Finally a low cost inventory to solve the housing crisis. Most of these companies are only trying to get rich for less labor. Good stuff!

In a lot of places, it's because of 'shrinkage' on the site, and other delays, substitutions and accruals add substantially to costs. Too many sharp pencils, all of which want to lay a lien.

@@robitwhisperr I'm sure it IS only $50000, in the parking lot of the builder with no utility infrastructure involved. No roof.... But when design costs, team import costs, equipment import costs, electrical, plumbing and gas installed??? Doors, windows, toilets, sinks...lol What about foundation/drainage and insulation?? Not to mention hardscape like walkways and a driveway??? Lmao... I'm gonna pee you're so funny. Let's put it this way, SMART GUY, $50,000 will get you the hvac, plumbing, and electrical in a SMALL existing home near me. If you are lucky. And Michigan is on the cheap side. We do $50,000 driveways...lol We do $20,000 roofs and that's the truth buddy.
Like I said. $300000 consumer price. No doubt about it.

cutting out the windows is an interesting technique. not sure I’m buying it, but it reminds me of of the lost-material technique that people use when making complex plastic parts. Could probably achieve some interesting vaulted ceiling designs using a lost-material technique (like at Paolo Soleri’s Cosanti in Paradise Valley AZ). It’ll be interesting if someone develops a nozzle that can do multiple materials-kind of like the Coca-Cola Freestyle soda fountains that can do multiple flavors. A machine like that could do lost material, and even inject insulation while printing the structure.
Putting clapboards on the exterior is silly. LOVE the price❤

Ran a robotic welder for around 18 years it’s all in the programming when it comes to design. You could program the machine to weld where and however you wanted to. Ya you got to have a tool point set for accuracy but other than that it would go wherever you ask it to go. Imagine plastic wire instead of steel. Hot plastic stack on top of each other. It would make a wall image concrete poring instead of wire. I believe this technology has been around for quite some time. Problem is American EPA and Pattons on things that should be available for everyone in America. We suer don’t want the electric company to go under lol

I love it, I still have a problem tho. And it's the price. You have to admit your still over pricing all because your faster turn over rate.
Please remember your going to make your money from these homes no matter what during the housing boom we are going to have vary soon.
But it's a near promise that you're going to lose a lot more money in the end because someone is going to do the same thing but charge much less and less durable. Giving a bad name for all companies installing these homes.
If I was you. Id start high then drop those price rates slow enough to keep your selves ahead of all your competitors.
You'll charge less but make more because you'll have more clients.
And you'll also be doing a good thing for those who really can't afford 200 plus in payments a month. Helping out a lot of people living on social security and crappy jobs with kids to take care of.
This country needs some kind of Robin Hood of homes. Don't get me wrong I understand there are some bad apples.

This guy is trying to sell his product. I'm a builder and I love all the hopeful comments praising this video. 3 d printing of homes is going to be way down the road. Cost effective no way. You don't see a blueprint he doesn't show an overall view of the structure. Be realistic, he said he could go 5 ft wider and it would only cost $100 more?? Yeah right! A 3D printed house means you are only printing the walls. It takes someone making the mortar perfectly, which temp and humidity change throughout the day. An operator, a crew to set up the gantry system and tear it down. You also have to pour concrete footing supports for gantry. Super labor intensive procedure. All of these 3D home printer guys are talking out their butts. It's in its infantcy right now and it expensive. Most of you commenting have obviously never built your own home. I'm talking drawing the plans yourself and actually doing everything yourself. It's complicated and hard work. It's also very fulfilling. If it's sounds to good to be true it is. $13,000 for materials double that for labor for a really tiny house with bare minimum finish quality. Make another video showing blueprints, square footage, a house actually built on a piece of property and realist labor costs and set up times.

The power of 3D printing is in being able to rapid prototype, and/or create structures not possible with normal manufacturing. Using 3d printing to print big rectangles (the walls) and then still needing to cut out windows doesn't seem impressive. Prefabricated aircrete blocks seem like a better fit for cheap housing. Good for politicians (who spend other people's money) for a nice photo op, but in my opinion not the best fit for the technology.

Is it just me or does this guy seem like he really doesn’t want to be on camera? Like he’s rushing through it. I could be bugging tho.

It took me 2 years to get into the Mudbots facility they certainly aren’t begging for camera time. Mudbots has lots of rules around what can and can’t be filmed but they are open about many things. I’m eager to see their first printed house.

@@automateconstruction I think it was funny when you asked about displaying competition on the wall and he said no and hurried past the question. We know Icon is the competition and are doing a 100 home community for Lennar.

Fake video ... Not possible in 13k.

    • @automateconstruction
      @automateconstruction  ปีที่แล้ว

It’s not a fake video I’m an independent journalist, nobody was paid for this. He said it was $13,000 in materials but there’s no foundation, permitting, plumbing, independent electric, ect. Obviously you can’t buy a house for $13k. Sorry if i misled you.
