Amazed every video at how much research and time you put into new projects. You never half-ass anything and it's really inspirational. It also hurts my knees and back just watching you do this whole thing, but I guess that's what the squats are for. Awesome as always!
Glad you like them! I definitely try to do my research so I don't misinform y'all, glad it comes across that way. And yes, I was definitely pretty tired after this one!
Nice job! The vac lifter and leveler with the slope built in is a game changer! Keep up the great work as the goal is for us to continue to inspire others to build something awesome! 👍🏼
Hi Johnny, we widely use these in the UK, they are so much better than concrete pavers. Easier to clean as mould and moss don't penetrate the surface. Thanks for the detailed video, your patio looks great.
I definitely noticed that these seem to be much more popular over the pond when doing my research on them! I so prefer the look to standard pavers too, much more clean.
Great project! Looks fantastic. I believe that top ring flips over on the Solostove to direct the flame and help keep smoke down, or at least that is the case for the smaller unit that I have.
A ton of knowledge in all your vids man .... and the voice over is perfect. They are great to review and rewatch. Spectacular! You are a inspiring with how hard you go to make things cool
I see you take the time to answer most comments, thank you for that. I plan on doing a similar project and want to use ¾ inch porcelain tile set on gravel and stone dust. I live in Québec and the ground freezes hard down to 48 inches in the winter. I saw that many comments from older "experienced" people are very negative of this type of installation, they prefer a mortar bed and some sort of adhesive cement, for my part I don't think this can stand freeze/thaw cycles very well. What is your opinion on this? Do you experience very cold weather in your area?
Thank you so much for the video! I’m doing a small walk way with those pavers but have been scared to do it on sand due to the thickness of the paver. You’d just reassured my project 👌🏻 just wish I had that suction cup tool
super great, thanks so much for your attention to process details. I'm building a small retaining wall myself, for the base of my Garage build on a slightly sloping part of my back yard in Greensboro. taking in your reasoning as I consider what I'm doing here. thanks.
I'm tempted to go back. The park like backyard was awesome. Personally, I'd have developed the park setting, so I'm curious as to why you're breaking your back to do this tiny house/patio thing.
I watched the intro to this series. I get it now. Too bad your hoa got between you and an awesome architect. The last property I bought, I specifically avoided hoas, building permits/codes so I can do whatever the hell I want.
I'm doing a similar project with porcelain pavers, deciding if I should go dry sand install or a sand/cement mix. Can you please let me know how this stood up a year later. Thanks for the great vid!
To prevent debris getting onto your work if left for a prolonged period of time. You can lay a big enough tarp over it, it also works if there is rain just may sure your run off direction of the tarp goes to a spot where it leads away from the base/ends of the wall.
Hi, can i ask if i can use any brand of porcelain tiles and follow this method? Also, can I use brock panel or gator base for an easier first timer DIY project for my backyard? This is the best tutorial, thank you so much!!!
I would of had the company that made your speakers sponsor the vid. You talked quite a bit about the speakers and the setup. Your DYI projects are major for people like me.
Really enjoying this series! I can not find knee pads that don’t bunch up behind the knee. (Which is almost worse than no pads at all) What are yours and do you recommend?
Thanks! Just copped those. Laying tile in my tiny tiny (16x20) house this weekend. Tiled the porch last weekend with crappy knee pads and pain is the word of the week.
for people not following this series, it might be slightly weird, that you show before, and then in the after shot there suddenly pops a house into existence xD nice job!
When shooting slope with the laser you should shoot in line with the laser axis especially at that close of a distance. Otherwise you lessen the degree of slope the further you're out of line.
Can’t find the edge restraint for outdoor porcelain tile. The typical ones at the big box stores for pavers are deeper. Do you have a link or a tip? Or do you somehow just use the paver ones?
My house currently has the patio cement slab (concrete) cover part of the back yard. Instead of removing the concrete, can I just pour the sand of top of the concrete and lay the porcelain tiles on top that?
I have planned a small electrical project at home. However, I need a little tutorial on how to do it. I have an outdoor/front lawn pole lamp with 3 lights, and I want to install a dusk to dawn eye To the lamp. In simple terms, how can I install it?
100% true. I just (tediously) power washed and re-sanded my paver walkways. Maybe 5 years after install? Polymeric sand is not the panacea people claim it is.
Just curious how long the content lapse is? I can't imagine you have a lot of time to edit and upload while simultaneously building the house?! Anyway, great work man. The whole thing looks killer.
Do you mean how long ago did I finish the patio? I wrapped it up about two weeks ago and have definitely lost most of my lead trying to work on the house and edit at the same time. Lots of work for sure! Thanks!
Looking to do something similar in my bare back yard. Do you know if these would be rated for say a 5000lb filled hot tub weight? Or do you think I should go concrete or stone pavers?
So much hard work involve in a patio work, only thing I would change is adding paver to the fire pit area and use other landscape rocks instead those coarse rocks to degrade the quality of work!
Including the retaining wall, machine rental, pavers, etc., the total bill would have been ~$10k. Thankfully, the retaining wall block and pavers were provided, which saved me a good bit.
@@craftedworkshop Dude, you wrecked your body on this job, BUT if I had a sponsor laying out the block & pavers, I'd kill myself to get it done, too. Well done! (you are young, you will heal soon). Respect.

