This is such a great easy effect - thank you for this - I'm excited to try it with other colors such as green for that "warp magic" effect on some minis!
How easy it looks, when you know, how to do that! Taming what happens to me unwillingly and use it to achieve such result. Need to remeber it... But rest of the miniautre looks awsome as well. What paints did you use for the armor?
contrast will settle on recesses, while for fire we are looking for the recesses to be brighter than the raised details(if you want to paint it the "real way")
I tried a variation of this for some thruster effects on some starships. Do you ever have an issue where the bubbles from the thinned down paint leave strange voids after they dry?
Very happy to hear, kinda screwed up what i had planned for next weeek so im improvising something, trying to keep it halloween themen as well as informative
Patience and proper layering. Brilliant tutorial worthy of a sub. I love your final result.
Thank you very much Bobby, glad you liked it

Will you be doing a tutorial for either green or purple fire?
at some point i will, i mostly wait for the right model to show up
Won't contrast paint do the same thing with a white base?
