From farcry 3 onward they had voiced main characters, Jason in farcry 3, Ajay in 4, and even primal was voice. The only recent silent protagonist was the deputy in 5
I really like Far Cry. But I was really disappointed with FC6. I was hoping for an immersive environment like Kyrat was. But this "Tropico" was just... flat.
Many if not most of the issues you pointed out are valid and I wholeheartedly agree with. However, Far Cry is first person, if it wasn't it wouldn't be Far Cry. Stealth is also a core element to the gameplay and is what many like me love about it. Another person also stated that Far Cry has had a voiced protagonist since 3 (excluding 5 and New Dawn). You saying Far Cry 6 was the first to have a voiced protagonist gives the impression that you're not very familiar with much berfore 5. If so I'd highly recommend 3 and 4. Far Cry 6 isn't a very good Far Cry game, that's entirely true but some of what you say make it bad are pillars of the series. If you're not a fan of them that's completely fine, not every game is made for everyone.
@nestwr Understandable, personally I enjoyed their stories and still remember them pretty well. I do agree 5 is way better than 6 by a mile. Hopefully, Ubisoft will start making some proper installments in all their franchises again. They've been making mostly mediocre games for a while now. There was a leak about a month ago about the next Ghost Recon returning to the franchise roots. Maybe the same will be true for other IPs.
You ever notice how you’re mostly fighting enemy women soldiers in the game? It’s the only Ubisoft game which condones the use of extreme violence towards women.
Far cry 3 was the best . the original writer of it left ubisoft a long time ago i think. The marketing has changed from 2012 target ( young people 18+) to little kids aged 10-14 years) . Those young people aged and they got jobs, moved away from games. Now, since the little kids need something new to stimulate their brains every 15 seconds, they cannot invest in any story or gameplay development. Ubisoft has the easy route of just throwing ridiculous or new things into a game story for the little kids who are most of the market today. Fortnite era kids. We will probably never get much better games than the ones made in 2012.

Agreed. I tried to like it, bc FC5 was amazing.

I've played 3 and 4, goes to show you how memorable these stories are when I didn't even remember my character speaking

I agree with your take on FPS.