Super 🙌 Beautiful 😍 and I Love ❤️ Your Project and Forever and Heart ❤️ and Share With You Jojo Beckers’s
This is super clean!! I had no idea porcelain pavers were a thing!! 🔥🔥
1-800 Super Pro!
Thanks dude! Super happy with the way they turned out, and I definitely like the look more than regular pavers.
Beautiful. I love it. Be kind to one another. Stay safe. Love to all

Those two tools were definitely a HUGE help on this project.
@@craftedworkshop where did you rent this pneumatic lifter tool from? I need it asap😊
I've really enjoyed this build series, keep up the awesome content.

This is a work of love.... so much patience and work to put in to get it done and it look awesome.
It’s gorgeous, a tough job very well done. The whole not-so-tiny house project has been a labor of love (and sweat) and you should be so proud!
Thanks Trish! Definitely been a ton of work but it’s finally coming together and looking more and more like the vision!
Wow! What a big job you did there! Thanks for sharing tips.
Great project! Looks fantastic. I believe that top ring flips over on the Solostove to direct the flame and help keep smoke down, or at least that is the case for the smaller unit that I have.
🎉🎉 😊Would be curious to see how this nice installation holds up today . Especially since you DIDNT USE the corner spacers ...?
You can actually see the slope on the tile. Looks good keep it going!
Yup, it's amazing how half a degree is noticeable! Thanks!
That turned out spectacular Johnny & I have to admire your over the top attention to detail! 👍👍👏👏
Thanks Steve!
Man you are the BOMB!!! Excellent!!!
Love this video but Solo Stove is the real MVP!
Hah, thanks Nick!
Man you killed this project amazing work!!!
That was a great video. Full of helpful information.
Wow that's amazing work. And music too That's awesome.

All I can say is WOW. You are just brilliant through out this build. Great work pal.

Definitely a lot of work but totally worth it!
Marvellous 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Top job that well impressed 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks great dude, awesome job.

Good luck!! And totally worth trying to find one to rent or at least a cheaper manual suction cup tool.
super great, thanks so much for your attention to process details. I'm building a small retaining wall myself, for the base of my Garage build on a slightly sloping part of my back yard in Greensboro. taking in your reasoning as I consider what I'm doing here. thanks.
I will have to go back and watch all episodes(?) when this is all finishied in one swoop! Love the videos, keep up the good work!
You should! It's kind of crazy looking back at the first video now to see how far things have come.
I'm tempted to go back. The park like backyard was awesome. Personally, I'd have developed the park setting, so I'm curious as to why you're breaking your back to do this tiny house/patio thing.

Looks fantastic
Thanks Dave!

Fantastic work, dude! It really looks beautiful! 😃
The firepit is a great idea!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! Definitely not planning on moving any time soon!
Fantastic
If you’re working with pavers or flooring in general you want to always start from the center and work your way outward if at all possible.
I would of had the company that made your speakers sponsor the vid. You talked quite a bit about the speakers and the setup.
Your DYI projects are major for people like me.
Thanks! They did send me the speakers to try out, so that was pretty sweet.
Well done, congrats
Thanks!
Patio looks great what kinda black Nike sneakers were you wearing the first 2 days?
Great work! How satisfied are you with the sound system, is there anything you would have done differently?
Thanks for sharing your excellent work,
DC
This is so freaking cool. Question though- why the porcelain over concrete or even bluestone? Looks awesome, just curious.
Thanks! Concrete would have been cool but I liked the consistent look and size of these pavers, plus they were totally new to me.
Did your pavers end up holding up over this last year?
Great video man but you should've run the speakers cables into a pipe, what if a cable breaks, how would you repair it?
Anyway, keep going!!
All of the wiring is around the perimeter in the gravel, made sure to do that in case I have any issues in the future!
@@craftedworkshop great idea man! Sorry here in Italy we use this technique, didn't see you did so😉
Really enjoying this series! I can not find knee pads that don’t bunch up behind the knee. (Which is almost worse than no pads at all) What are yours and do you recommend?
Knee pads are definitely a pain. These ToughBuilt ones are some of my favorites : amzn.to/2TrhT0h
Thanks! Just copped those. Laying tile in my tiny tiny (16x20) house this weekend. Tiled the porch last weekend with crappy knee pads and pain is the word of the week.

