    This was extremely useful!! Thank you so much for making this video, and the timing is perfect haha :D
    For the Q&A, I have several questions:
    - (I know it may seem stupid) Does the university provide you with the accomodation for the interview or do you have to book a hotel on your own?
    - What do you enjoy doing during your free time at uni?
    - how many lectures do you have per day on average and how many placements?
    - Why did you choose to study in the UK?
    - How do you cope with the tuition fees?
    - To which unis did you apply to and how many offers did you get?
    Sorry if I asked too much and you don't need to answer all of them :)

  • @filsan1860
    @filsan1860 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Lit! How do you prepare for those adventure type questions? e.g. if you had a raft boat and can only take 3 people who would they be? Nice one!

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is the first I hear of those questions but that sounds interesting! If you are deciding who to save then You need a very systematic analysis based on facts of life as opposed to personal choice. For example: an objective assessment of health, ability to survive, ability to maintain a good quality of life if damaged or injured etc.. if you are deciding who to take and keep entertained with then choose 3 people who mean something to you and you can talk about! It doesn't matter who they are, what matters is how you justify them :))

    • @filsan1860
      @filsan1860 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! It is a strange one. I have a friend who applied to QMUL, and she was asked this type of question for her medical interview!

  • @franm47
    @franm47 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Is the writing all the questions down method valid also for MMI? I'm really struggling to find a way to prepare for the MMI since I'm unsure if they will ask me the traditional questions or if there will be more role-play etc. I'm finding really long to write all the questions down and answering all of them and I'm unsure if this is actually the best way to prepare for the MMI. Should I practice more role play or ethics questions instead? :)

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      All these tips are for MMI and Panel! The role-playing ones you definitely need to practice acting out the role play as its the only way to get comfortable doing so in front of strangers! It might not be the best method for you so definitely explore and use other / your own methods to prepare. This way just worked really well for me and my friends :)

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Zain! I don't remember the timing so well to be honest. My advice would be to start everything as early as you can and put in maximal effort. You have to balance it all as a good bmat score is useless without good ib scores and vice versa. Interviews I would practice when I got the chance as much as I could and then when I actually get one I'd put 80% effort on the interview because you neeeed to do well to get that offer. After you have the offer you can work your a** off to get the IB grades 😄

    • @KharmaMedic
      @KharmaMedic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Prudence Leung hey! It's very different. You get so much more responsibility, workload increases and life becomes a bit more 'real'. But it's infinitely more fun. In Canada for my undergraduate degree I had almost zero free time and spent all my time studying. In the UK the system is so much more relaxed and forgiving to the students of the uni. You have plenty of time to pursue sports or any other hobbies! In fact medics seem to have lots of free time at uni! I'm sure as the years go by this decreases but you can still have lots of fun. @thatmedic is a great example of how you can have lots of fun at uni! University is DOPE. 😄

      It might be a bit too early from now but do start slowly and ramp up as you get closer. Getting used to talking to strangers or explaining why you want to do a doctor out loud to someone else can be nerve racking and take time to build confidence in. It doesn't hurt to start early! But each person is different and needs different amounts of time. You know yourself best but I would air on the side of caution 🙂

      Hey mar thanks for the feedback 😊 I would just say avoid the major clichés. Sit down and think about it for yourself and go for it. It doesn't truly matter what the reasons are but how you justify and talk about them 😄

    Hello I watched a video today of someone getting their ukcat results and they said that the decision making section doesn’t count to the overall score so it’s sort of pointless to do? Is that correct? If needed I can send the link to it to see if I’ve just heard it wrong?

    Hello! Thanks for this great video, I was wondering if you have any advice on how to interview prep if you have not got a lot of time (a few days) and you have lost ur voice! (I know its not a great situation to be in, but I had an interview last week so I did prep for that, I'm hoping I'll remember some of it) Because I know practice is key but I do not want to strain my voice and not be able to speak at the interview!
