The video is great but the guy running the grading crew needs to do a Major rethink. 57’s pushing 51’s when there are several 57’s!? Where are the push Cats pushing the 51’s and the 57’s should be Always teamed-up. That’s a Ton of wasted production. Unless the push Cats are unavailable, this is a poor distribution of assets.
I'm not too sure why they weren't using the push cats but I have a video that I haven't posted yet that I recorded prior to this one and they were using the push cats.
Guys it is simple economics. 57`s pushing a 51 makes more money! One less engine yes it is alway looks better for them to pair up 57`s but money talks.
@@timothygrell4398 Actually no. There is NO benefit to an operation using Less horsepower on a grading project. On site were adequate pairs of 57’s to non stop team. The 51’s are DESIGNED to have Push Cats for production. I was a field rep for Cat for 5 years and KNOW how to optimize assets. You mention “looks”. NO grading contractor cares about looks. The Only consideration they have are EFFICIENCY(cost per yard/ton), and how Fast can the job be completed.
Looks to me like the only thing the D9 operator knows how to do is make a mess. Nothing seems methodical or in any type of order. And just seem way off from everything I've ever seen. Not discrediting video. Don't get me wrong.
Reminds me of the time when I was doing operating one of these machines in 1966, fond memories.

They had three 57’s up and running we had three 51’s so to keep us going they had us push pull together . Thanks Heartland for keeping us busy . 👍🏻😎