Damn, coming out good

Looks amazing. Thanks for the video. What polymeric sand brand and Colour did you use?
My house currently has the patio cement slab (concrete) cover part of the back yard. Instead of removing the concrete, can I just pour the sand of top of the concrete and lay the porcelain tiles on top that?
are tips on leveling the sand? it's insanely painful to lay the sand down, level it only for the tile to rock or be raise to high etc...
What do you do between the patio and retaining wall where the support strip is at? Fill with rock?
How thick is your porcelain tile? Can you use polymeric sand on one's that are less than an inch thick?
Beautiful job I love it !!!! I like yours black shoes 🤗 send it to me
2 years later and how are they holding up? I'm considering porcelain pavers vs concrete
You should plant some grass around the border of the porcelain pavers where you put gravel
That would be cool but I don’t think it’d survive with all of that sand and compacting base below it!
Monkey grass. Like roaches can't get rid of em
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
I have planned a small electrical project at home. However, I need a little tutorial on how to do it. I have an outdoor/front lawn pole lamp with 3 lights, and I want to install a dusk to dawn eye To the lamp. In simple terms, how can I install it?
Can you send me a source for the specific vacuum lifter you used. Thanks
Question: What program did you use to layout the patio?
Thank you.
The solo stove cap piece is upside down! Flip it iover and use some bar keepers friend or stove cleaner to clean it up.
The polymeric sand wears out after about 2 years. Prepare to redo it.

Which 1/4" spacers were you using?
I want those speakers
Hi. Great video! Where did you get the edging? We're having trouble locating ones that are low profile enough for our porcelain install.
Did you ever find any in the US? I'm also having trouble finding low profile edging and spacers.
If you use T-bars you won’t have to fill in gaps when you lift your grading rods.
Looks great. Does it hurt to walk on the gravel stone barefoot?
you know it does!
Looking to do something similar in my bare back yard. Do you know if these would be rated for say a 5000lb filled hot tub weight? Or do you think I should go concrete or stone pavers?
What oil makes wood shine?
where was the outdoor speaker's at the end of the video? or did you decide against them in the end?
Oh no they’re definitely there. One to the left and right of the deck and one in the fire pit area. They sound amazing.
Solostove is great... when you don’t have the ring upside down 😜
😂
seen you over on Seths channel.. any chance of you riding Berm Peak on the Ebike ?
For sure! I definitely can’t do a lot of the features because they’re insane but I think some of the new stuff he’s working on looks way more doable.
What is the cost of century plywood?
Do your neighbors have any issues with the outdoor music?
I'd use a bigger level for the pavers.... great stuff though
?what software you use to make the plans ?
So much hard work involve in a patio work, only thing I would change is adding paver to the fire pit area and use other landscape rocks instead those coarse rocks to degrade the quality of work!
How hot do these tiles get in the sun?
What solo stove did you get? And would you recommend?
I got the Yukon since I don't plan to move the fire pit. It works great so far! www.solostove.com/solo-stove-yukon?rfsn=5679140.fcd95e
I wouldn’t compact that many time, just the base before the fabric is enough.
why gravel for firepit area? is it for code, safety or cosmetic?
because its CHEAP!
Which iPhone case do you use?
Wouldn't that blower be an MVT, as in tool not player?
Patio looks great too
Does that mean this is the end of the series?
Definitely not! Still have to finish the inside of the house.
What was the total cost of this project porcelain tile $$
Including the retaining wall, machine rental, pavers, etc., the total bill would have been ~$10k. Thankfully, the retaining wall block and pavers were provided, which saved me a good bit.

Hey Johnny whats the point of the earings
Hey James whats the point of this question. Do you normally watch DIY channels for know-how and inspiration or fashion choices?
Seriously, because I like them? Why else?
Some people 🤯😂
Is there a link to the first video?
th-cam.com/video/8S7RXx0wgX0/w-d-xo.html
No, you did NOT cover installing the speakers in your previous video.
