In the South the spices are salt/pepper only and that's called white gravy. We eat it on biscuits, mashed potatoes, and country fried steak. It's delicious but white gravy is not Alfredo sauce. I've seen people try to pass it off as homemade Alfredo.
I'm Italian and that's not how you make beshamel. You only need butter, flour, milk, salt and nutmeg. Also the last layer shouldn't be beshamel but tomato sauce and loads of parmesan
We always use bechamel in lasagna in DR but only butter, flour, milk, salt and ground nutmeg (in that order)
And a little of black pepper
Right on! But i put mozzarella in it one day and truned in to chef kiss!
We always use it in Egypt it makes the food so much better 😍
Looks good, just subscribed ❤

Wait other countries don't use bechamel as a staple ingredient? 😮
Right?
A lot of people use ricotta in America.
@@joo069 oh okay, I've never eaten ricotta
Yea Italy
@@gabriellacervin843 I personally don't like it. I would love to make one with bechamel because it sounds much better.
Just found out about this today. ❤
I will try this! Have you ever made carbonara?
Garam masala?
How can you make a lasagne without béchamel?
