Great vid . Had me pmsl at times . Love the sound of rain on a tarp , as long as your under it not getting wet 😂. Know what your saying about the go pros. Mine is getting very temperamental. Take care geez 🏕👍
I've rode a cow when I was about 15...🤣🤣 It was hard work and it wasn't happy... we coaxed it to a gate with some grass and shit, my mate distracted it and I got on... it tried bucking me off without success then all of a sudden it just dealt with it and started eating grass 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I don’t mind Cowes…..it’s just busy when the yachting’s on 🐮🐄🛥⛵️🚤😏. Shout out to Mr Bourne Outside for spotting the opportunity for a quick quip too😎👍. Yeah boy, walking poles for when the footwear’s a bit slippy in the wet….and they’re nice adjustable tarp poles too😎👍. It was soooooo rainy on the East Coast of Australia in the last 3 days that I reckon it was raining all over the world!! Weather looked fairly ominous with you too😖👍. Nice shelter, looked like it was up to the crappy weather⛺️. (I’m recommending the Cold as Ice tutorial on the Ukulele Cheats YT channel if the weather gets too grim to head out, it’s well worth a look😎).
Good to know that the tarp shelter handles inclement (normal British?) weather pretty good (I'm in the US and so get less of that). Just bought one. I'm not sure you can even DIY a tarp like that for the price? But, I will probably DIY an extension beak for cold weather camping. I sometimes like to go out during polar vortexes when the temps drops to around -20 C or so. I'm also going to put velcro tabs on the inside (no sew, just use clear silicone caulk) so that I can line it with some space blanket type material (but probably not the cheap mylar ones, too fragile). Yeah, if you're hot, I don't understand a rain-jacket etc. In wet weather when I'm warm, I like to wear a fishnet baselayer and a thin polypropylene long sleeve shirt over that. I don't even need a backup pair of clothes because the combo dries so quick. If it gets a bit cooler and/or the rain gets hard, I may throw a windjacket with a good DWR over it. I also made myself a from scratch WPB poncho. Lost that one though, so need to make another. I take some uncoated, uncalendered nylon or polyester ripstop, and treat it with silicone, which because it is far thicker of a coating, lasts a lot longer than a factory DWR (you want to do a ratio of like 7 parts naphtha to 1 part clear 100% silicone caulk). Then I sew some polypropylene non woven fabric under that (whatever water gets through the first layer will get stopped by this layer since the first layer absorbed all its velocity force/energy). And under that, I sew some nylon tulle--though I think I'm going to switch to ripstopbytheroll's "Monolite" because it is far less snaggy and MUCH more durable and strong. Never had anything so actually breathable while being functionally waterproof before. Anyways, thanks for the video.
It's been a great bit of kit and one I'd like to use more. Handles the elements well. Used it on a long hike over a few days and the pack size is awesome
Happy days, I only sunk 2 beers while watching, video was way to short lol 😆. It just shows that your videos end to quickly for my watching/viewing pleasure. It's on my bucket list to visit the isle of Wight, hopefully on a motorbike 🏍, I'd love to take it slow and wild camp while I go around the coast. I saw one of your vids with your children when you camped on the beach and went swimming in the sea, that's deffo a place I wanna camp, it looked beautiful 😍. Loved your setup btw, it looked different from most, even though visible as you said, but it still looked cracking 👍. F**k that's so frustrating with the gopro. I don't think I'll get one of those. Oh not sure what bacon grill you get, but the asda bacon grill is the best, better than spam in my opinion. It tastes like having a smokey bacon sandwich 🥪 😋. Cheaper too at £1.50. Bear sized badger for me 🐻 🐻❄ 🤙 I'm gonna shut up now lol, thanks for sharing 🤟🍻
Got some bad news for you Richard, even going slow you'll do the island coast on a motorbike in about 2 hours. The beach you like has been purchased and has security guard on it at night. On the plus side you have gad a couple to take the edge off it
@@Nobby77 shit, yeah the edge has been taken off until I wake up 😆, 3mph on my bike when I get one then 🤙oh and obviously you don't know me, so every 15 miles, a pub and I'll start again the next day 🍺, bad news about the beach though 🤨
You might be able to find the gopro piece you are missing on ebay. people often sell specific bits if they have lost the rest of the kit. Also your battery dying at 25% normally means it is a four cell battery and one of them is failing.
Shokz, they are probably the best thing I have had in a long time. I use them every day. I did a review on them a while back if you're interested on my review channel th-cam.com/video/uB7oMfIw64U/w-d-xo.html
Personally for me I think the are something to avoid pmsl. A lot of people love them but you are separated from your kit so if it rains you need a tarp or something. If you are getting into bed with wet kit then you are bringing the wet in. Very claustrophobic and snug. Much prefer tarp/bivvy set up. They are stealth but so is a tarp and bivvy, the one advantage they have is protection from the elements in an emergency but if you are stranded you are Camouflaged and they wont find you lol. As I say just my opinion but I don't like the thought of them.
Nice one Lee i really enjoyed your around the uk on your super little bike. How about more camping / stealth camping with the bike it would give you access to more great locations love your channel keep up the good work👍
Great back to basic simple camp, simple food and simple shelter which like you say does the job. I was messing about with meths v Dragon fuel (bio fuel) yesterday what are your thoughts? I found if I could keep the bio fuel sheltered from the wind and about 25mm from the pot it wasn't too bad boiling a 500ml pot but I found the meths was at least 40% faster. I was using a Alpkit Brewer which is basically a shrouded pot stand with a generic spirit burner and a trangia bio fuel dish. I know you are an retired squaddie and would have used his fair share of heximine blocks but the army seem to have shifted to dragon fuel blocks and modified the fold out cooker to suit them, I wondered if you or your old army mates had a view on them? I could use gas, I have a MSR pocket rocket and a Jetboil but sometimes I prefer the piece and quiet plus a visual flame of a slower spirit cooker, being less hectic it helps me take 5 and reset.
@@Nobby77 Tramps Purse!!!! Love it. First time I tried it ( Hexamine) I was unaware of the smell beforehand and assumed my food was off so chucked it away on a camp, felt a right twat when my Dad explained it to me afterwards.
