I am not from India, nor am I a mathematician, but I do like to see myself as a creative type otherwise. I have been fascinated by Ramanujan since I first became aware of him. I am particularly interested in the source of his inspiration. Perhaps Nanagiri is the embodiment of intuition. Having read the Mahabharata (twice) as a Westerner I would not argue it. The source of creativity lives everywhere and has many names, but it is required that we, as human beings, will listen.

Very interesting doco. As I realized long ago India has many cultural gifts related to math and memory systems. My personal experience with Indian culture is through musical practice and specially Sarod playing, my brain became much more tune to math thanks to the ragas and chillas.

He really got a divine imagination. I feel that there are so many people on earth with intelligence but only some were recognised because other don't have proofs. Ramanujan was a really great person and just give it a thought that if whole of his work was published then how much it could helped human kind. 2 great mathmatician from India- Aryabhatta and Ramanujan. Most of Indian genius people work lost now. Most of the work was destroyed by Aurangjeb by firing Nalanda university.
This is very well-made documentary. Congratulations to its maker. I am not educated in higher mathematics, but the way the narrator presented Ramanujan's conjectures in this film inspired me a lot. I wish the legacy of this great genius will be carried on for generations and in the course India will be able to produce more mathematics scholars.

Sadly institute is neglatedand fallen on bad days.My father wanted to make the institute Princeton of India.Premature death of my father and financial constraints of the promoter of the institute Dr ALAGAPPA CHETTIAR pushed the institute into oblivion.

Fantastic documentary. Congrats. What I am aware of writing on a slate was, one used a stone to scratch on it. These marks were not indelible. They could be easily rubbed off with the hand. Blackboard chalk was not used. In many cases the slate was not framed.

He really got a divine imagination. I feel that there are so many people on earth with intelligence but only some were recognised because other don't have proofs.
Ramanujan was a really great person and just give it a thought that if whole of his work was published then how much it could helped human kind.

Most of Indian genius people work lost now. Most of the work was destroyed by Aurangjeb by firing Nalanda university.

This is very well-made documentary. Congratulations to its maker. I am not educated in higher mathematics, but the way the narrator presented Ramanujan's conjectures in this film inspired me a lot. I wish the legacy of this great genius will be carried on for generations and in the course India will be able to produce more mathematics scholars.
We should look beyond the sphere of politics, of nationalism snd caste.
We should not shy away from discussing the combine between intellect and the spiritual.
An inspiring documentary for younger generation . It was forwarded to my grandson ,now @abroad doing school final, which would surely make him involve in his studies more particularly related to Mathematics.

I am not a. Mathamathecian. I am the son of a mathamathecian who was the first Director of Ramanujan institute in Chennai. Sadly institute is neglatedand fallen on bad days.My father wanted to make the institute Princeton of India.Premature death of my father and financial constraints of the promoter of the institute Dr ALAGAPPA CHETTIAR pushed the institute into oblivion.

Fantastic documentary. Congrats. What I am aware of writing on a slate was, one used a stone to scratch on it. These marks were not indelible. They could be easily rubbed off with the hand. Blackboard chalk was not used. In many cases the slate was not framed.

Indians has done so much for the world which in-turn cruel to them. Before Isac Newton there were Indians proved what Isac did and were ignored because it was racism. You can see Indian ingenuity from the building of Peryar Kovil and other buildings.
