I have been crocheting for over 40 years and I knew how to cast on, knit and that was it. You have made me want to learn more and I love love love your videos.
How do you do a ruffle at the end of a project. I am making a dog sweater and want to add the ruffle at the end of the sweater so do I increase 3x the amount of stitches I have on the last row before the ruffle starts? Or do I add stiches for a few rows before. Thank you for your help.
with the yellow ruffle do you need to knit top down if your knitting a dress for instance? I can't see how else you can incorporate the ruffle otherwise.
I'm working on an afghan and I'm afraid that it may be just a bit too small. I wanted to add a ruffle but didn't want to have it crochet. This has helped. I have also ordered the book. Thanks!
Alternatively, you can just take the process and reverse it. So you knit until the length you want the scarf or shawl, and then you knit into the front, back, and then the front of every stitch before slipping it off the needle. This would triple your stitch count. If you're working in stockinett stitch: Purl the next row, then knit 1 row, then purl 1 row; repeat the last two rows, and then purl on the right side; then bind off.

I'm going to cast on 20 stitches for a scarf, how many stitches would I need to make a ruffle?
Cast on 40, work the ruffle, then you can decrease down to the 20 sts you want for the body of the scarf.
Hi! If I knit top down do I have to increase, right? I like ruffle #2, is there a way to increse 3 stitches in 1?
