I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me).
I’ve had to overhaul how I approach taking care of my brain (exercise, journaling, studying etc) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 50-60% effort into my journaling habit - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on my youtube channel.
Historically I have a habit of going too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a small, consistent mediocre effort everyday. And its crazy how it adds up. I finally feel less dysregulated and prepared to tackle my other issues like my loneliness.

Screw staying in the lanes, Rich. Keep on doing your thing wherever it takes you. I've been listening since those first ones in Hawaii and it's been an amazing, mind-expanding journey with all the wonderful and different people. 11/10

I started thinking of myself as someone who went through things in past and learned things about myself and about life that I can now talk about honestly to give people who may be in similar situation hope.

I have a different experience from yours when seeing the Rich Roll podcast. I think it is okay to say your views on BLM, but then going on to only interview people with the same views as you is sort of saying you know everything there is to know about the world.
The comment section is basically saying if you don't agree with BLM 100 percent then you are a racist and a bad person.
I think he can do what he wants but I will take a break from his stuffs for at least a while.

I love this excerpt -- always loved the song Even The Losers get lucky sometimes; best lyric to me was God it's such a drag when you're living in the past. In my profession it's all about narrative. You can use meditation to rethink your story, but the lynch pin is when you gain insight you must act and make amends to yourself as well as others--real steps to achieving the examined life. My besetting sin is would have could have should have. I can't help that reaction but mindfulness helps me to watch that thought and let it go. Bravo you guys!

I can't believe that anyone would tell Rich to "stay in his lane." I've only been watching for a few months now, but I've heard him talk about so many different topics and I've found immense value in all of what he has to say. I hope he feels more support than criticism here✨

very intriguing that if you strip this down in its essence.... being present and not living by the stories of the past which shackle us all down, rethinking those buds on the tree and creating a new narrative in the way we treat ourselves, and in so doing teaching others how to treat us... how we respond in pent up defensiveness.... the past doesn't need to dictate your future.... what ever you focus on you simply get more of etc.... Imagine if you raised those philosophies in your last podcast.... mapping out a logical path forward for a very large group of people defining themselves from so many layers of stories... I wonder under those pretenses in interviews with example Morgan Freeman, Oprah, Miles Davis, Kevin Heart, Obama, Micheal Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Serena Williams, David Goggins, Stevie Wonder, Dr Dre, Jayz, Beyonce, James Brown, Denzel Washington, 2Pac, Little Richard, Jordan, Carl Lewis, Spike Lee, Quincy Jones, Richard Pryor, Muhammad Ali etc..... what story narratives they would provide and discuss with you?..... It would be a very interesting discussion and a vastly different philosophical narrative from them than what society feels they need to present for them..... don't listen to those people who say you cant, including yourself! What you focus on is what you get (ie Morgan Freeman for president basically)

This is a huge question. Maybe focus more on who you want to be instead on who you where ? Then maybe that will also lead you to confront who you thought you where.
This is so difficult to answer in a general way.

Tanx Rich, interesting story,if I smoked and I don’t smoke now.? Do I call my self a smoker? Similar with alcohol if I don’t drink any more do I still label my self as a drinker who needs alcohol to surface without inquiring and investigate the why’s? And all the imposing a diet of bull shit and a culture of fear? Imposed on us? Truth is a path less land☘️💚🇮🇪🔑🤝🙏🏻
