    Thank you for sharing your jaw journey and love your attitude towards your recovery. I had double jaw surgery when I was 15 which unfortunately relapse so now, 20 years later I’ve decided to do it again, next week 3 March. Your videos have been inspiring and really helps with my anxiety so thank you!

    Hey Chloe! Thank you so much for sharing your recovery journey! I was actually supposed to get the same surgery three weeks ago, but it has been postponed due to COVID. It sounds weird to say but I have been living vicariously through you! Hang in there, sending love from Canada :)

    I finally have an appointment to get my surgery date after having it dangled in front of me just before lockdown in the UK, so my treatment came to a halt! I might finally be back on track; you seem to be doing really well, all the well wishes from me! I’ll be keeping up to date, notifications are on! :)

    Hi Chloe! I appreciate you sharing your journey and recovery! I was misdiagnosed by a general dentist and was doing Invisalign for over two years until I went to an actual orthodontist and found out I would need DJS. I got my braces on in March the day everything closed and I am meeting with my surgeon Thursday. Hopefully I can have my surgery later this summer. I am very nervous and anxious about the recovery. How did you get through it and how did you manage your fears?

    It’s day 9 post op for me.. and I agree with everything you said in the video 100%. I am still struggling mentally and physically...massive ups and downs. It’s such a long hard process I find..... and very hard to stay positive when you can’t sleep. I wonder how long it took you to start feeling like yourself again. Looking forward to hearing from you either in comment or in your new video

    • @ChloeEvans1
      @ChloeEvans1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Progress is going well so far! I found my upper lip was definitely harder to move because of the stitches healing slowly and it being in a completely new position! Hope you are doing well!

    How would you describe the pain and discomfort of recovery?!

    • @ChloeEvans1
      @ChloeEvans1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Aleisha, I probably would describe the discomfort as very swollen and weak... I didn't really experience much pain (apart from some slow-healing stitches) because I was so numb and swollen! I found an ice pack or heat pack could help relive this discomfort :)

    I have an overbite and I’m thinking that braces won’t fix it so I’m probably going to have to get jaw surgery but I’m not sure because I haven’t had braces before and I have teeth that are out of place. Do you have to have braces for years before jaw surgery.

    • @ChloeEvans1
      @ChloeEvans1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jalael, your orthodontist will suggest what they think is best for your bite, but in my case, I had braces for a few years to straighten out and prepare my teeth for their new position after the jaw had been moved. They also keep everything in place while your jaw heals! Hope this helps a little bit! Good luck :)

    Really this is very rough recovery, after seeing the way you're swelling was, I fear this op, I have sleep apnea and my Dr recommends double jaw surgery and chin advancement. It make me fear this major op.
