- "Putin doesn't feel he can afford to end this war. He knows the patriotic surge is the only thing keeping at bay all the discontent that has built up."
Frustration grows in Russia towards Putin's war as Ukraine solidifies its gains in the Kursk region, says this week's Frontline experts:
Russia expert Mark Galeotti
Senior fellow at the Atlantic council Diane Francis
Former US ambassador Kurt Volker

The ambassador made a good point by stating that the US will probably lift its rejections to the Brits sending the Ukrainians more potent offensive weapons.
People seem to forget in past conflicts, whether that was in the former Yugoslavia and Serbia, Libya, etc. when the US and the UK were coordinating together, it was the Brits who were much more hawkish than the US. Truly living up to its "Bulldog" image....
A journalist asked a Russian man what he thought of the Russian government. The man said, "I can't complain."
a bit like the UK ... especiaIIy complaining on social media
Exactly, he would like to, but can't.

Sums it up about right. It’s not that he won’t complain, it’s that he can’t. He’s not allowed to.
The Donbas and Crimea are not just 20% of Ukrainian territory, the oil and gas and lithium under the ground or off shore is the main wealth of Ukraine, I heard estimated $7 trillion, a very valuable land grab for Russia and major loss for Ukraine. Also how can there be investment in Ukraine's rebuilding if Russia could so easily cut off Ukraine's global access and could easily re-invade at a later date?
I dont think it can happen when Putin will be kicked out of power. Average russians dont want war or wars. The russians still in Russia are the corrupted and oligarchs in Moscou or st-petersbourg or Koningsberg. The rest are USSR nostalgic or and are too poor to go away from this dictature.

Putin is very risk averse. That's what our leaders need to understand when considering Putins red lines.
I wonder how long until they find him on the floor after an heart attack.

At least the Russian people are being treated with care as the occupation goes on. they aren't a rich population in Kursk so their means of spreading the truth is suppressed very well. Excellent tactics as opposed to aggressive treatment of the Ukrainian people in the region the Russians occupy. You catch more flies with honey than vinaigre. This is a very old know fact.
Dead man walking
Why are we giving Putin so many advantages, when in any other conflict there would be no restrictions on what, when and how military equipment is given?

USA stockpiles may be running shorter than military would like, but that does not mean inadequate. USA military capacity is planned to fight two major wars simultaneously, like against Japan and Germany in WW II. So shortage for us (USA) does not mean the same as shortage means in Europe. Shortage for us is only having enough to fight 1.75 major wars simultaneously!

Yea yea sure.
Coming out with this feckless nonsense as the front crumbles only shows that working for Times Radio has sapped the last vestiges of Mark's integrity.
Changes in tactics as a knock on effect with weapons used or desired. So a scream for tanks can then be followed by the absence of their use. The same for F16s , when they arrive the idea of full on counter attack is replaced by stealth of position and drone attacks. Its now a question of reserving force and starving the enemy. Uts better to reduce Russian stock piles than ask the West for competing volumes of equipment. The calm way of damaging the Kerch bridge, but not destroying it, leads to the gradual destruction of the Russian navy and ferry boats, once they are gone the bridge can be immobilized.

I prefer foundering myself, although they have come to mean the same thing. When a ship founders, runs aground, it means it's near the end which I think equates more accurately to Putin's situation, although he does flounder around quite a bit too. Plus, they are bottom feeders, and their eyes only look one way.
Wish they'd stop with the 'boy who cried wolf' shtick....the point of that story is that the wolf eventually turns up and eats everything
While the villagers were now ignoring those,er, 'red lines'....just sayin'!

What does floundering mean? I am not a native English speaker
1. struggle or stagger clumsily in mud or water.
"he was floundering about in the shallow offshore waters" .
2. struggle mentally; show or feel great confusion.
"she floundered, not knowing quite what to say"
3. be in serious difficulty.
"many firms are floundering"

And yet more speculative waffle from an “expert” fortune teller. Let’s just wait and see what happens eh, rather than saying loads of things that won’t happen…..and haven’t happened following other “experts” opinions I’ve listened to on this and other similar channels. Remember when Putin was on his death bed a couple of years ago with either cancer or parkinson’s disease….😂😂😂
His hand does tremble uncontrollably. That's Parkinsons. Unfortunately, it's a degenerative illness, rather than one that kills quickly. Explains his paranoia as well.
“YES UP TO A POINT”…Mark is also weak.

Ukraine is also refining its drone program and developing significant drone capabilities. As it continues to use drones to attack Russian military capabilities, it may change the trajectory of the war.
What do they need Western missiles for? Ukraine just hit the Kerch bridge with its own weapons, if I understood the news right.
If Ukraine were to invade towards Moscow, I think the Russian response might be different than the Kursk incursion.
Kursk is toward Moscow.

The only problem with your guests ideas is there aren't any trained ukrainians to fire those weapons Nor ukrainian satellites in orbit to give them targeting information.
Training just takes time and there are quite a few privately owned satellites that can be accessed for a price.
@@rockbutcher And you think those private companies already know how to transmit the targeting information to this equipment? Does that mean the united states uses private companies To target other country's enemy resources?
Would it be too much to ask this channel to imagine a world a year from now, where Ukraine has capitulated and Russia is wondering where to deploy it's 2 million strong army next? If you also assume that the US has gone it's own way, then that might generate some useful discussion about what Europe should be doing in the here and now.
That would be a useless exercise. Why imagine an impossibility?

Just how is the invasion "floundering"?
It's been a long, hard haul but Russia is now within an inch of achieving all its military objectives.
Escalation can only come if the West allows Ukraine to attack Russia, in which case the whole shape of this war will alter dramatically.
Years to go yet Ivan, things are just getting started.
1. half a million casualties over a tiny, unimportant nation
2. magically changing a week's walkover campaign into a thousand day slog over daily inches of progress
3. destroying the future economy of Russia
4. humiliating putin over and over for over a thousand days
5. finally uniting the NATO and the EU
6. making the largest army in the world into the largest army in Ukraine
7. exposing the rot and corruption in the Russian military
ya need more?
