I visited Trastevere in January 2020 and enjoyed being away from the touristy areas. I didn't bump into many non-italian tourists at all which was nice. If you want to visit Rome and want somewhere a bit less touristy, visit this neighbourhood for a few days.

Can we stop pretending that Rome is still enchanting? It isn't. Its filthy, filled with graffiti, cheap, tacky shops and beyond neglected. Rome is now a seriously sad place to be in.

Stayed at Casa Santa Francesca Romana in Trastevere - fantastic time - amazing memories!
Had the best lunch at one of the restaurants in the Jewish quarters, walked around for an hour in trastevere, what memories.
Nice, feels like am there. In this current pandemic where many can't travel, this video is such a good alternative.
