    You look amazing and sooo beautiful, I had my surgery one month ago and still I cannot talk, my chin hurts me all the time and whenever I try to speak it hurts more. My surgeon says it’s ok and I have to try some exercises! Please provide me with any type if advise because I am dying from the inside, I can’t talk and can’s eat 😭

    Hi Chloe! You're looking fantastic! Have you noticed any changes to your nose? I'm 2 weeks post opt at the moment and my nose looks wider. I'm hoping it's just the swelling but my maxilla was moved forward 3 mm so it might be because of that.

    • @ChloeEvans1
      @ChloeEvans1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Thanks so much! Congrats on your surgery, I hope recovery is going well :) Yes I have found that my nose has changed a little - for me it has upturned a little bit from my maxilla movement. I’ve seen that it’s really common for noses to change slightly, depending on the jaw movement and structure of the nose! I found that the swelling emphasised any movement of my nose, so if you’re worried at all, give it a few weeks for the swelling to settle, this can even take up to a year! Hope this helps x

    hey chloe! would you mind giving more info about the bone graft? how long did your recovery of your hip take? do you have any side effects from that? also, is there any chance that the downgrafting is unstable? sending love from canada!

    • @ChloeEvans1
      @ChloeEvans1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Eden, thanks for your question! My hip was a little sore to walk on, but all in all, the scar healed really nicely and I didn't have too much trouble with it at all :) I don't know all the details, but they took a bit of bone from my hip, mixed it together with a special bone glue and then used it structurally in my jaw! With this "created" bone and titanium screws, everything should be pretty stable and not affect your body's acceptance of the new materials :)

    I had jaw surgery 5 months ago and this actually made me feel a lot better - I was wondering if the numbness went away completely yet for you? I have actually the same thing this tingly-ness in the left side of my chin and lower lip and then a little bit on the end of my nose and near cheeks (but really what annoys me is the chin). Also if it did go away did it all go away at once and when? (I know i should be calm because i'm not even at the 6 month mark but it helps to hear others experiences too).

      Hi there! It was definitely encouraged to take medication with food, making sure my stomach was ok to absorb it all! I didn’t spend too long on medication which was great, I think I was done with all medication (bar paracetamol!) after about two weeks, so definitely not a big digestion or stomach issue! Hope this helps :)

    The fact that you can breath better through your nose is because now you can place your tongue in your palate properly which you couldn't do prior to surgery due to your underbite. You can check out more about Mewing and Myo functional therapy. Any, great result. I am still looking for a good surgeon to fix my breathing and sleeping problem.

    • @max_rove
      @max_rove 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it's not because of that. Moving the upper and lower jaw forward, increases the airway space behind the jaws. Moving the lower jaw forward also moves the tongue forward, further reducing obstructions.
      Mewing and proper tongue posture is just the correct way to go forward after surgery.
      It does not fix severe skeletal issues in adults. It can however guide growth in children.
