Hey your videos have been incredibly helpful! I've followed them from the time you've mentioned about applying from Canada, to your tips for studying for the UKCAT, writing a personal statement, and now all the way to here where I've received interviews and now looking to prep! Thank you so much, you're incredible!!! :D
Ahhhhhh that's awesome Sharon! That Canada video was so long ago. Thank you for supporting me throughout this journey 😊 congrats on the interviews and GOOD LUCK!
All of these videos are making me so much more comfortable with the idea of getting into med! Your videos are super informative and I feel like I'm learning so many important things so thank you :) Also - for my biggest weakness would it be okay to say that I care too much about what others think? Or is that something that is vital to medicine?
Thank you so much! I wouldn't say it's critical but you would need a strong twist on it such as 'i can sometimes care too much...'. And then emphasize on the improvement and reflection!
Ur simply incredible Each and every good quality exist in u!! How this idea came in ur mind to became best vlogger to share super informative videos. 😊
Hey! Thanks for the video, your tips have helped me a lot. Is it possible for you to do a video on the station where they make you tell someone bad news, calm someone down etc.? This is what I am most nervous about so your experience would be very useful. :)
Isn't making videos on youtube a sort of public speaking? XD You're presently talking to 7870 people and you're pretty good at it! Thank you for this prep, very helpful for my McGill University interview!
ahahaha I guess so but it's honestly so different! It's difficult to explain. I'm happy you are finding the videos useful and good luck with your interview 😁
OMG u are a life saver. Needed this so much!!!! I have an interview at Dundee university for dentistry in January/ Can you recommend any sources to study for MMI?
ahahaha cheers Zeb glad I can help! Congrats on your interview I wish you the best of luck. For resources I jsut used Google, forums, and TH-cam videos! I assembled all the info I gained into a single document and used that to prepare. I have several videos on how I prepared for MMIs 🙂
All the way from Austria!? That's a first 😁 I collected my questions from all over the place I remember. But more specifically themedicportal was good, thestudentroom forum also had lots of students talking about and discussing questions. Other than that I used a lot of TH-cam videos. One that is more geared towards American or Canadian unis but I found very useful is 'Course Grinder's' MMI series. I hope that helps and good luck!
what if your biggest weakness is self-consciousness and being a people pleaser? Would that be central to a medical professional? I can communicate well but sometimes im a little too nice; im working on it to say no more.
very useful video indeed. As to your MMI notes, is the content more suitable for med schools in the UK? or it is applicable to MMI in other countries. Your honest opinion is appreciated. Thanks
Thank you so much for doing what you do! I decided not to apply to the UK and changed my mind 2 weeks before taking the UKcat which I scheduled for the last day possible... And then binge watched all your UKCAT videos! They absolutely saved my life. I very unexpectedly, have an interview at Manchester (my dream Uni) and was wondering if by any chance you have any advice or know of anyone who might be able to help me out, specifically with Manchester? Thanks again for being such a kind, generous and helpful human being!
What a story! Congrats Sophia 🙌🏼 Glad my videos could help you out! I'm sorry but I know literally nothing about Manchester uni. I would definitely recommend thestudentroom forum threads though I'm sure there will be one for Manchester and they are super useful! Happy preparing and I hope you smash it!!
@@KharmaMedic I have and will keep coming through the student room! Thx! Due to scheduling issues from my side I had to schedule my interview for the last day possible. 14.2 due think it's a disadvantage to be last?
hey kharma medic ..........can you make videos on subject related itmes , like teaching about heart ,kidneys, brain, all the mbbs portion.... if it is possible ......
i want to mention a weakness in terms of not prioritising my mental health during studying. But all scenarios in my head which have personally lead to mental health issues relates to working too much and taking no breaks( which isn't ideal for a dentist/medic), so how would i implement this weakness into a reason which isn't a key asset to the field i want to go in?? I guess what i am trying to say is how do i mention the issue of dealing with my mental health without relating it to a quality of being a dentist?? Because a lot of universities expect you to be able to handle stress and ask what you do to destress. If in my interview i mention that a weakness of mine is not knowing how to deal with stress and as a result it has effected my mental health, will they not like this?? It is something I have generally struggled with during a levels and is the only none cliche weakness I can think of right now while also being very true to this day. help :(
Hey Abdi sorry to hear about that I know the stress and workload of school and interviews and exams can all be too much at times. We all get through them and I know you can too! You can twist this weakness in a positive light and say that hey I admit that sometimes I become so focused on my work that I forget to take the time to do other activities in my life and that had taken a toll on my mental health. Having realized this and knowing how important it is to have a good work-life balance in medical / dental school or career I decided to work on it. I started to take breaks every 45 minutes to give myself time to relax from work, I made time for the activities that I want to do even if that means I would do a little bit less studying in the day etc etc.. and you can talk about how you've improved and what you any to continue to do in the future or change etc. I hope that helps Abdi!
I am a Dentistry applicant and I would say that my biggest weakness is communication. And the reason being is that my first language is not English, and I moved to the UK only 3 years ago, so I am still working on the language as well as communicating it. Do you think I should say communication or think about something else?
Sir Kharma, love to ask u how u feel about 1 getting addicted to prescribed pain meds. Do u have to have a additive personality or is it just given. Soooo many ppl get hurt by this and become addicted to street drugs.?? Love to know.
I really need help with this interview question! I do have an answer but I just don't think it's convincing. If you can please help me. The question is: How do you cope with moving from an environment where you were one of the best to one where everyone has similar abilities to you? What would your answer be Kharma Medic????? HELP
accept the fact that there is always someone better than you. It is a good thing because it can motivate you to improve yourself or you can be friends and learn from each other so you can both become better.
can my procrastination and bad habit to leave things to last minute be a weakness? I believe it is quite a critical weakness but it has been a recurring demon in my past since 6th grade
Yeah i think as long as you also mention that leaving things to the last minute means you perform good if not better under pressure because being a doctor can be very stressful
This was really helpful! Do you think that struggling to balance multiple tasks under time pressure is a good weakness? It is difficult to explain but I find that when I am at work I have a million tasks to do but I get stuck with one person for way too long because I want to make sure they are 100% happy and everything is perfect. Obviously doctors can be under time pressure e.g. 10 min GP appointments but should never rush so not sure how to play this as a weakness...
Hey Amy! I definitely wouldn't phrase it like that. A junior doctor (especially) or a medical student is constantly trying to balance multiple tasks under time pressure! Its one of the key skills you need to be a doctor! The weakness you describe isn't necessarily bad for the interview i just think you need to phrase it differently!
Ok- thanks for your input. I think that my time management isn’t that bad anymore and I have improved a lot! I am just trying to think of a weakness that isn’t one of the key skills haha. This is hard!

However, I've yet to find my strength.
I'm still trying to work on it, it takes time! We all have a strength just search real deep ☺️

Hi,very useful videos. Could you possibly do an mmi video for children nursing?
Really helpful video, but I just wanted to ask. Doesn’t teaching most often imply speaking in front of many people? Don’t these 2 somehow contradict?

No I don't!
why is it that every video on "what is your weakness" mentions public speaking. If everyone answers public speaking, you will just sound boring.
