
I have a 64mm edf sitting around, do you guys think I could run that in this plane? Or possible have you guys custom cut me one that's like 15% smaller? I love your laser cut kits, they always end up flying a little bit better then when I cut them out by hand.
A friend of mine did a refueling mission with a Eflite Havoc as the fighter and a Big Skyhunter like plane as the tanker and they put a badminton shuttle on a string as the refuling boom and he managed to get his pitot tube into the shuttle and it was amazing!!!! (done in FPV ofc)
With that prop plane if you shaped the engine duct just right it would add some thrust to the aircraft from the air flow into the engine area using their Bernoulli principle
That is neat! The higher cost and especially higher weight of the current molded stuff has been a turnoff; I preferred the older EPS airframes despite the fragility.
I vote for a working wing design F-14 as suggested by Gary Carroll!! The F-16 is my personal favorite jet, then the F-14 Tomcat! I would be stunned if you made the wings sweep in flight with speed.
Yes! I live in S. Georgia. One day I was sailing on Lake Seminole and 2 Chinooks flew along the tree line headed South. A few minutes later 2 A10s at treetop level. That was an awesome sight. As far as landing gear, no need to worry too much. A female A10 pilot made a belly landing at the Valdosta base recently. By the looks of it on TV she may have scraped a little paint off of it. Twin Edfs and a full load of bombs under the wings might be possible.
Hey guys, the mid air refuel sounds awesome, maybe a magnet on the fuel line would work? Also, I thought it would be cool to maybe see like a mass bomb drop from the b-17, or b-52 maybe plane fired missles?
Hey, looking to build the f pack dual motor setup. What battery and esc should I use along with the fpack motors? Or should I just get a huge 4cell and use the esc that's used with the fpack
Josh: You may be giving up the retracts and some of the fancy stuff Me: You underestimate my desire to slap retractable landing gear on planes regardless
I want to build one of these for myself, but the kit isn't really viable for me because of costs and shipping time. Are there plans available to cut out myself?
I just placed my order for this awesome F-16! Question, my 4s Arrows Marlin running a 64mm 11 blade fan is now just a collection of totally usable electronics. The foam looked like a cooler that met a log chipper, but the EDF, ESC, Admiral receiver and 8 of the 9 servos survived the carnage. The Marlin was heavier, had larger wingspan, etc. What is the consensus of opinion concerning the FT F-16 running this powerplant?
I bought the speed build kit and the 70mm EDF with the 3600kv motor Esc combo but my model seems quite tail heavy.
